Chapter 3: Investigate

Back aboard the Infinity ship Adam could be seen within the command center, four women and three men all surrounded the main command desk. A holographic 3d real time display of the ship was being shown. The reboot had worked, after power cycling the ship everything rebooted with no issues.

This allowed Adam a full picture of any system issues with the ship. After everything had come online Adam immediately called for all department heads to come to the command deck for a meeting and debrief.

Within half an hour the seven highest ranking officers for each department came onto the command deck, each with hope still burning bright, now that the main systems were online and life support was now stable throughout the ship.

Most weren't very high in rank, a few sergeants and captains since most high ranking members had evacuated soon after the order was given.

"Before I begin I want to thank you all for coming and I appreciate your hard work up till now. Staying on station and rescuing your fellow soldiers is commended. I look forward to working with each and every one of you." Adam began the meeting after seeing everyone was in attendance.

"Now before we go into names I need reports from each of you regarding your departments, what's damaged, supplies, estimated repair times and such. Lets start with medical." Adam stated as he studied the faces around him stopping on an older mature woman in a lab coat over her blue UNSC uniform.

"Thankfully no serious injuries, a few concussions, cuts and bruises. We have plenty of medical supplies, enough to last a few years as long as nothing major happens. All medical equipment that has been checked has been good, we are running diagnostics on everything before we use it. I will submit the final report upon completion, should be done running checks in about five hours. Sir."

Adam gave a nod and replied, "Good, keep me informed of any needs, I don't need some epidemic or something making its way thru our ship. Communications?"

A young black haired man with a short stubble beard stood up, "Sir, all slipspace wavecom data links are operational, however no response from UNSC High Command or any other incoming signals. However, we are picking up signals thru ancient radio waves from a local planet. It seems we also were detected by the planet sometime between our arrival and systems coming online. They have also stopped any attempts at communication."

Adam quickly pulled up the log, "And what do we know of the planet?" he asked as he listened to the communication sent.

"Well that's the thing sir. It seems like it's home but at the same time it's not. It looks like our own Earth but centuries in the past. There is no UNSC or even a centralized world government. There are nine world powers. United States, Russia, Britain, France, China, Japan, India, Latveria and Wakanda according to the sensor drones that were sent out."

Hearing those last two names stunned Adam, quickly pulling up a holographic picture of the Earth and then overlaying the world powers, he confirmed his suspicions. Located in Africa a small advanced country could be seen, statues of large panthers adorned the capital city.

Quickly checking thru the information retrieved Adam was able to know somehow he had ended up in the Marvel universe. Even though he was clearly aboard a Halo ship, he wasn't in the Halo universe. Although the Halo verse was dangerous in its own way, Marvel had Gods and Titans, Celestials and Demons. His mind raced with mixed emotions, excitement and a little fear, Marvel isn't a low level universe.

Not hearing any response from Adam a middle aged blonde woman stood up to continue down the line of reports, "The engineering department is currently working on the damaged energy shield generators that were knocked offline in the primary hanger bay as well as the main energy shield. It definitely took a beating in the initial assault. Besides that a few ground and aerial vehicles were damaged but the frigates are unharmed and can be deployed at a moment's notice, Sir."

After getting the reports from personnel, security and fleet captain Adam had gotten out of his stupor, he was thankful he wasn't a regular human like these soldiers before him. Even in terms of other SPARTAN's he was on another level. He was a little stronger than any other SPARTAN while they were wearing their power armor even without wearing his own. After equipping his Mjolnir armor it put him into a league of his own in not just power, but his perception, intelligence and reaction speed were beyond any other SPARTAN.

He could definitely go toe to toe with the Avengers to a degree, Hulk and Thor being the biggest issues along with Captain Marvel. Spiderman too may give some issues due to his spider senses, but Adam wasn't in the mind of defeating such powerhouses. He wasn't stupid enough to be a villain, especially in such a universe as Marvel. Villains always lose in the end, no matter how they prepare or even how far their plan goes, in the end they fail.

Thanos is the perfect example, he succeeded in snapping his fingers and winning against Earth's Mightiest Heroes. Five years later the heroes undo his snap and defeat him in the end, all that effort Thanos put in to win, just to lose a few years after thinking he had already won.

All these thoughts and more swam thru Adams mind as he half listened to the reports given.

"Alright, we have enough supplies to last us about eight months. Thankfully the ship wasn't heavily damaged so repairs are minimal. Remain radio silent for now, do not answer any communication from that Earth, not yet at least. Thankfully we are no longer detectable thru their sensors since the ship has returned to normal operations. Lets move the ship outside visual ranges just in case they have something that would allow them to see past our cloaking, move the ship into a synchronous orbit behind Saturn. Its magnetic field will throw off any sensors trying to detect our power signature. I want an Albatross loaded with the stealth service modules prepped and mission ready in the next 24 hours. We need to secure food supplies, although we have enough food for now I don't want to wait till the last minute to secure what we need." Adam began issuing orders to each department as well as setting up goals for a sustainable food supply.

