I'm disappointed the framing of the relationship is just the mc having a hero complex, like bro you can't save someone when you try and help them with a predator and they tell you that you sound jealous. It just makes her look bad him look like a whimp and just left a bad taste in my mouth if only he had asked her out more organically then I would have no problem its not the romance itself that I'm critiquing it's how it was introduced.

He shouldn’t have to ask her out to get her to listen to him. If she won’t listen to professional and personal advice, and deserves what she gets. Also, is there a reason he can’t be more direct? I don't think the author is forcing it, he has a very valid point and you notice that during the other chapters they have an attraction for each other so the fact that he is asking her to be his girlfriend now doesn't seem bad or very forced, on the contrary it isn't forced but I think it's the question of what is the right time to ask for a date the issue here is that sometimes it's never the right time you pray for a miracle and then you jump in he saw this as the right time and it was for a chance that this problem and also danger appeared so if you see it from my point of view then it wasn't forced then sir.
