Making The Move

Jack had absolutely no intention of trying to persuade Anderson any further. After exchanging a few more words, he abruptly ended the call, knowing that actions spoke louder than words.

"No matter how much we talk, it's always better to let our actions do the talking. That's what truly convinces people," Jack mused to himself as he continued on his way. He decided to give Wick a call.

As the main force in their battles, it was crucial to communicate and notify him in advance.

"Huh?" Wick panted heavily as he answered the phone. "You... better hurry up..."

Jack couldn't help but tease, "Let me guess, you're exercising?"

"Exercise?" Wick paused for a moment before realizing the situation. "Oh, damn... I'm actually on a mission!"

"Oops, my bad," Jack said with a wry smile, remembering the previous times he called Wick and interrupted his intense workouts.

Why did this always happen whenever he called Wick?

"Hurry up... What's the matter?" Wick gasped for breath, and Jack could hear a few muffled gunshots in the background.

"Yeah, I'm stepping out for a while. I've received a massive order. During this time, the High Table might launch an attack on our stronghold," Jack explained.

"Don't worry, I'll handle it. If things get too intense, I'll back off," he assured Wick.

"What?" Wick exclaimed, still catching his breath. "A massive order? How huge does it have to be for you to leave at a time like this?"

"It's a whopping $2.2 billion," Jack replied nonchalantly. "I need to settle the remaining 11 mainland hotels."

Wick was dumbfounded. "Holy crap! $2.2 billion for eleven Continental Hotels? Who on earth would post such a job offer, and why did we accept it? Are you out of your mind?"

Jack chuckled. "Well, yes, perhaps a little crazy. But don't worry, I'll handle it alone. The rest of you just focus on guarding the stronghold and making sure no one steals our abilities, got it?"

Wick frowned, his swift movements taking out enemies as he spoke. "Are you absolutely sure you can handle this? Those are mainland hotels!"

Jack's laughter rang through the phone. "Come on, you've seen what I'm capable of that night. Trust me, even if I can't accomplish it all, I'll definitely find a way out. You guys take care of our turf while I go steal the show!"

With their conversation full of banter and confidence, Jack and Wick continued their respective endeavors, knowing that they could rely on each other when it mattered most.

....

The buzz of sky-high hiring had taken the world by storm, causing everyone to chatter with excitement and anticipation. It was as if the air crackled with the potential of 2.2 billion US dollars, an unimaginable sum of money.

But let's be realistic here. Could an ordinary, run-of-the-mill citizen stumble upon such a fortune, perhaps even on a casual stroll down the road? Well, it's safe to say that such a scenario falls into the realm of fantasy. You see, acquiring 100 million dollars alone would require a safe the size of an average car. So, we can only wonder if someone managed to pick up an entire truckload of money while whistling a merry tune!

Of course, such a notion is preposterous, bordering on the absurd. But let's not lose sight of the bigger picture here – the implications behind this mind-boggling amount. It hints at something much more significant, something that could shake the very foundations of a country.

Aegis, the elder pondered over the situation. He knew that calling the authorities would be futile; it would be like shouting into the wind. Unless he was ready to shed his metaphorical skin and confront the powerful Templars and major countries head-on, he would have to find another solution.

And so, Aegis made up his mind. To tackle the impending crisis, he had to rally all available forces and launch an audacious assault on the Templar headquarters in New York. With a strategic plan in place, he issued orders for the other Continental Hotels to downsize their forces and prepare for the impending attack.

But Aegis wasn't content with merely relying on his existing resources. He had a secret weapon, a group of highly skilled assassins he had been cultivating in the shadows. Sensing the urgency of the situation, he set them in motion, activating the dormant chess pieces that had been hidden away, just in case.

Aegis couldn't shake off the feeling that this crisis would demand every countermeasure he had prepared. It was a high-stakes game.

....

The grand entrance of the Continental Hotel in Rome

The entrance emanated an air of luxury and exclusivity. Its polished marble floors reflected the warm glow of chandeliers, and the sound of hushed conversations filled the opulent lobby. The hotel staff, impeccably dressed in tailored uniforms, attended to the needs of the guests with grace and efficiency.

Amidst the elegant hustle and bustle, a tall and strikingly handsome man made his way through the crowd. His blonde hair was perfectly styled, and his expensive suit exuded sophistication. With each step, he exuded an aura of confidence and control, catching the attention of many onlookers.

As the man walked, the eyes of the assassins present subtly locked onto him, their hands instinctively reaching for the concealed weapons at their sides. The Continental Hotel had received prior notification from Aegis, making it clear that any criminal act committed within its premises would be met with swift and deadly retaliation. The stakes were high, and tensions hung in the air like a taut wire.

Unperturbed by the watchful gazes, the man continued his purposeful stride until he reached the elegant front desk. The receptionist, a dapper black man, raised an eyebrow as he studied the newcomer. It seemed the man's presence had piqued his curiosity.

"Sir?" the receptionist inquired, his voice oozing with professionalism.

Jack offered a faint smile. "You seem to have noticed."

"Of course," the receptionist replied, his eyes twinkling with a mix of amusement and intrigue. "It's not every day we see someone as... unfamiliar as you."

Jack's hand slowly delved into his pocket, a movement that sent a ripple of unease through the surrounding assassins. They tensed, prepared to react at a moment's notice. But their apprehension quickly turned into bewilderment as Jack's hand emerged, revealing a peculiar object that drew gasps from the crowd.

It was a blue-black gold coin—a symbol well-known among the assassins. They recognized its significance instantly.

"I'm the judge," Jack declared, his voice cutting through the silence like a blade. A cold, detached expression adorned his face. "I want to see the owner of this fine establishment."
