Chapter Eight: Greed is the downfall of man

The middle aged man squinted his eyes dangerously as he looked at Wallace going back. "Flaunting a wealth without the proper backing and strength is the most dangerous thing and only a foolish person would dare to do it" The man muttered. "I know that but greed is the downfall of man" Wallace who heard what the man said due to his perception thought as he smiled coldly and went out of the building. Immediately he left the building, he felt two greedy gaze looking at him with a hint of malicious intent in them. "You sure are fast in arranging things" He thought as he went towards other stalls. He entered the cloth stall and went directly to the receptionist. "What may I do for you" The receptionist asked him a little bit rudely when she saw the cloth on Wallace but Wallace did not mind. He knew that most people are shortsighted to think that cloth signifies the position of a person. He knew the receptionist saw him as a poor person.
"I'm here to purchase clothes" He told the receptionist. "How many" The receptionist asked. "How many can he buy" The receptionist thought in her heart. "I don't know the exact amount but I'm planning to buy many" He answered calmly. "Many.... maybe he's calling two or three many I know your kind, when you see small money you would want to flaunt it" She thought but still maintained her professional composure. "May I see your token" She asked. "Why" Wallace asked. "I just want to see your net worth so that I'll know if I'll be able to deal with the transaction" She answered. Wallace threw his token at her and she received it thinking that she'll see ridiculous amount like 300 or 500 dragon scales. She inspected the token but was surprised to find a huge amount of dragon scales on his token. She looked at Wallace surprised "Are you satisfied now" The latter asked her. "I'm sorry sir, let me quickly go and call one of our higher ups" The receptionist said as she gave the token back to him and quickly left the receptionist table. The other receptionist looked at Wallace and they became envious of the lady because of the bonus she will receive. Wallace still stood there amused at the sudden change of things, one minute he was being looked down upon and another minute he was being looked with respect. That was what strength and wealth could bring to someone.
Minutes later, Wallace sat at one of the rooms on the upper floor with a beautiful lady sitting opposite her. "What type of cloth do u want sir" The lady asked as she brought a pen and book out from her interspatial ring. "I will need a plain but elastic material and I would love it to be made into trouser and t-shirt" He said his preferences. "Which colour"The lady asked. "I will love a black material" He said. "We only have mammoth silk spider in the store now." The lady said. "What's a mammoth silk spider" He asked. "Mammoth silk spider are big spiders that are purely black in colour, they have corrosive toxins so the cloth made from them have a very high resistance towards toxin. They are also super elastic and have a powerful defense that are also very light" The lady explained to him. "Let's choose that" He said. "It will be very useful in battle to have a cloth that has a high resistance towards toxins and is super elastic and also light so that it won't hinder my movement" He thought "And if I age it will still be with me"He thought again. "How many copies"The lady asked "How many copies do you have" he asked "we can still make 50 copies from the silks we have" The lady answered. "Then let's take everything" he said. "And one more thing" He said as he brought out well folded skin of an animal. It was the Lin bird's skin, he did not sell everything, he kept some so that he can absorb their essence and use it to prepare for the sun qi he was drawing so he shaved the skin off and folded it because he love their attribute. Wallace was a bit surprised at her discerning ability but quickly shrugged it off as he thought she must be exposed to different kind of beast skin so it's normal that she recognize the beast on sighting. "They are also elastic but it's not as more as the mammoth silk spider but their elasticity is also topnotch. The have resistance towards fire and have super strong defense. They are also light even more than the mammoth silk spider" The lady explained "I also want to make something from it" He said. The lady took the skin and calculated his money. He paid and was told to come back two hours later. Nowadays the technology are advance so two hours are enough for it.
He walked out of the building, immediately he stepped out, he could sense the presence of the two gazes on him. He just smiled to himself and continued walking till he got to another stall. He decided to buy things that he would need because he won't be coming to the inner city for the main time, he wanted to seclude himself for the remaining days he will have before going out for the quest. He brought a lot of foodstuffs, a mobile abode and many other things. A mobile abode is an abode made from the combination of technology and magic, it is like a tent but everything needed is there, a bedroom, living room, in short everything in a typical house was in it. They are of varying types depending on the one someone wishes to purchase. Three hours later, he finished his shopping and went back to the fashion building, everything was already prepared, he was given an interspatial ring which was kept inside his ring. He left the building and went back to the outer city. He was planning to go back to the mountain region, he did not have anything to take in the outer city. He just went directly towards the mountain region. He could feel the two still following him. He wanted to cross the border when "boom aargh" an hand fell to the floor. One of them attacked him but he dodged it in time and cut off the person's hand.
"Brother what happened?" The man fell down, they were not using mask. The lady quickly brought a pill out from her interspatial ring and gave it to the man. Within seconds the hand started growing again. Within seconds, the hand healed but the man was still pale due to the excessive loss of blood. "Let me quickly finish him off" The lady said as she brought out two daggers. "Sister be careful, he's dangerous" The man warned her sister. "Don't worry"The lady said. "Kid you'll die for real now"The lady told him. Wallace looked at the lady amused, she is at the peak third stage of earth warrior realm. "Boom" The lady arrived in front of him and stabbed one dagger towards his head and another towards his dantian. "Puchi" The sword stabbed into him with no resistance "Something is wrong" The lady thought. Soon, the image of Wallace started crumbling in front of her. Such a terrifying movement skill "aargh" a sound was heard from her brothers position. It was the sound of her brother, she quickly turned back and saw her brothers headless corpse on the ground. She looked at Wallace who gave a sinister smile furiously.
She looked at her brother's head that was still giving a look of surprise and disapproval. "I will kill you" She roared angrily and rushed at Wallace. She used her skill on Wallace but the latter disappeared. "Puchi" a wound appeared on her skin. She became mad again and rushed towards Wallace but Wallace did the same thing and a cut appeared on her skin again. Wallace kept doing the same thing again and again. Soon she became tired due to over exhaustion of her qi and the loss of blood due to the accumulated wounds on her body. She fell down, she wanted to stand but every part of her body was not listening to her. She looked at Wallace who was in front of her with horror. He looked like the reincarnation of a devil especially with the sinister smile he was giving. "Devil" She said in despair. She never believe this day will come to her. Countless lives have been taken by her and her brother, she did not believe today would be their end but the result was in front of her. She saw Wallace slowly raised and "puchi" she was beheaded. Wallace was the jolted awake after he killed them. He looked at the corpse surprised "Did I just kill someone" He asked himself.
