Reconstructions and celebrations

The new construction projects worldwide were designed by world-class architects and engineers with a future perspective in mind. These designs were then passed to the different companies to begin rapid construction based on their competencies.

Terra, who is Savant's daughter as well as the central AI for the Earth Federation was tasked with monitoring the overall reconstruction project along with the local officials. This increased the efficiency of the project even further.

"There are some complications regarding the ownership issues for the new construction. Some people are complaining about their land being repurposed for other projects. Some wealthy investors want the new construction to reflect their original investment value." An official who is in charge of the reconstruction project reported to Doom and the oversight committee.

The people in the oversight committee of the Earth Federation are the leaders of their respective countries with most of them coming from some of the wealthiest nations. But the problem is that they are usually the people who look after the interests of the wealthier class.

The representative from the UK retorted right away, "It is a valid complaint. If you had a property worth millions, how does it make sense that the property after reconstruction is only 10% of the original value?"

The others shared similar opinions as well.

"A penthouse should be compensated with a penthouse. Reconstruction doesn't mean that a person who used to live on the third floor of an old apartment building will be treated the same as someone who lived on the top floor of a luxury high-rise building."

But some had basic human decency left in them. "Is that more important than making sure that everyone gets a roof over their heads? Isn't it enough that they are getting the same square footage for their apartments?"

Doom silently listened to the complaints while Savant sat on the side with a mocking smile plastered on his face. After listening to all the arguments and counterarguments, when the debate became too heated, Doom raised a finger.

When the room became silent, "For the first situation, make sure to compensate the people according to the discussed regulations. With the project for Mars construction beginning right after the reconstruction on Earth ends, adjust the land and housing prices accordingly."

The representative from the USA tried to interject but shut up when he saw Doom raise his hand, "There will be some effects on the economy and some wealthy people will lose out but that is tolerable. The economy will get back on track through the Mars project. As for people wanting more than what was decided through the Federation, tell them to pay extra and hand it over."

The entire reconstruction was funded through the collaboration of all the member countries of the Earth Federation. But the total control over all the funding was in the hands of Doom. The oversight committee was not able to exert any influence in the decision-making.

Doom's approval rating among the people was as high as 95%, so even if the oversight committee tried to complain or impeach Doom, the result would be the people throwing stones at the committee instead.

The Finance Secretary of the Federation raised the next topic, "We are at the final phase of issuing the Federation Dollars as a common currency for Earth. The economic and financial advisory committee is doing the final preparations."

"Ah, yes. The Earth Federation Dollars, EFD. It is pegged to energy, right? Our economists are quite awesome." Savant interjected. But except for some frowns, nobody reprimanded him.

"Yes. From whatever little we have studied about alien civilizations in our galaxy, it seems that a currency that is related to energy generation and consumption capacity would be the best. Fission, fusion, coal, biofuel, dimensional energy, and everything else can be quantified and traded as commodities with the other civilizations so it was chosen as the best option for now."

1 kilojoule of energy remained 1 kilojoule of energy no matter what form it takes. There might be inefficiencies in some forms like coal but overall, for an interstellar civilization, energy was the highest requirement and the best currency.

The meeting continued with many issues and projects being discussed and approved for the near future. It was the place where the future of human civilization was decided to some extent.

After that meeting, Doom and Savant moved to another meeting. It was the meeting for the participants of the recent war. It was an event to celebrate the victory and to thank the Asgardians, their allies.

This event was being live streamed on all platforms and broadcast in all cities. It was delayed due to the urgent need to fix the worldwide communications network so that the situation could normalize and further operations could be maintained properly.

The event was being held in a large hall with the presence of heroes, army commanders, Asgardian soldiers, politicians, and other noteworthy people. They were all enjoying the banquet while socializing with each other. It was a very grand event on a never-before-seen scale.

Doom walked up to the podium where Odin was sitting with his son Thor by his side. Both of them were dressed in the royal Asgardian attire. When Doom approached him, Odin stood up and shook his hand. The hall erupted with clapping and cheers.