Adam wanted to get to Earth as soon as possible, using his knowledge of events and looking thru the information retrieved from Earth he knew he was between the Thor and first Avenger movie, which meant the war in New York has yet to happen. This would be the perfect opportunity to be able to provide assistance to the government thus gaining a steady supply of food. Money wasn't an issue, they wouldn't even need to sell their tech or weapons to make money.

Infinity had a small fleet of mining vessels which would allow them to mine metals from asteroids and planets with ease. Gold, iron, platinum, silver and even vibranium could be mined from the astroid belt or from the various planets and moons within the solar system. Rare metals and chemicals such as Helium 3 and liquid methane could be easily harvested and sold to the Earth at high costs. But this was only if they could form a trade agreement, this required finesse since most likely they would be considered hostile since they weren't from this time.

Although they were human just like the current Earthlings, they could all be considered super soldiers considering every UNSC soldier and member received genetic enhancement injections upon being enlisted. The physical enhancements were nothing close to even the weakest SPARTAN 4 series, but they were three times stronger and twice as fast as a civilian. In terms of Marvel, the lowest UNSC grunt was equivalent to Captain America without using a power armor.

Power armors were rare and only SPARTANs were assigned the Mjolnir armors, the ship did have a few thousand Mark 2 and 3 exoskeletons but they were impractical for covert missions. They were more designed for large scale battlefields and supply movement. Unlike the Mjolnir class they weren't as versatile and required much more energy to run, they also weren't directly connected to its pilot's thus reaction times were slower.

Taking everything into consideration he decided to lead a small team to attack the military supply depot of HYDRA and steal food and supplies as well as any tech to compare to their own.

"I want the Albatross loaded with a single M510 Mammoth and two M12 Warthogs and a team of ten of our best infantry, five of our best snipers, four heavy gunners and a medic. We will meet at 1800 hours for mission briefing, I want a full tactical report on the multiple bases I have highlighted. I want a full plan of attack emailed for my review by no later than 0900 hours tomorrow as well as the members chosen to accompany me in securing the needed supplies."

After getting their orders each department officer left one after the other to make sure everything was done to repair and prepare for the future.

As the last officer left, leaving Adam alone at the main holotable, he began to plan their introduction into the plot. He knew he could traverse the universe and locate Xandar and easily set up a trade agreement much easier than with Earth, in fact this was one of his ideas as well. Eventually he would locate Xandar and register them as mercenaries since he knew they wouldn't be reaching UNSC anytime soon considering they were in another universe entirely.

He already had a war fleet at his disposal and he knew no better way to make galactic credits than to sell his services. He didn't want to sell any weapons or technology even to aliens, although the technology trees were similar to a degree they also weren't. Arc reactors were similar to the fusion reactors and plasma reactors, the military did have electromagnet guns similar to Halo but much less efficient.

Ironman's suit was similar to the Mjolnir series power armors, many similarities but each different in their own ways. Wakanda had energy shields and vibranium ships, so many potential threats that if they did get their hands on his technology they could easily adapt it to their own. Adam wasn't going to allow this, rather he planned on the opposite, he would buy or steal any tech he deemed applicable to improve his own technology.

Vibranium was his first goal, only one metal ranked above Vibranium unconditionally, Uru. While Adamantium could be debated as being above Vibranium, which in truth was much tougher and durable, but it wasn't as versatile as Vibranium. Once Adamantium hardened it couldn't be reshaped or moved. Vibranium could, it could also absorb kinetic as well as other forms of energy and redirect it.

Adam wanted to add a layer of Vibranium to the hulls of his ships, he knew it would take a lot of Vibranium to do so but he knew there was plenty in the asteroid belt found within the solar system. It's where Wakanda got its own mountain from, an asteroid made of Vibranium that hit Earth many years ago.

"Eve, I want you to upload yourself onto Infinity's main systems so I can issue commands from my suit. Also have the mining department begin mining the astroid belt for rare metals and minerals. This metal is the priority.." Adam ordered his AI as he pointed out a large asteroid that contained an unknown metal the scanner had detected, he knew it had to be Vibranium, Adamantium or Uru since those metals are exclusive to this universe.

"Affirmative Adam. I have established a permanent connection to Infinity as well as her fleet. A priority request has also been sent to the mining department to begin collection procedures beginning at 0600 tomorrow." Eve answered back after a few moments after receiving her orders.

"Perfect, also once the unknown metal is brought on board, send it to the science division to research the applications of the metal. Ensure we have our sensor drones cover the entirety of Earth and this solar system, I want to make sure we know everything happening on the planet and off. I don't want to be blindsided by anything. Infiltrate all systems on the planet discreetly, I want you to focus on Oscorp, Stark Industries, Wakanda, SHIELD and HYDRA. Copy any and all technology they are working on, public and private. Send what you get to the appropriate departments for review and report on if the technology is viable to us or not. Lastly, I want a full report on my SPARTAN data as well as a full detailed report on my suit's functions."

Even though he knew some of the abilities he had available thru the procedure he underwent when he awoke, he didn't have a full list of capabilities.

"As you wish Adam. I will begin slowly cracking the firewalls to all intelligence servers on the planet immediately. I have also sent the original research notes of Cortana as well as the final report on your procedures and the manual for your Mjolnir Mark eight armor to your suits display to be reviewed at your leisure." Eve answered back.
