Friends With Benefits

The next morning, Jack woke up feeling refreshed and ready to take on the day. Carlos had sent him a list of people the Brotherhood of Assassins assassinated. Jack's task was to find out who profited from these deaths. These were the people most likely to be working with Sloan.

He also decided to complete his assessment task from the Continental Hotel along the way.

Once he completed his assessment task, he could start investigating. His plan was to search for anyone who had been put on the hit list of the Continental Hotel for their cooperation with Sloan. If he found anyone, he would take their heads and use them to reduce Sloan's forces and also receive the rewards from the hotel.

But it wasn't just about taking down Sloan. Jack also wanted to impress John Wick and earn his respect. He planned to show off his skills and slowly pull Wick into the Knights Templar. After all, they both wanted to maintain the order of the world.

As Jack left his room, he couldn't help but overhear a heated argument between two "femme killers" in the next room. They argued about their activities from the previous night, and it was clear they had exhausted themselves.

"Can you still move?" one asked the other.

"I can, but I don't want to," came the reply.

"Me too... I really want to keep doing this..."

Jack couldn't help but smirk. It seemed like the roles had reversed this time. But he had a mission to focus on, and he had to stay on track.

As he made his way to the lobby, the receptionist greeted him with a smile. However, she quickly apologized for the noise from his room the previous night. Jack shrugged it off, insisting that the hotel's sound insulation was the problem.

But to his surprise, the receptionist handed him several car keys. "As an apology for the inconvenience, please accept these as a gift from the hotel," she said.

Jack was impressed. "Very generous of you," he replied, taking the keys. "Consider it forgiven."

"Wow, thank you so much for being understanding. We promise to make your stay more comfortable," the front desk attendant said, bowing slightly. "By the way, do you want to inquire about your initial assessment?"

Jack nodded. "Yes, please."

"You must accept the initial assessment within one month and complete a D-level task. After completing the task successfully, you can pay a fee of five gold coins to become a regular," the front desk attendant explained.

"You can accept the task offline or online, and you can do it at the front desk or on our official confidential website. Do you want to pick it up now?"

"I'll take care of it myself," Jack replied. "And please let Wick know that I'll be leaving first. I don't want to forget my promise to him."

"I'll pass that along, sir," the receptionist said.

Jack left the hotel and saw a luxury sports car parked outside. A man in a suit opened the door and gestured for him to get in. "Thank you," Jack said as he got into the car.

He skillfully started the car and drove away. His next stop was to find an information merchant and buy some information. Jack preferred to buy rather than waste time investigating it himself. The Continental Hotel's intelligence organization was powerful, so he could get what he wanted if he paid enough gold coins.

After buying the information he needed, Jack returned to the hotel. He would meet with Carlos to discuss their next move, but first, he had one more thing to do.

"Excuse me," the front desk attendant said, looking puzzled. "Can I help you with something?"

"Well, I just realized something important," Jack said. "My family isn't here."

"I'm sorry, sir. What do you mean?" the front desk attendant asked, confused.

"I mean, when you gave me this car, didn't you consider that I have nowhere to store it?" Jack put the car key on the counter. "Please exchange it for US dollars and put it on my card. That's all. Thank you."

Jack realized his funds were tight, so he planned to sell the car, even though it was top-of-the-line and had no monitoring facilities. The only problem was the person he was going to sell it to...

The front desk attendant was stunned. "I need to ask the person in charge first," she said, trying to hide her shock.

"Please hurry," Jack said, waving his hand. "I have a mission to complete and need to catch a plane."

"Don't worry, sir. If you miss your flight, we'll arrange a special plane for you," the front desk attendant reassured him before leaving to speak with Winston, the person in charge.

The Continental Hotel compensates killers who have had a bad experience. Still, they're not so generous as to give away sports cars and luxury vehicles. Jack was lucky to receive such compensation, thanks to Winston's gesture.

After hearing Wick's evaluation of Jack yesterday, Winston sent someone to investigate all the information about him. However...

Winston couldn't believe it. Jack appeared to be a regular guy on paper. Still, the evaluation from his friend Wick was enough to make him cautious. If even Wick thought Jack was superior, who was he to question it?

Winston was still scratching his head, wondering what kind of person Jack really was, when he received the call from the receptionist. He suspected that Jack had some powerful force behind him, a force that even the hotel's intelligence network couldn't detect. Thus he gifted Jack a luxury sports car and a million dollars.

As for Jack, he couldn't help but smirk at the gift. He wasn't used to being treated so well, especially not by strangers. But he knew that this was just the beginning.

The hotel front desk clerk looked at Jack in awe as if he was some sort of celebrity. "Mr. Jack, we hope to make friends with you," he said with reverence.

Jack's eyes lit up mischievously. "Well, I like making friends with generous people," he said, flashing a charming smile. "Tell Mr. Winston he can count me as his friend now."

The clerk nodded eagerly, happy to have made a new acquaintance. Jack couldn't help but chuckle to himself. He knew that he was just getting started and that there were plenty more people out there who would be eager to be his friend once they saw what he was capable of.

Jack knows exactly what Winston is up to. He would not refuse such kindness, because Winston was also on his wooing list. Of course, if someone on Jack's must-kill list showed his favor to Jack in this way, Jack would also accept it without hesitation, and then... when making the final move, he would choose the quick and painless one for them.
