I like how we get to see how the main character is adapting to everything around him but I feel his complexities can be expressed more. The author is doing a great job in keeping readers hooked!

The second chapter was great, I think you should work on your transitions though as you move forward so it'll be easier for your reader to catch up with your flow.

I love it! can I suggest using grammarly(the free version) to edit your work? there are some places where spaces are needed and makes it quite hard to read but overall this a good first chapter.
