It was a interesting read but im quiting at chapter 106. I find it hard to read as he never manage to grow up mentaly at all. He speaks like a fool to royalty and nobility in a medival setting as if he dont understand that royalty and nobility dont talk like the common people. His «forget it» to talk about something else. Regardless of how old he gets or if he is takling to royalty. his vocabulary Seems like a child. As he gets older and «wise» its still the same boy inside. He never mange to give the feeling of a old wise man (grandpa) when he speaks. in the story it talks about his pain of losing his best friends but as the reader you hardly even know any of them at all. I feel that in many ways it feels like your speeding trough the story as you read. Some events that feels like big life changing events is over in 2 lines to get to the next big Thing that may also end in 2 lines and your stuck there wondering what happend. The random mix of him and her… at times i hade to Wonder if Eli was a girl and i just missed it. same with kingdom and empire sometimes a country is a kingdom sometimes the same country is a empire…

The translator seems approachable, at least with the end notes for each chapter. The novel itself is machine translated, but the edits aren't too bad. It's legible, with only the occasional mistake in switched genders or strange terms. The storyline itself is interesting, and I look forward to how the MC develops. My only gripe is that the MC is very passive. Even when opportunity presents itself, he only takes action if it immediately impacts him.

This seems like a great book, with a likeable and smart mc. It's a pity that webnovel dosen't like good novels, only novels with chinese propaganda

Fun read, only a few errors concerning names and pronouns, but nothing to distracting

A fairly solid novel. While this novel almost completely consists of already existing common tropes, it's still somewhat interesting and fairly well thought out and executed (so far at least). The power system seems respectable, it's like a simplified version of Warlock of the Magus World's power system although there are some shaky bits right now. One example of this is the lack of elaboration as to why there's no magic in the Knight Kingdom when it's so ridiculously easy and convenient even if you have the worst talent. With a bit of time (less than half a year for someone with the worst talent, much, much less if you have decent or good talent) and no resources apart from the magic textbook itself, anyone could get a more superhuman version of a photographic memory easily. The MC literally memorises a page of a very complicated book a second. I'll give this novel the benefit of the doubt and expect it to explain the these seemingly glaring issues. Otherwise though, this is pretty good. Worldbuilding is alright, characters don't seem too bad (this is a CN novel after all) and the quality of writing itself is decent as well. This is no Warlock of the Magus World but it's decent enough so far. At the very least, the protagonist of this novel is far more likeable than the insufferable protagonist from WOTMW. 4/5

the more you read the wrose it get. People keep attacking mc like moth to a flame, top level combatants throw themself against him like egg to a rock. It keeps going forever, when one die another group one level higher do the exact same thing and another and another... the chain keeps going forever with the exact same plot and outcome. At this point author dont even use his brain anymore, he just copy paste last arc and just change the villain name slightly.

Another great novel among the batch of trial novels. No face slapping for 40 chapters, and the MC ain’t a simp. He is genuinely low-key. He can live forever, so he uses that to his advantage. The MC isn’t an emotionless being who will massacre someone’s entire bloodline just because they humiliated him. He actually thinks of the consequences of his actions. So what if he has trash talent, as long as he can live forever he will be the strongest. The best part is that the nobles in this novel aren’t your usual noble trope. They actually have rational reasons and can honestly think for themselves. Not like those generic nobles in other novels, where they will put their lives on the line just for one small humiliation. Overall, there aren’t any cliché tropes to be seen that will ruin the novel. The only thing that bugs me is that it seems that the translator is not proofreading their translation. You will find names switch from the male version to the female version. And sometimes characters will suddenly switch genders. It’s not that bad to the point where it’s unreadable, but it would be nice if the translation was more consistent. Overall read, 7/10!

the character isn't immortal, which was like the whole pitch. he doesn't age, i guess, but i had to drop this before that even became a proper advantage for the mc. it's extremely poorly translated, and random new characters are thrown into the story due to the poor translation. A good example is "elie" the genderswapped replacement for the mc that just shows up unannounced.

Why are there no updates since chapter 580?

Interesting premise, mc isn't talented but is immortal so he can take his time. Good initial character development as he adjusts to immortality, watching friends die, learning more about the world. Later on once he gets more powerful is when the novel just turns to typical cultivation story style. He acts arrogant, enemies come one after the other, everyone thinks he'll die but then he shows his advanced cultivati - I mean mage powers. Two dimensional support characters that constantly need savings peanut gallery commenting on all the fights. Boring

I have caught up with the "free chapters". Chapter 198.... There are still some translation issues mainly with names. It seems whoever is translating is likely just using Google translate and reading through it and changing it grammatically. This book is almost too similar to "Warlock of the Magus World". Except this MC is hiding himself as a Mage in a world dominated by Warlocks.

I'm only going to give one star, because I can't even get to chapter 20. The title is misleading, but the story still has an interesting proposal. The worst thing for me in this novel is the translation, characters and city names keep changing, as the city has a European name and another Chinese name.

118 chapters of nonsense, maybe the real will come after but who will have the patience?until now this novel is just 3-5 chapters in other good novels. So blablabla blablabla

The translator needs to know that there are grammatical mistakes everywhere. Bro you are working for webnovel and don't know how to translate. Please don't waste this good novel. The MTL doesn't have gender roles wrong. You are literally worse than MTL in this regard.

I don’t usually do reviews but I liked this story so I’m going to do one. First the translation could be better, there are multiple instances of wrong pronouns or different names. One thing that confuses me a little is that the story has a more western style like western names for everything but the city’s name is clearly not western. This isn’t too bad but a story should pick a style of name and stick with it unless there’res multiple cultures in the story and different names would fit the narrative. Second the world background is lacking, the reader doesn’t even know anything about the world other than he lives in a empire of knights with four duchies surrounding it even though Eli has lived there for three years with plenty of time to learn and multiple ways to relay it to us. These are things easily fixed going forward so I hope the novel continues because I do enjoy it and would recommend it.
