Rusted Souls [RWBYxRust]

Three friends find themselves on Remnant, on the ass end of the planet; often referred to as Menagerie. They are not helpless however, with strange otherworldly and dare I say reality bending if not breaking abilities. Gifted knowledge, power, and immortality; may Oum have mercy on Remnant. Author Note: This story is a brain bubble that keeps on bugging. I was watching some Rust YouTube, and thought on how to bring rust abilities into a 'real' non-game-environment or at least beyond 'hit rock get '5' wood' like what is 5 wood? Then I thought of Worm and its tinker abilities and decided to 'fuse' the two, but what IS Rust Tech, and how do I incorporate scrap into this; what is scrap even? This spiraled down until I decided to scrap Rusts entire crafting system, keep the inventory and be ambiguous on the resources, less '100 wood' and more 'I chopped down X amount of trees and now have enough wood to build Y, the wood is stored in my inventory'. This will hopefully be explained more. The crafting is completely different and if that turns you away, so be it. What is the same: Building(ish) Guns (Dust and mechashift will have its place here) Respawning (bed down or spawn at origin point/random spawn on a beach of Menagerie)

Chapter Nine: Boom Goes The Dynamite

Winter Schnee, first born to one Jacques Schnee formerly Gele, and Willow Schnee. Former Heiress to the Schnee Dust Company, along with the newly granted title of Specialist of the Atlesian Army. A title she bore with pride.

Sadly a pride that couldn't be shared with anyone. Leaving behind her drunken mother, a spoiled brother, and a dear sister; one could say she was selfish, and she wouldn't deny it.

So when she heard news that her sister would be touring one of her fathers warehouses as a means of publicity to bolster support for a new, cheaper, and far less safe method of containing dust, she wanted to be there.

Applying for a brief leave was simple, one with her record being as spotless as it is granted a few privileges'. It didn't hurt that Ironwood had a soft spot for the Schnee, practically raising the girl.

So when she arrived to the factory only to see three individuals skulking in the darkness, her instincts born of her training kicked in.

One of them muttered an order to the two sitting in the odd vehicle. The blades winding up, before the craft took air.

For a moment she was dumbstruck, never having heard of such a method of flight before, and then she turned her eyes to the two male figures that where becoming more clear as her eyes adjusted to the darkness.

One of the two held a heavy looking shotgun and the other a LMG, before she could even react to the new information, the one with the LMG unloaded on her position. It was only through countless hours of training that she summoned up a Creeper to take the first few shots, and allow her to take cover on a nearby roof.

The gunner put down suppressing fire on her position, while she focused on summoning more Grimm. A few silver alpha beowolves bounded from her position, she heard the report of the other man's weapon, an automatic shotgun, and felt her summons die. Calling on her semblance once more she created a Glyph to speed her up, rocketing out of her location and targeting the one with the LMG.

Getting closer to him she briefly took in the rather terrifying visage of an Oni mask, before he bounded back to mechashift his weapon before clashing with her saber. The weight of a black metal mace bashed into her, speed and velocity she had in spades, but she lacked the weight and strength that her opponent did.

She felt her aura flare briefly, mental taking off a few more percentages, before clashing once more with the man, maneuvering herself so that his friend couldn't get a clean shot off. A quick glace toward the other man left her in confusion, as he was just sitting there, watching the fight.

Growling at the fact that they weren't even taking this seriously, she created a Time Glyph speeding up her attacks to try and overwhelm the slower swinging man.

With each clash a bit of his aura dropped, but then something happened that none of them were expecting.

The sound of a lottery machine was heard on the roof. Both the combatant's disengaged, Winter looked at the other man only to see him staring intently at her opponent.

Her opponents' aura glowed a brilliant gold, before the image of a lottery wheel appeared behind him. The wheel started spinning, before landing on one of the divisions.

[Fire Rate x10] A synthetic voice stated.

Then the wheel spun again.

[Infinite Ammo] It said again. Winter suddenly felt a sinking feeling in her stomach, slowly inching backward towards cover.

[CRASH] The synthetic voice declared, before the wheel vanished.

"Heeheeheheeeeeheeee. Kukukukukukuk." The man started chuckling before devolving into a rather creepy laugh. His mace suddenly reverting to a LMG, before out of nowhere a revolving grenade launcher appeared in his other hand.

"The Oni of Greed. Has a nice ring doesn't it?" The other man voiced out.

"Hehehe. That it does. That it does." The now named Oni of Greed stated. He then pointed both weapons at her. "Boo." She ran. Bullets flew out of the gun so fast, the muzzle flash was a solid light. The only saving grace was the increase in recoil, however the grenades evened that determent out real well.

Winter ran, aura rapidly depleting and gritting her teeth as bullets slammed into her back. One last glace back left her face to face with a incoming grenade.

Boom.
