This novel is just trash. I'm only at chapter 5 and already there are many issues. 1. The protagonist is stupid. He is greedy for progress and careless, taking completely unneeded risks. Additionally he has one skill and and hesitates to put his points into it in a life and death situation. I would say he is as intelligent as my 10 year old self. Truly pathetic. 2. The system is already inconsistent. He suddenly has more energy points than in the last chapter. I repeat, this was chapter 5. 3. There is zero world-building. Only his room, sister and brother get a description, everything else just is. He way as well live in a world made out of cardboard. Conclusion: I have read better novels I have rated 1 star. This is a zero star novel. At least it in a fantasy setting and likely won't have racism. Making it a part of the bottom 1% of novels I've read, but not a contender for worst novel ever. I bet 20 bucks most, if not all, of those 5 star reviews are bought.
This novel is total mess. It starts with a good premise, though with a retarted Junior Sister. I guess before her regression something injured her soul and permanently crippled her IQ or something, because she would have been a smarter 10 year old if she wasn't a regressor. Then even this premise gets ruined. What made this novel good gets thrown away for increasingly random plotlines. Then even the setting gets ruined and unfitting plots get introduced. Imagine a realistic novel about living in medieval times. All goes well, but the author runs out of ideas and decides by chapter 100 a sudden demon invasion is a good idea. By chapter 200 he doesn't know to process and suddenly dinosaurs overrun the earth. Another hundred chapters later aliens invade the world. It is an idiotic and illogical mess full of plot holes. It starts at 3 stars, soon drops to 2 stars and then the author tries his best to make the worst possible novel ever witnessed by mankind.
I doubt the author was forced to involve racism, nationalism could have been a possibility, but racism against black people is rampant in China. Like the is that one detergent ad, in which a black person gets shoved into a washing machine and gets washes "clean" into a chinese person. There is also a trend of chinese people going to Africa and giving black people money to film them saying "I am inferior, black people are inferior, chinese are the master race." in chinese, without them actually knowing what they are saying. China also has "reeducation" camps in which they stuff the members of their muslim minority. You can imagine them like the camps german people stuffed Jews into, just without the gas. So no outright genocide, but still high casuality rate.
The only novels I encountered racism and nationalism in are chinese and korean. Many novels like The Witcher and so on have no connection to real life and as such don't even have the possibility of containing racism against others in real life. However chinese novels contantly draw connections to real life and casually add things like "Lu Ser didn't like the barbarians, because they attacked the great Xia every other year." China is present in nearly every novel and there are barbarians most of the time. And if there isn't any country there are homophobic or racist phrases directed at gay and black people. China and chinese novels represent the most capitalistic (depicting corruption and bribery as normal and laws not affecting rich people), nationalistic and racist mindset I know of in the world. The heck, my country is capitalistic and is less capitalistic than ('sozialist') China.
Reading this chapter makes me wonder: Why are such protection fees so normal in many Chinese novels? There is no such thing in my country, you could just call the police to solve it. Although politicians aren't completely clean over here, but they aren't corrupt enough to allow such a thing. Similar to the other thing about installing bugs at the offices of other politicians, if someone finds out they would either damage the politicians reputation, or if they have prove send you to jail and ruin any chance of political participation for your whole political party for at least 5 years. Seems like China is filled with corruption.
Do you know there is another translation at Sky Demon Order around 20 chapters ahead of you? Though, don't worry, besides delivering this to a broader audience your work has additional value. The other translation is on a website with both a paywall and no links between chapters, which shows that before even properly setting up their website they are trying to earn money, truly shameless. (Though their translation quality is far superior, you need to work on that, dear translator)
I should have listened to other reviewers. At the beginning the novel delivered what the synopsis promised but it soon deteriorates. It turns into a story which can be summarized the following way: Training, killing, training, killing, training, killing, killing, killing, killing, training training, killing, training... The author threw away what made this story interesting and instead turned this novel into a standard Xianxia novel even below average compared to other standard Xianxia novels. The only good thing is in this novel women aren't getting objectived like in other novels.
Your comment is what I was searching for. I think those other discussions aren't as important, this is the most unlogical thing. A fighter as experienced as Morpheus wouldn't make such basic mistakes. He would have either learned to not make such mistakes or he would have died before reaching his current power.
To any possible future readers: The issues brought up by other readers won't be as prominent in the future. At the beginning most possible harem members will be introduced, but it seems the author wants to develop a harem, but doesn't want to add harem members just for the count. As such all harem members will be of importance the whole story and there won't be too many. Also content will not be stuffed in a short timeframe inside the novel. Only this first night has so many things happen at once.
A mantis is stalking a cicada, but it doesn't know there is an oriole behind her. That's my comment about this web of manipulation. This scientist manipulates others, but doesn't realize she is being manipulated herself. Well, I don't pity her... I have no favourite meat dish, I am vegetarian. :P Can't even remember what my favourite meat dish used to be. XD
