.....

Bradley let out an audible sigh of relief, his eyes widening in a mix of surprise and confusion. "As long as you don't join...wait, that's wrong!"

Bradley's voice held a touch of intrigue, as if he had stumbled upon something rather unusual. He leaned in closer, a mischievous glint in his eye. "Want to learn the magic of the Eye without joining the Eye?"

He chuckled, raising an eyebrow as he continued, "Isn't that just it? You don't want to fulfill your responsibilities as a member of the Eye, but you also want the right to, well, let's say, generously share the talents of the Eye members for free? And all those amazing perks?"

Jack couldn't help but chuckle at Bradley's playful banter.

After Bradley's initial reaction, he adopted a more serious tone, his voice firm and unwavering. "No, free lunch! We strictly prohibit such practices!"

Jack, however, seemed willing to compromise. He slightly raised his hands in a gesture of surrender. "Okay, then, how about I consider joining the head office?"

Bradley nodded in agreement. "Deal."

A brief silence fell between them.

"That's wrong! What did I just do!!!" Bradley suddenly exclaimed, his face contorted in disbelief.

After a few seconds of bewilderment, Bradley finally realized the gravity of the situation. He wished he could turn back time and erase his words.

"Did you use confusion magic on me? Or perhaps, mind magic?" Bradley scrutinized Jack with an intensity that bordered on paranoia. "Our Eye will never admit to using such tactics... Wait, what's that in your hand?"

He gestured towards an intriguing object held by Jack.

Jack revealed a small camera he had taken out from his pocket and began to toy with it. "Look, Bradley, you're quite photogenic, you know?"

Bradley's eyes widened in astonishment. "!!!"

"Sir..." Bradley's female assistant, Hermia, approached him gently. "You need to calm down a bit."

She realized that Bradley had nearly fallen into Jack's cunning rhythm and had already given away crucial information, like his membership in the Eye. As an assistant, it was her duty to help Bradley recognize his mistakes and make adjustments to avoid further losses.

Bradley, attempting to change the course of the conversation, muttered, "I need to use the restroom..." Using a mysterious technique known as the "urine escape," he made a hasty exit, clearly trying to evade the awkward situation.

As Bradley retreated, Jack made no attempt to stop him. The effectiveness of the "urine escape" technique was impressive, especially when used against non-hostile individuals. Jack had no intention of severing ties with Bradley just yet.

With Bradley out of the picture temporarily, Jack turned his attention to Bradley's female assistant, Hermia. His eyes gleamed with curiosity and interest.

"So..." Jack began with a charming smile, "Ms. Hermia, shall we have a chat?"

Hermia's response was a surprised, "Huh..."

....

After splashing cold water on his face in the bathroom, Bradley found himself lingering instead of hurrying out. He inhaled deeply, savoring the unique scent of the restroom. It wasn't just a fragrance; it was an atmosphere, a brief respite from the whirlwind of events that had unfolded so quickly.

Calm down, Bradley told himself repeatedly as he leaned against the washbasin.

Finally regaining his composure, Bradley began to grasp the gravity of the situation. Jack had skillfully extracted a wealth of information from him with just a few words. The secrecy of the Eye, Bradley's affiliation with the society, and even the existence of magic within the society—all these closely guarded secrets had been laid bare by him.

The realization hit Bradley like a bolt of lightning, and he winced in pain. As a dedicated magician and a member of the Eye, he possessed a formidable arsenal of magical knowledge and skills, gained through years of rigorous training and study. It was precisely because of this expertise that he now felt a deep sense of regret, for he knew that Jack hadn't employed any magic during their conversation. In other words, Jack had extracted this wealth of information purely through cunning words and manipulation.

"Fuck!" Bradley muttered to himself in frustration, shaking his head. He splashed his face with water once more, took a deep breath, and willed himself to calm down. He needed to think of a plan, a way to counteract the damage already done.

Despite his advancing age, Bradley possessed a wealth of experience in handling complex situations. Jack's unconventional tactics had caught him off guard initially, but now he was determined to regain control of the situation. As he dried his face, Bradley began to formulate a strategy.

"When I return, I won't be swayed by anything he says. I won't allow him to join our ranks or learn our magic," Bradley resolved firmly, his mind set on this course of action.

However, as he opened the office door, a surprising sight awaited him. His female assistant, Hermia, was engaged in a lively conversation with Jack. They seemed to be getting along EXCEPTIONALLY well.

Bradley's eyes widened in disbelief. "Fuck you, Jack!!"

Hermia was more than just an assistant to Bradley; she was like a daughter to him. He had raised her since childhood and treated her as his own. With no wife or biological offspring, Hermiawas the closest thing he had to family. As she grew older, Bradley had taken it upon himself to teach her magic and the knowledge of the Eye. His plan was to eventually introduce her to the society, ensuring her future security after his passing.

This was why Hermiahad been privy to the secrets of the Eye and magic. It was all part of Bradley's long-term plan to secure her future.

Now, faced with the unexpected friendship forming between Hermia and Jack, Bradley couldn't help but wonder how this development might alter his carefully laid plans.
