"I don't know your name yet," Selina stated cautiously, her previous arrogance evaporating. Taking a deep breath, she asked earnestly, "What brings you here?"

"Jack," he replied simply, his gaze penetrating. "And what about you?"

"How do you know my name?" Selina inquired, her curiosity piqued.

"I know more than you think," Jack retorted cryptically, his words laden with implication.

"I'm here part-time," Selina fibbed bluntly, opting for a direct lie.

"Haha..." Jack chuckled, a sly glint in his eyes. "Are we really going to play this game?"

"Then I'll leave," Selina declared, lifting her brows, taking a couple of steps backward, and turning to flee.

But before she could make her escape...

"Leave? Where would you go?" Jack interposed, blocking Selina's path.

Selina's eyes widened in disbelief.

How... how was this possible? I turned away, yet he's still in front of me!

"How... how did you do that?" Selina stammered, sensing she was up against a formidable opponent.

"I'm not always in the mood for frivolous encounters, especially with someone I'm interested in," Jack explained with a smirk. "So, what do you say to my earlier proposition?"

"If I'm the woman you're interested in, shouldn't you respect my wishes and let me go?" Selina countered, her tone firm.

"That's not how it works. I'm not foolish," Jack retorted.

"Then I'll be angry," Selina warned.

"...And?"

"So I won't pay you any mind."

"Fine by me. I don't mind coercing you into conversation."

Of course, this line from Jack is mere banter. He is typically principled, but negotiating with Catwoman calls for a touch of cunning, a sprinkle of deception, just the right amount.

"You shameless bastard!" Selina exclaimed, visibly startled.

Having such strength and being shameless? What a combination! It goes to show that people shouldn't be judged solely by their appearance. Even Selina, with her keen interest in diamonds and jewelry, couldn't deny Jack's good looks.

"It's true that many women have scolded me like this, but you seem to be the first one to scold me before they even getting started," Jack remarked.

"What do I need to do for you to let me go?" Selina inquired, already eager to escape.

Subconsciously, Selina realized that leaving this place unscathed today would be a stroke of luck.

"Tell me the purpose of your coming here," Jack demanded, "I'm very interested in this."

"...I heard that today is billionaire Bruce Wayne's birthday party, so I came specifically to steal jewelry!" Selina declared her intention after a brief thought.

"It sounds true, but it always feels like something is missing," Jack remarked. "You are hiding something; this is just one of your purposes."

"You're wrong. This is the purpose of my coming here," Selina insisted, her gaze unwavering.

"Are you sure you can deceive a psychology master?" Jack pointed to his eyes. "I have seen everything, Selina Kyle. Your expression control isn't good enough. You told some truth, but you also hid a lot."

"At least I answered half of it," Selina pondered for a moment, a sly smile appearing on her face. "Now, if you ask one question each, you won't refuse such a request, right?"

"Interesting," Jack nodded. "Tell me."

"Why did you give me this bottle of antidote?" Selina raised the syringe in her palm. "I'm pretty sure I'm not poisoned."

"Yes, but I won't know for sure after that. ," Jack said, "This involves a conspiracy by a terrorist organization. They are trying to create a poisonous gas that envelopes Gotham..."

"Wait, I'm sure I don't want to hear it." Selina's expression changed and she quickly interrupted. .

She doesn't want to get involved in something of this level!

"But you've heard it..." Jack said,

"You told me!"

"Isn't that what you asked for?"

Jack said, leaving Selena speechless.

"Then, can't I pretend that I don't know?" Selina pretended to be aggrieved.

However, this level of moral integrity is still far behind Jack.

If she could turn into a cat, maybe Jack would let her go... No, then she would have to stay!

"What do you think?" Jack asked, "Well, you don't need to tell me, just let me guess. If I guess right..."

"Will you let me go?" Selina's eyes lit up.

"I'll invite you to be my dance partner tonight."

"Are you kidding?" Selena was speechless. "Then what if you didn't guess correctly?"

"Then wait until you guess correctly."
