Even if the MC didn't want to intervene too much in the canon, he could at least warn his family I mean, even if he just warns to be careful with the hidden threats Frey, Bolton, Littlefinger already helps a lot. He puts his family at unnecessary risk
So in the end he changed nothing? Warned no one? Everyone is in the exact same position as in the original. But this time bran isn’t crippled. Wasn’t the first thing he said when he realized who he was, “I won’t let Ned die this time” well he hasnt tried that hard has he? Hes still going into the city of snakes with no protection, no words of warning. I’m sure you will change things soon, but having them all go the exact same way is just disappointing imo.
First of all I enjoyed the chapter a lot. I do think the bran plot is a bit weird. since in canon Joffrey sent the assassin to end Bran's misery as a cripple. Joffrey was incompetent enough to give the killer the easily traced Valyrian steel dagger. If I'm led to believe Cersei did this then she wouldn't be sloppy enough to give that same dagger. Also I'm really hoping mc goes to Kingslanding or gives a good enough reason that he's risking his family in winterfell knowing his meta knowledge. I'll trust that this is a three eyed raven plot to bring things closer to canon.
I really hope this novel doesn't flop and they all survive due to plot armor when the MC could have made plans. If the MC made plans and we the readers, know noting about it despite living his life (cheap plot too), it is almost as bad. And if someone happens to even one member of his family? Ridiculous.
This is so stupid. Story just somehow pushes forwards exactly the same way as in canon despite all the changes. Honestly, it was super frustrating when mc didn't change much during all these years till now, and now things don't change even though stuff has gone differently. Is mc's goal to just let things play out? Let the wars and tragedies happen? He didn't do anything to strengthen north or his family. He didn't tell about Jamie and Cersei, and for some reason neither did Bran. Frankly he could have set up Jamie and Cersei to be caught and held accountable. Overall, this is starting to seem like another very frustrating bastardized canon read. Basically, stuff going according to canon no matter how little it makes sense, no matter how much stuff changes and no matter if mc has foreknowledge. This is like clapping your hands but no sound comes out :D Makes no sense right? These weird "canon" stories are the same, no matter how much you clap, aka. make changes, nothing happens. It's extremely frustrating.
This was very well written. Thank you for your efforts in trying to make it entertaining while not overworking yourself to rewrite every detail of the story. This is how you will write a longer FanFiction without burning yourself out. Your descriptions are vivid and vocabulary crisp, with new and equally memorable dialogue. Keep it up. :)
