Fateful meeting

Once I saw the shiny object out of the corner of my eye, I took a second look at the package full of drugs. I pulled a small ziplock bag out form underneath all the drug filled bags, which to my surprised was actually filled with diamonds!

If I can find a way to sell these I won't have to worry about any money problems while on Earth. Now the true question is what to do now or where is should go. I killed Kyle so he would not talk about my high tech weapon I have on me, but since I killed him, it cut my trip short.

Guess I'll walk into the woods until I come across a main road, after all it might not be a good idea to drive a vehicle with bullet holes and blood splattered on them.

Stepping on a broken limb, I make my way through the small woods separating me and the main road from where we can from. I don't have any concrete plans on where to go but it can't hurt to just head towards the city Kyle was planning to go to anyways, even though I'm gonna have to walk a really long distance. Sucks trying to keep a low profile on planets with lower ranked races.

I was driving down the road in my old beat up car, one that you would find common among college students. As I was driving on the highway heading back home to my parents where I would once again live, while going to college. On the road, blaring rock music; I happen to notice something odd coming up on the side of the highway.

I see somewhat tall man coming out of the woods that's next to the highway. He is wearing normal enough looking clothes, but has an extremely odd mask covering his face. I was confused at why this suspicious man was coming out from there. I decided I was officially curious with him mainly because of the odd mask.

I slowly pull over to the side of the highway with my hazard blinkers on, towards where that strange man is. I roll down my window to call out to him.

"Hey Mask-Man, what are doing coming out of the woods here, and what's up with that crazy mask?" He quickly looks my way, sadly because of the mask I can't tell how he reacted without seeing his face.

"Got lost and decided to walk along the highway to where I'm going. Also don't ask about the mask!" He replied sounding somewhat disgruntled

"Hmm, where you headed Mr. Lost?" Trying to sound funny with my comment in hope of loosening his guard, after all I'm extremely curious about him. Even though everyone says not to talk to strangers, especially ones wearing a mask. I'm want to know what's behind the mask, plus I'm not afraid of some random guy. With the gun on my waist and self-defense classes I've taken, I think I'll be safe.

"A city called Charlotte, and don't go giving me weird names; it's Zen." He sounds even more disgruntled now, damn even when a cute girl like myself tries to funny, he still won't loose up. What's wrong with him!

"That's a name you don't here much. Well Mr Zen, I'll make you a proposition. You tell me about why you wear a mask and something interesting about yourself and I'll give you a ride to Charlotte since I'm also heading there?" I was actually quite excited, hoping that he would except, so that I may hear something cool and interesting to make my day better.

He looks back at me somewhat suspiciously as if I had an ulterior motive to get him inside my car. I know this car don't look like much but come on it's a good working car and my proposition was honest made.

"Fine, I would like to get to he city sooner. Thanks for the ride." He says unenthusiastically, as he opens my passenger door to sit down.

"Alright lets get going, by the way my name is Sarah Lakes. I can't wait to hear your story along the way!" I exclaim toward my new passenger as I use my turn signal to get back on the highway and continue on our now shared destination.
