The Dimensional Wrench Makes An Appearance

Jim was about to shoot and stopped because of the sudden knock on the door. Jim's finger twitched on the trigger but hesitated as the knocking persisted. The sudden interruption had thrown him off guard, and he wasn't sure what to do next.

Ethan could sense Jim's hesitation and the opportunity it presented. He had hoped to disarm Jim, but now he was rethinking his plan. He didn't want anyone to get hurt, including himself.

A voice outside the door interrupted his thoughts as he weighed his options. "Who's in there?" the voice demanded. "This is the luggage room. I'm the train manager. Passengers are not allowed to enter here!"

Jim shook his gun and signaled for Claire to open the door. As she did, a man stepped inside, closing the door behind him. "Hello, Agent Claire," he greeted her with a smile.

Jim's gun was pointed at the newcomer. "Who are you?" he demanded, his finger still hovering on the trigger.

"Who do you think I am?" Jacked asked playfully.

Jim's mind raced. Was this another agent or an innocent bystander caught in the crossfire? However, he didn't have time to think as Jack's next words made his blood run cold.

"The CIA?" Jim sputtered, trying to mask his fear with bravado. "Forget it. It doesn't matter who you are. As long as you die, you are nothing!"

Ethan couldn't believe what he was hearing. Jim had gone too far, and now they were all in danger. He looked at Claire, then at Jack, hoping they had a plan.

Jack seemed unperturbed by Jim's threats. "You know, I've always wanted to be a train manager," he quipped, a sly grin on his face. "It is so much fun."

Jim didn't appreciate the humor. "Enough talk," he growled.

But Jack wasn't ready to give up the banter just yet. "Oh, come on," he said with a chuckle. "Can't we at least introduce ourselves first? I'm Jack. Who are you?"

Jim glared at him, but Ethan could see the tension in his body ease just slightly. Maybe Jack's lighthearted approach was working.

"I'm Jim," the agent finally replied, still holding his gun steady. "And these are my associates, Claire and Ethan."

Jack nodded to each of them in turn.

Ethan bristled at being referred to as an associate, but he knew Jack was just trying to diffuse the situation. He decided to play along.

"Nice to meet you," he said with a wry smile. "Although I wish it were under better circumstances."

Jack chuckled again. "Yeah, me too," he agreed. "But hey, at least we're all in this together now, right?"

Jim glared at Jack, his finger still on the trigger. Ethan could feel the tension building again, but Jack seemed unfazed.

"So, Jim," he said casually. "What's the plan? You gonna shoot us all and make a run for it?"

Jim hesitated, caught off guard by Jack's question. Ethan could see the doubt flicker in his eyes.

"Or," Jack continued, "we could all just put down our guns and talk this out like civilized people. What do you say?"

Ethan held his breath as Jim considered Jack's proposal. He knew it was a long shot, but maybe, just maybe, they could find a peaceful resolution.

As soon as Jim's words left his mouth, he aimed and fired at Jack without hesitation.

"BANG!"

"Nailed it!" Jim exclaimed triumphantly, but his expression quickly turned to shock when he saw Jack standing still, unfazed by the gunshot.

"No!" Ethan shouted, but his voice caught in his throat.

Jack looked down at his chest, where the bullet had made a hole in his shirt, revealing a silvery object underneath.

"I have to say, Agent Jim," Jack said with a smile, "you're quite accurate. But it takes more than a gunshot to take me down."

He reached into his shirt and pulled out an extremely large silver wrench. Aka, The Dimensional Wrench

"I used to be a car mechanic and did a damn good job at it. So, naturally, I carry a wrench with me everywhere I go."

Jack's wrench seemed to have appeared out of thin air, which didn't sit well with Jim. "What kind of crazy person carries a wrench in their shirt?" he thought.

But he didn't have much time to dwell on it before Jack suddenly lunged at him with the wrench.

Jim panicked and fired again, aiming for Jack's head this time.

"BANG!"

Jim sighed in relief, but to his shock, Jack was still standing, unfazed by the gunshot once again.

"The marksmanship is impressive, Agent Jim," Jack said, holding up his wrench. "But you'll have to do better than that if you want to take me down."

Jim was sweating profusely now. "Who the hell are you?" he demanded.

"I used to be a mechanic," Jack replied casually. "But that's not important. What's important is that I'm here now, and you're in trouble."

Jack started walking towards Jim, who backed away, pointing his gun at Jack. "Don't come any closer!"

But Jack didn't seem to care. He kept walking towards Jim, and Jim fired again.

"BANG!"

"Finally!" Jim shouted triumphantly, but to his surprise, the bullet hit Jack's wrench once again.

"It's too slow, Agent Jim," Jack said, still approaching Jim. "Your gun is too slow."

Jack's situation was unlike anything Ethan or Claire had ever seen before.

Not only was his reaction speed lightning-fast, but his physical strength was off the charts too. It was as if his hardware and software were more than thirteen times the limit of the human body. This kind of superhuman ability couldn't be measured just by looking at some paper data.

Jack had once tested his reaction speed and found that it had reached an astonishing 0.0008 seconds under normal conditions. As he advanced towards Jim, the distance between them closed rapidly. Jim fired all six bullets from his revolver, but by the time he had shot the last one, Jack was only one meter away.

With the speed of the bullet at 400m/s, it took just 0.0025s for the bullet to travel one meter. This meant that Jack could see the bullet's trajectory and block it with the wrench he held in his hand.

"BANG! CLANG!"

"BANG! CLANG!"

"BANG! CLANG!"

Jack blocked every bullet coming his way until he finally stood right before Jim. By this point, Jim had already emptied his gun and had no means of counterattack.

"I'm an IRS dispatched commissioner, responsible for investigating your illegal income and tax evasion," Jack revealed, brandishing his official certificate.

Jim's confidence faltered as fear crept into his face. He didn't care whether Jack was actually an IRS employee or whether he was investigating his tax evasion or not. He felt as though his entire worldview had been shattered.

Claire, who had been standing by, could only watch in disbelief. She had no idea what to make of this superhuman being who had just easily taken down Jim. While Ethan rolled his eyes at Jack's antiques.

"Are you really human?" Jim stammered, looking at Jack with a mixture of awe and fear.

"Of course I am," Jack replied, smiling before pulling off his human skin mask to reveal his true identity.

"But are you?" he added with a sly grin. "That's something to think about."

"BANG!"

Before Jim could respond, Jack swung his wrench and hit him hard. He had to hold back his strength, of course, or Jim's head would have exploded like a watermelon.

With a muffled thud, Jim crumpled to the ground. Jack had made his point.
