The story begins in a bleak and ruthless world, a promising backdrop for a character without a quirk. However, any hopes of a sensible progression are shattered when the protagonist's personality does a 180-degree turn at the speed of light, all because of a normal mask he wears. The protagonist is able to overpower a fully grown adult, despite lacking any sort of power or strength, Then the protagonist decides it's cool to have two personalities. The protagonist is a child, yet he magically possesses the thoughts and actions of an adult? If you want a plot where a protagonist gradually descends into a villain, you'll be sorely disappointed, Instead the protagonist randomly attempts to kill innocent people without any reason. Then the hero character assumes he has two personalities, inexplicably adopts him, is perfectly okay with someone who killed people, and even trains him him. The world is supposed to be cruel, but then the protagonist gets adopted by another passing girl. The knuckleguy, a supposedly normal human, can magically fight individuals with powerful quirks, How convenient right? Wrong! It makes absolutely no sense, The so-called protagonist suddenly becomes a hero to save a girl. Why? Oh, because he wants more friends. Because nothing says friendship like rescuing a criminal and killer. And let's not forget how this genius decides to hide her by covering her with trash. Except the police have quirks like heightened smell, which apparently can be easily hidden. Oh, the girl can transform her body using blood, so why didn't she do that before? After yet another timeskip, the protagonist remains a child, but he's clearly not smart, since he decides to get captured by a villain. Oh, and he randomly attacks a hero for no reason, Where did Aizawa come from? Who knows? Everyone is 'stunned' and 'shocked' by protagonists actions even though he accomplish nothing, He tries to help people but fails miserably at everything. Midoriya, the supposed hero, is absent and conveniently vanishes into thin air. After yet another timeskip the protagonist suddenly gains the ability to use binding cloth in only a month, so what was he doing a year ago? He joins the academy to 'learn' more stuff, But he's apparently more skilled than the teacher, that he has nothing else to teach him, even though hes beaten by weak robots that even Midoriya could beat. Despite multiple timeskips, he still can't speak, he remains useless, devoid of personality and development.
Since the author is pinning one star reviews, here's mine. The premise of someone normal training only his body and combat techniques in a world with super powers is fine, many heroes without any kind of super constitutions in the original work can tank hits that would turn any normal human into chunky salsa. Aizawa for example can jump 3 meters in the air, get hit by some guy with hulk tier strenght and NOT become fine red mist on contact and is basically an anime ninja in all but name. Add to that the absurd science fiction technology of the show, there really isn't much of a reason why some "normal" guy in that world without a quirk couldn't become a hero if he puts the effort in it besides the "It would make other heroes look bad in comparison" reason, but that's besides the point, the point is that the premise could totally work. The reason it doesn't work is becouse the MC is both a nice optimistic guy that's very likeable and also rabid dog hellbent on destruction, and the longer it goes the less excuses you can make for the former because of the latter. There's absolutely no reason why he, a person that probably has a body count in the 4 digits by now, should be outside a psychiatric ward, or just jail, specially in a world where everyone is obsessed with morality, law and justice. The reason he gets away with it for most of the novel is becouse... they like him better? At some point it starts to read like excuses you would hear from “Pit Mommies” after their pitbulls start mauling mailmen and eating babies, here's a dramatic interpretation of the first 100 chapters Some Hero: "BULLET, STOP EATING THOSE VILLAINS RIGHT THIS INSTANT!" Bullet: *Sad Puppy Eyes* Some Hero: "Awww, i can't get mad at you, but don't do it again, okay?" Bullet: * Does it again for another 100 chapters* Later on he gets WORSE, his multiple personallities merge and he starts speaking in what i can only describe as "Cocaine Addict Speak", he can not stop talking IN ALL CAPS about murder and violence and how much he HATES society, the hero system, villains, his lot in life. Everyone that likes him just, kind of, ignores it, even if the only topic of conversation he can muster now is murder. Everyone that dislikes him is just there to get humiliated and to point out that he's quirkless and therefore less than human. That's another thing, i don't think there ever was any kind of discrimination against quirkless except for Hero related jobs, quirks are basically irrelevant for most of society becouse its ILLEGAL to use them without a hero licence outside some very mundane activities, some people even lost their quirks and it was seen as a tragedy, being quirkless is a very "Unfortunate" event, its pittable, its the same as being a cripple or having some other disability, it would be like saying society today has this huge grudge against people in wheelchairs or people with Down's Syndrome, its just nonsense, even the people that feel unconfortable around them would still fake smile to pretend to be civil, even more so in a society that worships super heroes. Those are the 2 main points why it doesn't work, characters personalities twist and bend to acomodate this MC that can not stop killing people.
Loving the ff so far. The mc has a different personality when he puts on his mask in a sorta Dr. Jekyll and Mr.Hyde situation, in a sense that without the mask he is a kind, sweet, and friendly boy. That is until the mc pits on his hero mask and becomes a violent, aggressive, killing machine. The only way I see this not being enjoyable for some one is how the mc currently speaks in broken Japanese (really English but you know they’re in Japan), BUT all the other characters make up for it with there personalities. Hopefully in the future he will speak like a normal human and not a cave man.
The story is a great read that has a rather bittersweet ending. I enjoyed how the MC developed, you can see which aspect of the character was developed by who or what if you take some time to think about it. During the making of the story, updates were no less than 10 a week when I started reading this so it really helped keeping in the loop of the story. All round would recommend reading this.
Problem i have with this story is the changed personalities of most of the characters. For example bullying in 1-A class. Everyone is rude to bullet but only Katsuki could be seen like this in original story. 5 star reviews with no real depth are never a good sign. I will still read for a bit and if it gets better I will update my review.
what I'm liking from this fanfic are the character design and updating stability, the mc design is so good that idk what even to say and for updating stability are you ever sleep author? for what my dislike about this fanfic is the development for himiko and Lady nagant is not developed enough to be my liking. that's the end for my review, this is just a rant, do this fanfic have a harem? but there's a user that comment in the review section that this author doesn't write a harem story, usually i don't like harem story because most of them write the harem like catching a pokemon but i like to or want to this story mc have a harem, because there's a lot of point in the story that can be a start of romance for the mc and the girls. sorry if you don't understand my review and rant, because I'm not proficient enough in it. note : please make mc have a harem note+ : if you give me a permission author, can I use your mc character design in my fanfic? because i really like your mc character design that even me that lazy want to write a fanfic that have your mc character in it. note++ : probably i never write a fanfic because my slothfuness, i just asking for just in case situation.
I love his character. He has a dual personality with one being shy, kind and stupid while the other one is brutal, vicious and wild with a bit of sense of reality. The only thing bothering me is the blatant hatred they have towards him. I mean he's already proved himself, I don't know why they haven't accepted him yet.
