He should have killed Robert. It would have caused chaos and chaos is a ladder. Against the diminished barantheon forces he would have won and the starks would be hard pressed to support them especially after the baby killing and him having the boltons in his back pocket. Perhaps only the vale would support the storm lands with dorne siding with lannisters and perhaps even the reach.
yeah, dropping this. the fact he let Elia and the kids die by the hands of Robert is a big mistake. They would not support a king who killed their defenseless princess in cold blood. Dorne would pull out and declare independence again, the feud between the Stormland and Dorne would be reignited again. Raids and assassinations among the houses that supported Robert will happen in the up coming years. Remember Dorne was not conquered by the Targaryens even when they have the support of dragons. heck Aegon almost got assassinated when he tried.
All these schemes, yet the MC hasn't done anything significant. The reason why people like Varys and Little Finger schemes so much is because they they neither have the same upbringing and physicality as others have, so they have to retort such underhanded means to gain power and influence. Yet the MC has everything he could as for in a world like GOT, and even more. However, you still made the MC a bystander. There are countless opportunities during the tourney AND Robert's Rebellion, yet he's still there and hasn't yet done anything remarkable. All these talk about pride and making others talk about his pride when he's barely done anything but watch from faraway. This should be the time when you show us more and talk less. This is the difference between a below average story and a good one.
Sûre pride is his character but he is becoming a bit too one dimensional to be an interesting character... hé was much better ine thée chapter before. Hé can be strong and intelligent. But being so much above other that everything looks like ants... whats the point of the story,n If your MC do not care and find everything pityull why should we care ? Investment come from care. You cant have both à non carring MC and à non carring story while retaining an invested audience
loving the novel truly, I really just hope it won't be one of those with SI that technically change things but the story stays mostly the same. with the lannisters being free of guilt from dorne and escanor being op af they should EASILY take over westeros by the time the war of the five kings actually starts.
Dude You say basicly Every chapter so far How Supper Pridefull he has become, YOU say Tywin Thinks Escanor is Supper Pridefull . You paint your characters in that Light your reader see them as and then you just go yolo and flip the Board becase you forgott what you did write in past Chapters . Then again IF he is bored he could fight and have fun, he could make Money with Ideas--> Also making the Risk game is like Supper Giga Dumb you know Why?? Who makes ALL the figures the game needs ? Paint and Carve the Boards out of wood thats like weeks work just for 1 Board and Figures + Paint is expensive Also Smallfolk cant Read so explaining and knowing where what is Dificult not to say the Rules of the Game. Why not saying he gave Streetlights to the City with his powers. Its shortsightend . A Variant from Shogi would prolly be way better and only for the Lords. Again Author san you say 2+2=5 gets called out on it and the get a Temper Tantrum for the Reader not just acepting your logic
Sounds more like he wanted Tywin's approval. And he might not be Escanor but he still has a lot of pride.A truly prideful person will not resort to schemes. After all, what good would scheming do to him other than get Tywin's approval? He's rich, if the Lannister's run out of gold he can just kill and take the money of slavers. He doesn't need to prove his strength. He doesn't need the war to deliver the end to the maesters. If you wanna portray a prideful character, you must ride through the decision. People will just mock you if you change your mind in the middle. Authors always reason out that it's difficult to make an interesting plot for their character because they're either too powerful, dull, or boring. Then why even pick out the character, power, or setting? It's one thing making the deck to appease Tywin cause he's his father but to scheme for something as insignificant as GOT while having the power of Escanor??This would've been more believable if you didn't add in his increasing pride but come on...
Umm… I feel like you saying in the authors note about him scheming and then all of a sudden just him sitting there pitying everything bellow the sun feels odd. As in he turning into the anime character. I thought you were going to make the MC take pride in his schemes and legacy and such. Just saying because it kinda felt odd. Like you felt what all the people where saying last chapter and went down the middle Road.
Simply disappointing that the MC is so passive, he could order Lannister subordinates to kidnap Ellia and her children and hand them over to Robert in exchange for land or other things, or simply hand Ellia and her children over to the Martell in exchange for benefits and a powerful ally, and an undying Martell gratitude/loyalty.
the protagonist is a jerk, being a mature adult in the modern world I thought he would take pride better, but he became a proud lannister. I don't care so much that the SI is intelligent and intriguing, as long as his schemes or plans are well written or thought out, which never happened. I don't understand why the mc is a Tywin simp, as a character he's fine, but as a father and a person he's disgusting, why does the mc try so hard to please him or interact with him? I don't understand the protagonist's goal either, he really wants to be king of a medieval empire ? With the power he already has, I don't see any benefit to him since he doesn't seem to care about ordinary people. When you have an op protagonist, generally in the novels they tend to focus more on the interaction of characters and what the mc do to avoid getting bored, something that is somewhat lacking in this novel.
