This novel is good for a quick fun read. It is definitely a comedy genre novel, so don’t click on it expecting dog-blood drama or hot-blooded protagonists. Personally, I think that the best part of this novel is learning about the alternate earth that it is set in. Humans can live to be over 200 years old, with the publically known oldest being 280. Of course, the MC is several hundred millenia old, and has the historical artifacts to prove it. Summary: popular alternate-universe celebrities are participating in a reality tv series, and happen to encounter the MC who is living in a small village. The MC’s house is full of super-expensive items, which shocke the world when experts analyze it. For the public, even the food the MC eats can make A-level celebrities bankrupt, but to the MC it’s just low-level items that he’s been gifted ‘recently’. TLDR: a good comest story for a quick read, but almost no potential as a popular novel
The writing is not the cleanest, but it’s not terrible either. More importantly, the plot is rather fresh and the pacing and story development are pretty good. Like most rebirth novels, the first couple chapters have a few infodumps. Once you get past this, it is a very decent sci-fi novel. Something important to note is that humanity is a very low-tier interstellar civilization, and as the quote goes, “any sufficiently advanced technology is infistinguishable from magic.” Expect a few elements that seem like they belong in a game, like raiding alternate dimensions to level up your gear (this is essentially dungeon runs).
From the first 20 chapters, this is very well written. The MC didn’t transmigrate, but reincarnated instead from human to scorpion. Because of this, he knows a bit about the secrets of the world that he stumbled onto before he died. There are people with superpowers! One of my favorite parts is that the MC’s personality isn’t an extreme like ‘ruthless and cold’ or ‘saint’ but is instead a complex moral compass that the MC actually thinks about before acting. I am hooked instantly, and cannot wait for more!!
Actually, his talent is pretty good for the world he is in (it’s just that the sect has all the utmost top talents from around the world, so he is low in comparison). He actually has much higher talent than most other sign-in MC’s, it’s just that he doesn’t get several hundred years of experience in a single sign-in like they do.
A lot of people don’t like sign-in novels, which I understand. Sign-in novels aren’t popular because of the golden finger and the MC, though; this type of novel is geared towards exploring wirld development, I think. This particular novel is a great example of that: the MC’s main feature is that he has a very solid temperament, which prevents a lot of the ‘typical misunderstandings that cause 3 story arcs’ scenarios. Personally, I enjoy reading about a hidden expert watching the world slowly change around them and only intervening every once in a while. The relaxed nature soothes my soul and makes for good downtime reading.
Okay so the world in thsi novel is basically Gate: and thus the JSDF Fought There if a kid from an elite family found the gate before they were attacked. The plot is pretty good; the MC is fairly intelligent and thinks things through, but is reasonable and knows his limits pretty welll. Reccommended!
