Batman The New Cop

The media frenzy surrounding recent events reached a crescendo as various outlets vied for insights into Gotham's latest developments.

"Batman uncovered the organization's conspiracy and approached me and Jack. Thanks to Mr. Bruce Wayne's invaluable support, we managed to produce a substantial quantity of antidotes before the organization could strike," Gordon revealed to reporters during the interview.

"Can you divulge Batman's true identity?" a persistent reporter inquired.

"I'm afraid not. Batman's identity remains a mystery to me. What's important is his dedication to Gotham's welfare. We need more individuals like him to join our cause of revitalizing our city... In fact, I'm pleased to announce that Batman will be officially sworn in as a special constable, granting him law enforcement powers!"

"Officer Gordon, are you authorized to make such a decision?" another reporter pressed.

"As acting chief of the Gotham City Police Department, I possess the authority to appoint special constables," Gordon affirmed confidently.

"Regarding the former police chief's corruption charges, how do you plan to address public concerns?" a journalist probed.

"I assure you, I have no intention of engaging in such misconduct. The trust of Gotham's citizens is paramount to me," Gordon stated firmly.

"What's your opinion of Mr. Bruce Wayne?" a reporter queried.

"Mr. Wayne is a philanthropist dedicated to Gotham's progress. Despite his wealth and social status, he remains committed to our city's betterment," Gordon praised.

"Is your positive view of Mr. Wayne influenced by any financial contributions?" the reporter pressed.

"I stand by my statements. Mr. Wayne's contributions speak for themselves," Gordon replied diplomatically.

"What's your take on Wayne Group's expansion plans?" another journalist interjected.

"I believe increased investment in Gotham's future is a positive step. More companies means more opportunities for growth and development," Gordon expressed optimistically.

"And about Officer Jack..." the reporter began, only to be interrupted by a playful tease.

"I see where this is going," Gordon chuckled. "Unfortunately, I don't have Officer Jack's contact details. But who knows? Maybe he'll make an appearance for that exclusive interview," he quipped, a hint of amusement in his tone.

...

"How's it looking?" Jack chuckled, glancing at the live broadcast on the TV screen before turning to Bruce beside him.

"All the reporters at the press conference are under our control, and the questions are all prearranged... Well, except for that last one," Bruce sighed, shaking his head. "If anything can go wrong, it will... By the way, why do you think that reporter asked for your contact information?"

"Perhaps because I exude more charm than you," Jack joked, stifling a yawn. "Anyway, I was referring to our grand scheme. How do you think it's unfolding?"

"Seamlessly," Bruce asserted confidently.

"The true identity of Batman remains flawlessly hidden. After our joint announcement, there will be no doubt about my alter ego," Bruce's excitement bubbled. "And with Batman granted legal authority, it's a devastating blow to the criminal underworld!"

"Moreover, with Gordon poised to ascend to commissioner, Wayne Group's growth will remain unimpeded, and your public image will be fully restored... And with Rachel elevated to judge, she's privy to your secret, eliminating the need for covert actions," Jack added.

"Thank you," Bruce expressed his gratitude sincerely.

"Don't mention it, just remember our agreement. Oh, and you do remember how to fulfill it, right?" Jack waved dismissively.

"Of course," Bruce affirmed. "I've categorized it as your compensation for saving Gotham from catastrophe..."

"Exactly," Jack snapped his fingers in satisfaction.

"Oh, and speaking of associates, where's your former dancing partner?" Bruce inquired, recalling another matter.

"She's probably long gone by now," Jack chuckled, "I'll have to track her down once we're done here."

He had set Selena free, confident she wouldn't put up much resistance. After all, Jack had left his mark.

But chasing down thieves wasn't Jack's primary job; that was for the police. He hadn't had any leisure time since arriving in this world, and he was overdue for some global exploration.

Plus, there were lingering mysteries about Gotham's future. Would the notorious villains like the Joker and Riddler resurface? And what of the Court of Owls, a group absent from the original storyline? Jack was determined to uncover the truth.

Bruce, ever curious, inquired about Selena's affiliations. "She's not one of yours?" he asked.

Jack shook his head. "Just your average jewel thief. She had her sights set on Wayne Manor the same day she planted those bugs. Quite the multitasker."

Bruce acknowledged the information, but Jack issued a warning. "Keep a close eye on your girlfriend," he advised. "I won't let her get kidnapped on my watch."

Their discussion shifted to Gotham's rogues gallery. "The Joker and Two-Face haven't shown their faces yet," Jack remarked, "but mark my words, they will."

As the conversation carried on, Jack realized he'd indulged in quite a bit of alcohol. "No wonder I'm feeling dizzy," he laughed. It was time to sober up and refocus on the task at hand.