Doom picked up the mike and addressed the crowd, "Before anything else, I want all of us to take a moment to remember the brave and innocent souls who lost their lives during this war."

With that announcement, the newly made Earth Federation anthem started playing in the background. In the broadcast, the camera panned to show people in the hall all standing silently with a solemn expression. Many people had lost their colleagues, especially in the army.

When the anthem ended Doom continued, "Although we lost many precious people, it is an undeniable fact that we have won. Earth had triumphed over the much stronger invaders. Each earthling should rejoice, it is a victory that belongs to all of us."

Once again, cheers erupted along with thunderous clapping. This did not only happen in the hall though. People in their homes and streets who were watching the broadcast joined in on the cheering as well. Some had smiles on their faces while others teared up at the mention of victory.

"This tragedy has united us more than ever. And the Earth Federation will promise to keep this unity getting stronger in the coming days. But this wasn't a victory that we won alone. We gained a lot of help from our allies during this war." Doom pointed back at Odin.

Reed Richards turned to Savant who had come to join the heroes at their table. "Who wrote this speech for Doom?  Can bet my life that it wasn't Doom's idea."

The other heroes nodded in agreement. No matter how you looked at it, this wasn't Doom's style. It was too understated and humble to be a Doom speech. The way he presented it even seemed a bit robotic to the people who knew Doom well.

Savant chuckled, "It was the new public relations manager's suggestion. I had to put in a lot of effort to make him agree to do this. While he is good at other times, Doom's style doesn't match this kind of solemn event. But he is getting better even if it is by a tiny bit."

Tony Stark chuckled, "Chipping away at Doom's ego is like rolling Sisyphus's stone up a hill."

"Oh, that reminds me. I should go free Sisyphus from that punishment after this event. There is also Prometheus. The Greeks have a lot of these guys." Savant clicked his tongue.

Hawkeye widened his eyes in surprise, "What? Those stories are real? Prometheus is tied up somewhere with his liver being pecked by an eagle right now?"

"Look at the stage, man. Doom is standing next to Odin and Thor. Of course, those stories are real. From what I have heard, Zeus is as massive of a dick as portrayed in the stories, if not more. One needs a bit of prudence or a lot of strength while dealing with the Greek gods."

While Savant was surprising the crowd of heroes with the secrets behind the stories in the Greek Mythology. On the stage, Doom was thanking Odin and Asgard on behalf of humanity. After another round of applause, the speech continued.

"To strengthen our alliance with Asgard and to show our gratitude to the allies who fought alongside us, on behalf of the Federation, I would like to present two of the dimensions that came in possession of Earth to Asgard," Doom announced.

In this war, six large dimensions along with a dozen minor dimensions were captured. It was a hassle to maintain all of them. Especially so for the dimensions where the lords of that dimension were sealed inside. Although you could use it as an energy source, maintaining the seal as well as the dimensions required a lot of work and humanity just didn't have enough resources for that.

Passing along two of them to the Asgardians would take care of a part of that headache while strengthening their alliance. As for energy needs, Earth was pioneering many projects so the use of dimensional energy was just one of the many avenues for the Federation.

Doom continued his standard diplomatic speech to thank the Asgardians while also outlining the trade agreements as well as the cooperation between the two civilizations.

"The details regarding the trade agreement will be announced later through the Economic Advisory Committee. Travel between the two civilizations for tourism will also be made possible soon. Academic exchange and collaborations are in progress as well."

Although slightly boring, Odin and Doom discussed the diplomatic relations for half an hour during the broadcast. After the speech and diplomacy had ended, the celebration and farewell party for the Asgardians began in full swing.

Author here, I am starting to feel the limitations of this story. I am not good at writing a very OP character while balancing the story progression. Cramming so many events and characters in the story hasn't helped either. So I think I will write this story up to 120 or so chapters at most and end it there. What do you guys think?

Also, what do you think should my next story be about? I am open to suggestions.
