One of those sign in novels but this one is quite good imo. The reason is probably the main character and the female lead. The romance slowly buds even though it started with a *spoiler* arranged political marriage. Both knew each other and were on the stage of 'no dislike' and grew to the stage of like. Both of them are actually quite naive in love and their growing mutual like is quite innocent. It may seem cheesy but I thought it was sweet. That said, the novel is still mainly a Xianxia. The mc tries his best to remain low-key and 'sends his enemies on the road' anonymously. The fights are quick with the mc using his fist to create blood mist. Overall, it's a worthwhile reading experience.

i haven’t read the story yet, but from the synopsis it seems and this review, i’m pretty sure the mc didn’t have a fiance when he furst went into seclusion. he got set up with a political marriage like the reviewer said while he was in cultivation and this is probably both of their first time being in a relationship

From the "no dislike" part of the review and the fact that she keeps appearing, I assume the female lead is Ao Longyu. Just my own conclusion based on the review though.

a simple review but I agree with everything you said. The romance is one of the positives and in the Xianxia genre that is very rare. One of the things I noticed is that the romance is written very similar to what you often see in the novels with female mc's... slow romance, female is not really favored by her family but has a brother with whom she has a good relationship, the male is mysterious and doesn't talk a lot, male has a second identity which he used to save her early on in the story, etc. The big difference is that it is told from the male's perspective and as far as I know there were no family members who jealously attack the female mc.
