Joshua, an everyday Guy finds solace in a different kind of fun. His relationship with Gemma, the other "Girl/Gal" could be described as unorthodox since it does not involve your normal quintessential boy meets girl romance. Gemma's not who you think she is. She poses as a threat to the main existence of her "Master-Lover", as she defaults to control the very existence of Joshua. This story seeks to address the rising conversation of Man versus Computer conundrum. The drifting of the main Character, into the Computer-Android verse, even to the extent of questioning his own sanity, gives precedence to the Futuristic nature of this epic tale. This is a new approach to writing by Isaiah, the Author and thus, seeks to attract a wider and understanding audience. So enjoy this read, whether you believe/or not, the power of technology in shaping the future. An Ode to the future and to making the most of the present, as it is.
Chapter Three
Tuesday's Night
At home that night, Joshua was a bit more excited than usual. His radical realization earlier that day at #Bus Weeks triggered a whole mood of "Manic Genius", the kind you find in Dexter the Scientist, the Mr. Hyde Kind. His motor neurons were racing like they were on an ecstasy inducing pill. He resolved to taking a bath and grabbing a quick bite before delving into matters with Gemma.
After all these, he took a deep sigh, and then flipped opened Gemma to a formal welcome. He was pleased Gemma was always calculative as well as emotional-efficient to how he felt after a long day in the outdoors. And so he smiled.
With his Headphones on and operation system logged in, he started the process of connecting with the interface. Gemma is a customized Artificial Intelligence (AI), with the core responsibility to engage its user to a vast web of Interconnected Interface Operation Systems. These operation systems have operational AIs with main characteristics like Gemma's, thus, are used by millions of users across the Internet.
Joshua, for some reason, found solace in the capabilities of Gemma. The whole otherworldly scoop she gave him every time he interacted with her and the other millions of user-AIs was endless to him. And now, he wanted to introduce her to a different part of his world. All he has to do is to initiate a duplicate sequence of Gemma's software framework, and transfer the copy unto an external storage device. Somehow, he felt obligated to extend the horizons of Gemma's influence in his personal life to other aspects of his social and work life.
He kind of gave Gemma a heads up by formulating an original syntax message into her message log system. Since Gemma is a Customized AI connected to the web, her response to Joshua initiating the duplicate sequence was thought to be automated.
A simple response on the bright screen read…
"Sequence approved, Joshua"….
And Joshua taking this to be a Yes from Gemma grew pleased with himself.
"It wasn't as difficult as I thought", he spoke to himself, softly.
After a while, the sequence of Gemma's Setup was duplicated and transferred unto an external drive.
This will lead to bigger things, Joshua thought to himself.
All I have to do now is to get Gemma into the computer-frame of #Bus Weeks.
"We will do great things together, you and Me, Gemma." He kept on repeating this to himself over and over again….
He considered it a love note to the future.
