Soy Sauce-San
the story started out okay, even though there were a loopholes. but then, after a few chapters, he gets to the academy. then the whole story changes. the runes never even show up after that. his system also changes and becomes a typical system. it was supposed to be world that used runes. and his system was supposed to be some kind of retrieval or translation system. but then once he gets to the academy. there only beast taming and levelling up. no more runes or upgrading his rune master level or anything like that. and his system which was a transaction system becomes a system which upgrades pets, gives missions, etc. the whole thing changes after a few chapters. the only reason, I picked it up was because I saw the title, but the story has nothing to do with it after a while.
Unfortunately i really enjoyed this work up until around ch 100 or so. After that the author completely ignored the story and world building up to that point and actually seemed to change the genre and the entire technological age without giving any explanation. The authors blatant disrespect for their readers in this regard, which almost felt like they were trolling the audience will ensure that I never read anything from this author ever again.
OK MC was strong using magic but novel change genre to beast-tamer. Don't get me wrong I love breast-tamer novels; however, the reason I love reading this novel is gone. Where are the MC's RUNES!!! The MC had time-space, Fate, elements, and physical RUNES. The Author trade "OP!!" for "BEAST-TAMER!!" AUTHOR GIVE ME MY RUNE BASE MC BACK PLEASE!! Past all this it good but just get boring when he turned into a beast-tamer and lost all his powers.
Author often has amnesia and so does the MC. Chapter 1-80, MC has Rune System. Chapter 80-100, MC has Cheat System. Chapter 101-325, MC has Beast Tamer System. Chapter 326, MC has Beast Tamer System but in another form, and somehow forgot everything he has done, and also became younger. I'm at chapter 350 and I see no hope of continuity. The author often changes the storyline, and in each change, the MC often goes through a period of selective amnesia. Forgetting his strengths and gaining weaknesses. Add to the fact that after glancing through the titles for future chapters till 600, there seems to be no link to the past 300 chapters at the start. To everyone who might read this, you can follow my guide above. Read and stop at those points. Leave the novel and come back when you're forgotten everything. It will feel much better than suddenly reading and feeling so annoyed at the changes in the story. Not recommended for those who enjoy a smooth read, or those who actually expect "Shock! The Runes are in English!" instead of "Shock! The MC has amnesia and so does the System!"
Before academy, MC was at least following the general outline of a story. The rune system seemed a little understated but was at least easy to follow and for a quick casual novel to read. The author continues to WOW with his awesomeness. He passes the entrance exams at the academy and then the story completely changes. A three year school was completed in a month. So essentially he didnt learn a single thing in that school. The rune systEm has completed vanished, which was the whole point of the book. Sure, incorporate a beast sYstem in and have beast enhancing runes, close combat beasts r distractions and have your speLls be the firepower. I went to trash bery quickly when the beast master nonesense was added. Do Not waste your time.
Literal worst garbage of a novel, absolute fogging waste of time. Never wrote a review, so i'm dumping my complains and a few of my thoughts here. Started out with massive potential, one of the most excited i've been, only to be severely disappointed hours later. I have quite the high tolerance in regards to these fast food novels, and it's the first time i'm getting so triggered it haunts me to sleep prompting me to wake up and write a review the next morning. MC can do runes with english(system) and even hints of other language being present. Very OP. Too OP that the author decided to nerf him altogether by changing the content of the novel. Should've stopped reading after spotting a few massive bruh signs. TL Quality: Grammar and stuff is fine, lots of inconsistencies with the namings, but still readable. Updates: Don't bother reading up to the latest chapter, appreciate whoever is translating(?) this though. Story Development: Alright, here's the thing. If you're hooked because of the title/ synopsis of the story and is hell-bent on giving it a try, i suggest wasting your time reading the first 100 chapters or so, at most until he enters the academy. Reason? Shock! the novel is about beast taming! My guy threw his whole dam companions to the abyss--they're just gone and never mentioned again. All previously established thoughts/ levels/ system is broken such that it's an entirely new novel. With the occasional naming errors, it do be like that. Not gonna go too deep into this because it's just... fvvk. Character: If there's one thing the novel is good at it's that there is character development(degradation). At the start, MC seem to be using some of his brain capacity to get creative and think of the most common logic to use his system, nothing too surprising with these kinds of novel. Then his previously mature(tf) thoughts slowly adapted to his current body age. (stopped reading around 130s because of a comment i saw warning me of the story -- read the titles of the future chapters, decided to drop this) Can't say much about this part because i'd say it's still too early to say there has been a largely apparent character development. Literal character design? Your usual handsome casanova and smooth as silk pale as milk beauty. World Background : No defining separation between power levels. Can't even think of words anymore, realises i've been wasting time reading and writing this combined... Shouldn't have done both. tldr: read only the first 100 chapter prior to starting his academy class, if you're into Shock! the spell is in english! novel took a big U-turn and Shock! i can now catch pokemon?!?! if you're into that type of novel then go on, you've been warned. .
At first I thought this was going to be a decent story. It was talking about runes and how runes can make someone powerful and it seem like that would be the case until you went to the Rune school. He was able to get in and then all of a sudden he could pick three different school for learning runes and one of them was a beast school. Not once in the first 100 chapters does the author ever talked about fierce beast and different types of runes master, all he talked about that a person learns runes to become powerful, but then he turns around and changes the whole story about beast and pet best? Don't waste your coins on this, wait until they offer it for free and if you have nothing to read, then read it only when its free. I wish I could get my coins back, [img=faceslap]
This story is 95% filler. The author appears to have a rule requiring him to restate everything at least three times from different angles. You can skip chapters and not miss anything because the next chapter will likely recap any major event that happened in the previous chapter. The story is aimless. It's written from an extremely immature and sexist perspective. The MC is a perfect piece of garbage with no goals. The author tries to build him up as all-powerful and yet also somehow a complete noobie in need of improvement— A hard sell that few would buy into. Then the story apparently baits and switches to a different theme and dumps all the characters it was building up (even if they were basically two-dimensional and useless). AKA. The story was so boring even the author decided to abandon it to write a different one without starting over. I feel bad for the translator and that's the origin of any score this novel has. Don't waste your time on this.
I have three kinda major gripes. one is that the main characters personality grossly changes at times and a great example of the random changes as well as just some of the annoying randomness of this novel is the activation of the pillars. my other gripe is at about 100? or so he joins that school thing but all of a sudden his cheat is just a system with pets and not even about the ruins or ancient texts that he can convert in English that was super cool and unique. to be honest I had to leave multiple times in order to check if I was even reading the same thing. honestly that is so bad and confusing it actually lead me to this being my first comment/review. do I recommend it still, sure, but with the full disclosure that the end might be painful.
the only reason I picked this book up is because I saw that the magic language in this book was English instead of the cliche Chinese stuff. so let me explain what happens after the MC goes to magic academy after a few chapters. before he reaches the academy:- 1)the power system used in the world is runes. 2)the stronger the runes you have, the stronger you are. 3)rune masters is the occupation. 4)the system the MC has is a translation/retrieval system which can retrieve memories of dead people. it can translate the runes. after MC reaches the academy:- 1)the MC starts beast taming. 2)the power system suddenly becomes beast taming. 3)system miraculously becomes a beast taming system that gives missions, upgrades his pets, etc. no more runes. none at all. only beast taming. 4)no more runeasters. only beast masters. the author must have been out of his mind when he was writing this novel. or maybe he was too high to even notice all this.
