A place to stay

I got into this old raggedy car of this beautiful young redhead girl. She looks just over eighteen years old, well proportioned for her age with that slim, fit body. The only thing that might ruin his beautiful scene of this fantastic looking women is her giddy nonstop question asking personality.

"So tell me, why wear the mask? Also why are you going to Charlotte, and plus you gotta tell me why do seem so upset?" She continuously fires off question after question which is hey she even has to ask the last one.

"One, has scarring on my face. Two, no reason particular, just somewhere to stay. Three, I'm regretting a certain choice." I quickly replied to her incessant interrogation.

"Now you've got to show me your face since you said that. Come on hurry it up!" She completely ingnored my last answer.

"No"

"Why not? I'm so curious to see!"

"Sorry was not part of the deal, all I had to was tell you why. Now focus on your driving, we are not getting there fast enough for this conversation to end." I frankly state to get her off my back. This girl is honestly terrifying with this new level of curiosity. She may have a somewhat plain name but her personality is anything but that.

"Tch, your no fun!" She pouts while trying to look at me with a cute face. Sorry, but after that torturing interrogation, a cute face won't work on me.

"If only you knew how I got here." I whispered under my breath.

"Whatcha say?"

"Nothing, don't worry about it."

With the abrupt end of the conversation we quietly traveled down the highway to the city. After a few minutes, as I thought that she could actually be quiet, she starts asking away again.

"What kind of work do you do? You sound pretty young, about my age so are you in college?" She asks, trying to squeeze as much information out of me.

"No I'm a freelance bodyguard for now. If better work comes around I'll probably take it." I answer curtly, trying to get that quietness back.

"Oh a bodyguard, that must mean your strong right? How strong?" She can really take a conversation in any direction can't she, especially when asking questions.

Sighing I reply with "don't know, never compared" hoping that is the end of my interrogation. Even my mother wasn't this ridiculous when I told her I was getting married!

"Oh" she sighed, obviously not content with my answer. But I did not give her much choice in the matter.

I was surprised she was actually quiet for the rest of the journey, she only turned up her music and continued driving tithe car. It didn't take long for us to reach Charlotte, and once we did that's when she started talking again. Luckily this time it was important talk and not just her being curious.

"So got somewhere to stay or anywhere you want me to drop you off?"

"Not really, just take me to a nice hotel that I can rent. Any is fine." I don't really care what hotel, just somewhere to sleep, because I need a nap after what happened today.

"Alright I know of a place. It's actually near the community college I currently go to." She says with a mischievous smile on her face.

"You know what, it does matter what hotel. I would actually like one that is on the OPPOSITE side of the city from the hotel you recommend." I instantly treated this as a threat to my metal well being and decided I had to fight back.

"Haha don't worry, you'll like this one. It even comes with hot tubs on the first floors and a delicious restaurant." Completely unfazed from my reply as she continues promoting her choice.

Just as I was gonna try making another stand against her onslaught, she suddenly stares right at me with a threatening glance that could send shivers down any man's back. All I could get out of my mouth with her looking at me like that was just a simple "okay".

I swear I just saw flashbacks from my wife when she got upset about most of my decisions in the house. I miss those times a lot, but I need to stop dwelling on the past.

With me not able to talk back, she drives toward the hotel as if returning from battle victorious yet she herself hasn't even decided how she would get more information out of him. I could feel that my future in the foreseeable day will be anything but boring with her always coming around.

I just need to figure out a job that will quickly get me out of this city before she starts coming over and restart those interrogations. Those were my last thoughts as she dropped me off at the hotel where I went and got checked in.

Once I finished paying the clerk, I got a key with the number 213 on it, to show what my room number is. Time to get some sleep!
