TLDR: Read it or I will find you. Ive never written a review before of a more developed book before and at this point ive read thousands of series novel or graphic novel. I can confidently say while this isnt an issth it certainly can be and has the setup to touch that level of excellence. Anyways with that out of the way hopefully youll take this seriously and just take my word for it but if you need more then here we go Writing Quality: The writing quality of this novel is borderline perfect. The pacing is perfect, expression of both visual and non visual, tangible and the non tangible, is perfect. I have absolute no issues understanding at any given point what is happening in the novel and I will always have a clear image and feeling to accompany it. The grammar is also near perfect I know ive seen a typo before on this novel but its been awhile and it only happened once or twice so that should speak for itself. Updating Stability: Since ive started reading this book which was around 140 chapters ish. The release schedule has always been 2 chapters a day and to be honest I have no clue how the author does it but I wont focus on that lol. Even when the author had to take a break because they broke both their wrists and still managed to type a couple chapters during the break is just pure insanity and I cant respect them enough for it. The care and perseverance the author has is clear and leaves room for no doubt. Story Development: As ive said already the pacing is perfect but aside from that the development of the story is just amazing to see. Everything unfolds as if im actually there nothing ever being too much or too little. The ideas and plot that are created and shown throughout the novel so far has been incredible and over almost 400 chapters now has never left me bored and ive always been looking forward to whats next. Always keep in mind though that the nothing is at it seems and no character or place has security here. Character Development: I can confidently say this is the authors strongest ability in writing. The ability to artistically and flawlessly depict the ups and downs to the extremes on both ends of a characters mentality and being able to change over and over again without feeling like a different character or having stagnant development character wise but never feeling truly the same. Every character written here feels like you could plop them into real life and id never mnow the difference if I only judged them from the personality stance and not that most if not all of them could kill me in at least a dozen ways outside of realistic means. As a last note all the characters that are special anyways have a uniqueness to them that seperates them clearly but also links them in way, almost like he created his own culture within the book but never explaines the majority of it and simply had them act according to how they would act in given culture. World Background: At 300 something chapters we still dont know hardly anything about the full world we only have One extreme over another. What I can say is that the setting in all stages of the book so far have been established perfectly and what details we do know about the world has never been shown through a horrific wall of text that induces hatred of all things like a lot of web novels do. Anyways to wrap things up this is an incredible novel and if it wasnt for the 300 something chapters I would say its at the quality of anything beyond your normal web novel and truly feels like a novel written by a proffesional, experienced, skilled, and highly creative author. P,S, Once again this is my first review ever and I dont know a whole about literaure an writing from an acedemic stand point so you can take what I say for a grain of salt ignoring my experience in reading these kinds of things. And if the author ever see’s this I highly reccomend you read the Young Elites series it has a similar feel and is also very very high in quality. Also please bring more of the crazy exploding fire guy I miss him already (dont worry what I said was not a spoiler) Thanks for reading :)

This is not a novel about a true swordsman in world of magic, is story about a man who uses a sword plus other things. The sword is just there. I hoped the mc would use just his sword and swords skills to fight, but it isnt how it goes. His affinity ( a power in the novel) is so stupidly strong and exagerated that makes the sword aspect of his style look irrelevant. Why call him a sword god if you are going to give him a secondary power and one so rodiculous like that? Even the mc mentioned in the begining that he wants to be a magic swordsman... thats is not what a sword god should be.

Alrighty, this is probably my first real review I have even written, mostly because I like my bloopy persona. However, this book is just so close to being something amazing while being written by an author who is very good, so I feel the need to give my honest critique on how to make this story go from a good story to a phenomenal story. So, lets start with some things that I notice are being doing very well. The character personalities are very distinct, at least from what I can tell. Most new authors have the issue of letting their own personality leek into the characters they write, making all have similar ticks and whatnot. This author, however, has done a good job so far of keeping the characters being themselves. This is great, but what is no so great is how the author has developed the personality (well, specifically the mc since none of the other characters have existed to the readers long enough to develop). You can think of a story like a road trip, where you are trying to go from the beginning of the story to the end, where there is hills and valleys (conflicts and resolutions), and of course the occasional pitstop (info dumps, really anything that interrupts the flow of the story), which causes the car of the reader to come to a complete stop. These pitstops are where the problem in this book lie, there are way too many of them. Every time the mc has even a little bit of character development, the entire story pauses and stretches the moment out. Try to make it so that a non-groundbreaking oh-my-gosh-the-world-is-going-to-end type events limited to only a couple of paragraphs, it will help keep the metaphorical roadtrip a lot less choppier. Another thing this author has done pretty darn good is the reasoning. There is always a why to everything that is done that is logical and pretty easy for most readers to readily accept, which is a lot harder then it may sound. Except, there needs to be a balance in how you expain this, it is completely understandable if sometimes there just needs to be an info dump, or something the mc explains in his/her head for the reader’s sake. However, using the same method over and over become repeatitive and boring, and will lead to readers skipping past parts because they feel they have already seen it before. A pretty simple way to fix this would be use a similar idea to crop rotation, where you use a couple different ways of explaining the whys behind things, and just rotate them in such a way the same way of explaining things is never within ~5-8 chapters of eachother. I really feel that if you can fix these 2 things, author, this book can have a much higher quality standard and attract a lot more attention. Thank you for all the hard work you put into writing a book and hope you have a great day, whoever reads this :) Also bloop.

