Nah, George is Jonathan Joestar’s father and we don’t know Jonathan’s grandfather’s name so presumably it’s this guy. The time period makes sense for that as well.
Considering that the Maw gives out its ability to anyone that survives its abduction then he’ll inevitably get at least 2 eternal abilities as long as he keeps getting stronger.
Specters as said in this chapter can’t feel hungry, thirsty, tired, bored, or whatever. The talker produces zephyx through social exhaustion, talking to another specter would never produce zephyx because they would never get exhausted.
Probably works on the principle of making a barrier of Zephyx around what you want to hide, bending the light around you, and not letting sounds or smells out.
So the question is, does this world have zero social mobility? If you are born with a commoner class is it impossible for you to ever become anything else? This doesn’t make much sense because even commoners should be able to join the military and become soldiers.
It would seem like popular would have less karma points than those who are extremely ordinary, those who go unnoticed and that few people have any strong feelings towards. Popular people have to deal with envious and jealous people, and there might be people making up bad rumors about them.
1st master didn’t know he was talented, the 3rd was actively hostile to him before deciding to teach him, the being that sacrifices itself to give him a power up knew him for less than 5 minutes. The blacksmith was the most reasonable example, only made to look unreasonable by its similarity to the other examples.
He doesn’t necessarily, he just knows that most organizations in the second world are actively hostile to players. The enemy of enemy is my friend essentially.
Honestly the bigger the power difference between ranks the more I like it. I hate when the mc is able to kill people more than a realm above their own cultivation. Make it seem like killing someone even one level above you is incredibly difficult so that when the mc does it’s a big achievement.
“Oh no our great family lineage cannot be marred by the presence of … ADHD!!!” “How horrifying to think that our child is still much better than average because of their photographic memory!!!”
It’s fine I just prefer in system novels that the system is more simplistic. That it’s just a tool that the mc happens to have and not an entity with its own goals/agenda. The more comprehensive it is and more problems it solves, the less agency the mc has.
This is a kinda disappointing development. I wish his system just did two things, tell the mc what talents/special abilities someone has and copy them. That should be plenty. Now it’s explaining stuff to him, it has missions, it has insight mode, it’s just unnecessary. Let the mc accomplish things through his own hard work, copying people’s talents is already enough of an advantage.
