Catwoman

"Wait a minute, how long has it been?" Gordon glanced back, still seeing the Gotham Police Department building. "Did you just handle them all in a matter of minutes?"

He looked bewildered.

Could just a few people handle something that could endanger the whole city?

"Of course, you don't know my abilities," Jack replied. "Come here quickly, hang up first, I need to call another person."

Jack's mind wandered to the scene of Catwoman lying on the Batmobile, and suddenly, his eyes lit up.

Even though it was still early in the timeline of Batman Part 3, Catwoman had already made her debut in other cities. If Jack wanted to find her, he had various ways.

But for now, his priority was to advance his career to a higher level.

Jack called Bruce.

Bruce answered the phone with an unpleasant tone, "What's the matter?"

"Let me guess, the conversation with Ms. Rachel didn't go well?" Jack sensed something amiss and couldn't resist gloating.

"I'll hang up if I don't have anything to do." Bruce's said in annoyance.

.....

Bruce had just gone directly to the court where Rachel was.

For someone with Bruce's wealth, even a Lamborghini was considered low-key. However, Bruce, being Bruce, valued an inconspicuous presence. So, he drove this car to find Rachel.

But as a person with the financial means he had, Bruce's interpretation of low-key was quite different from what ordinary people understood.

He ended up drawing everyone's attention in the courtroom. And Rachel wasn't thrilled about it.

"I'm a woman dedicated to her work! Even though you have money, looks, physique, and a good attitude towards me, I'm passionate about my career. I love working and want to be a champion of justice! Now that you've drawn so much attention to me, how can I focus on upholding justice?"

Observing Bruce's playboy facade, Rachel couldn't hide her frustration. Succumbing to societal expectations, she reluctantly went out with Bruce, engaging in a brief conversation that ended in a chilly return.

Their exchange unfolded as Bruce, adopting a concerned tone, advised Rachel to focus on her safety and relinquish her pursuit of prosecuting Falconi's men due to the inherent dangers. Rachel, in response, questioned the rationale behind Bruce's suggestion.

Bruce attempted to explain, citing his awareness of the risks through undisclosed channels. Meanwhile, Rachel emphasized her commitment to justice and questioned the efficacy of security guards without someone like Bruce who could step beyond legal boundaries when needed. The conversation hit an impasse.

In the aftermath, Rachel, after delivering a few cutting remarks, turned away, leaving Bruce stung by her words.

This moment marked Bruce's early stages, far from the Batman he would eventually become. The Batman persona would evolve through trials, losses, and moral dilemmas, molding Bruce into the iconic figure capable of enduring the challenges posed by villains like the Joker.

.....

When Jack questioned Bruce about his encounter with Rachel, Bruce was hurt by his words. Jack, with a smile, reminded Bruce that he had foreseen the failure, referencing his earlier suggestion that Bruce had rejected.

While Jack hadn't predicted the specific events, his understanding of the characters' personalities and behavioral patterns allowed him to foresee the likely outcome. The clash between Bruce's playboy facade and Rachel's unwavering commitment to justice made the failure of their interaction almost inevitable, setting the stage for the challenges that lay ahead for Bruce on his path to becoming Batman.

Jack, with a tinge of cynicism, evaluated Bruce as nothing more than an idealist lacking the ability to assess situations effectively. Inevitably, conflict arose, aligning with Jack's expectations.

Bruce, intrigued, inquired, "How did you guess?"

"I've picked up more girls than you've ever imagine," Jack retorted with a smirk. "It's not just about throwing money, Mr. Bruce. I have a lot of experience in these matters. If you want to know the method, I'll tell you later. Right now, I need to discuss something serious with you. Where are you?"

Bruce provided an address.

"Ah, got it. How long does it take to get from there to Arkham Asylum on Narrows Island?" Jack inquired.

Bruce, somewhat surprised, responded, "Don't you know where I am? It'll take about half an hour."

"Half an hour for just that street?" Jack chuckled, typing a playful "haha." "Anyway, that's not why I called. I want to discuss a significant matter that could jeopardize the entire Gotham City. If we handle it well, it could greatly enhance our future actions."

Bruce's thoughts shifted from personal matters to the looming threat on the city. "What is it?"

Setting aside personal considerations, Bruce recognized the need to focus on the impending danger.

"You come here first, and then we'll talk," Jack advised. "And, it would be wise to drive something low-key. I'm worried your car might attract unwanted attention."

Bruce, with a hint of humor, asked, "Is a Lamborghini LP640 considered low-key?"

Jack, momentarily speechless, replied, "Do you have a misunderstanding about the definition of low-key?"

Despite his past wealth, Jack had to accept the reality of his current situation in this world. "For now, let's stick to something less conspicuous."