this work could've been one of the best novels on webnovel, the story is really good all the way through. There is one thing holding it back tho.the ending, without spoiling anything, the ending is quite possibly the worst I've ever seen. So my recommendation is to read to chapter 1000 and leave.

I am at chapter 93 and I think it is time for my review: I like the way the author is making this story. MC is not OP from the start, there is a develeppement to his strenght and averall slow paced, I like that a lot ! But, some moment made me almost drop it. There are some cringe and wierd moment where poeple are not very naturel with the way they interact with MC. But what really made me think about dropping is the way Author explain what just happen or why did MC dit something..... Just stop. If you need to explain something, it just mean that it was not clear to begin with. As far as characters go, the begining of the novel is very centered on MC and there is very few human encounter. So I don't have mutch to say about it, I might update this review later on. I just hope that they won't be classic novel character but original and well tought. in conclusion, a good univers and MC but I might drop it later on.

I have never read a more unlikable MC. If you want to read a story about an MC that is basically a villain that cares only for power while sacrificing, letting die, or outright killing any person he has a good relationship with, this book is for you. I give credit to the interesting world the author built and the complexity in which the MC developed; however after reading 550+ chapters of a sociopath killing indiscriminately to get stronger, that was enough for me. I would've been more okay with the MC having a few close friends that were also sociopaths getting stronger together. At least there would have been relationships to enjoy. Humans are social creatures and I find it hard to believe or relate to that a person could be so able to cut themselves off from everyone. I regret not reading the lower rated reviews before paying for so many chapters. Read at your own risk!

Chapter 300+ I started liking the novel after the development of the MC character I hope he becomes like an MC in Ascending the Heavens as an Evil God When everyone is seen as they are NPC hahaha

This story is good despite the obvious flaws. But there is one major thing that the author messed up and can no longer fix. The mc. Although I think his personality is fine and it’s somewhat what I prefer but you can write a story around such a character. He essentially doesn’t talk, he cares about nothing besides power, the only conversation we get because of this are just information dumps because the only time he talks is literally when another character stronger than is forcing him too or he actually needs something. Most of the story is spent with him in isolated training so there not much to write on that which just creates a bunch of time skips. Again he doesn’t care about anything expect power so he will not even entertain something if doesn’t make him stronger. Despite all this huge flaws you could have made this a better story if you changed the writing style. You could have kept the same mc but instead of making him the main focus you should have made the side characters the main focus. Kinda like Overlord did because the story simply wouldn’t be as interesting if they didn’t. And that’s you should have did. Of course it’s too late your already almost a thousand chapters in. But I guess if you make another story this is something you should think about. All in all I would it has good grammar but in terms of quality it’s about average if not less. Character designs are ok nothing major but still there. Story development I would give a 0 if I could because although I like it but from a story standpoint it’s just doesn’t work. Background is talk about but in terms of being fleshed out it’s not but it has one

The summary is so vague, it doesn't give the novel the credit that is due, I saw this many times but avoided it because I found it exhausting to find a constantly struggling MC, HOWEVER! I decided to read a couple of chapters to see if it was really as good as people were saying it was, a quick ten chapters turned into 700 chapters, and I couldn't stop reading. This isn't even gold at this point, this is DIAMOND!!

Just like what the others said, the pacing is horrendous. I've read over 250+ chapters and expecting interesting to happen, but there's absolutely nothing that interested me. I would rather have clichés like a tournament arc than what the author has done thus far. Not to mention, for someone in the future called "Sword God," he relies too much on magic. I feel like the author has been neglecting Sword arts too much. The only times the author has talked about his sword art was vague stuff like he has an aggressive sword style and nothing else. Whereas magi, the MC has an amazing affinity that seems like the author spent a lot of time thinking about. If you're here for an amazing Sword user, then I suggest going somewhere else. Though if you like a unique and making magic, then I think you'll like this.

I hate this author. For the simple reason that he has ruined all other novels for me. His works are so good I can never be satisfied by anything else. Sure the explanations are long but I would rather that than no explanations at all. It shows and attaches us to the characters as well. Shang is the most machine like protagonist I have ever seen. Current chapter, him going into the isolation barriers and literally staring at death just for a minuscule increase in power is insnae. Eventhough he doesn’t want to. I am so excited for more chapters. Side note, if anyone can tell me novels similar to this I will be grateful. I have already read Lightning is the only way.
