10 The Fabled Blade Of Tathagata, and Leaving To Be The Strongest

"You're going to leave me?" Brynhildr spoke in a dejected voice. Thinking that she might spend another God knows how many days, months, or years, just to find another suitable wielder.

"No... It's just that I recognize this excellent katana." Otto smiled softly, as he hit the jackpot and thought that he was seriously a Buddha. His trip here didn't go to waste as he found a legendary weapon that was used to kill Gods.

"What is it? I only knew that sword existed for a very long time, way before I sealed myself in a sword. No one even knows its name or where it came from." Brynhildr doesn't seem to know the origin of the sword...

"Do you know about it?" She asked.

"It's called Blade of Tathagata." The katana was made from 48000 lives and it is known as the Greatest Sword in the World. It looks like any ordinary mass-produced katanas but this one in particular, however, resonated with me somewhat perfectly.

"A sword that was the 2nd masterpiece made before the blacksmith is killed by the commissioner of the sword. So that he couldn't make another treasure that could rival this sword."

"What's its ability?" Brynhildr was confident that her abilities were still superior to it.

"To cut," Otto stated simply.

"Only that?" Brynhildr was disappointed as to why Otto was very excited to see it, with such simple ability.

"Yeah. The ability to cut anything in the world. Even you." Blade of Tathagata has the design of a simple katana, which makes it cool.

Otto wondered if he could modify this blade later on, once he had fully recovered his authority.

"My third weapon." Otto smiled softly as he remembered a green-haired swordsman who wore a bandana.

"Third!?" Brynhildr was shocked as she thought that he had only cheated on her with the one he was currently holding. But had a third one somewhere lying around?

"Got a problem? About me having 3 swords?" Otto looked at the Brynhildr who was quiet. "More sword equals cool." He muttered as he left the sanctuary.

...

"That was faster than I had expected." Bismarck patted Otto's back as it was slapped by him.

"How long did you think I was going to spend in that gloomy space?" Otto asked as they were underestimating him way too much.

"I'd say around half a day," Jin replied.

'Well, I think that would be reasonable why they thought I would spend longer...' He thought.

"So can I go home now?" Otto looked at Bismarck.

"I got the sword you wanted me to pick up." He waved Brynhildr around.

"You're leaving already?" Takashi went to Otto.

"Yeah, it's not like I want to be here," Otto stated casually as he had already got what he came for, and he didn't seem to be too fond of making friends with them.

"Why don't we stay in Japan for a while longer?" Bismarck scratched his head as, initially he wanted Otto to train here... But he never really expected that he would straight out kill an elder. Because of that, he was sure that the other elders would drive him away as they now view him as dangerous, coupled with the fact that he is now the master of Brynhildr.

"Japan?" Otto muttered. "Can I leave? Along as I'm still in Japan." He didn't like living here as he wasn't used to it, though the landscape is calm than the urban area.

"..." Jin and Bismarck turned silent before someone spoke up.

"Cheh! Leave all you like. No one's going to care!" Kurumi shouted at Otto as she didn't have a high opinion of him.

"See?" Otto just shrugged at her like it didn't even matter as he walked away.

They all look at Otto's back going farther.

"I think you were too harsh at him, Kurumi," Basara said as Takashi also shared the same opinion, and nodded.

"OOWW!" Yuki smacked Kurumi's head.

"What was that for!?" She clutched her head, confused as to why her sister had hit her. Didn't she also want him away?

"You went too far," Yuki said to Kurumi who was about to cry and run away.

"Sorry Uncle Bismarck." She bowed and apologized to Bismarck for her sister.

"It's fine, no need to worry about it." Bismarck sighed.

"Otto was someone who grew up alone after all, so he doesn't know how to properly communicate with kids of his age. I also brought him here so that he could at least find something or someone, better to do other than being holed up in his room alone, and hope he could make some few friends here..." He added.

"Well, raising a kid alone isn't easy. Now is it?" Jin stated as he remembered Bismarck making a fuss about raising a kid was a very simple job.

But he didn't know that Bismarck got it easy. Since Otto wasn't a kid in the head, nor did Bismarck notice it, and just thought it was normal for children who are born as genius.

"Can I be his friend?" Takashi spoke up.

"If you want to be one, ask Otto instead of us old men." Bismarck and Jin just smiled at the four.

...

Otto who was walking towards Bismarck's house was located to pack his things up to leave this Village.

"You want to leave?" Brynhildr's voice reached his head.

"Didn't you want to leave this place too?" He replied making her silent for a moment, and thought that he was going to leave her behind.

"What are you going to do next?" Hearing that Otto stopped and wondered what he was going to do once he'd left the Village, as he didn't have anywhere to go currently.

"I... Don't know." He couldn't think of an answer, as he realized that he didn't have any single goal or ambition that he wanted to achieve. Since he already got what he wanted. Power he has with the Code: Unknown, Wealth with the Apocalypse's fortune, and needs... He didn't have a purpose in this life at the moment. Maybe that's what he wants to learn about.

Up until now, he hasn't done anything productive other than properly grooming himself to have a neat appearance, any else other than that is just him being lazy and complaining about the smallest things that irks him. Like in his previous life.

"Do you have a hobby?" She asked.

"Playing games? A swordfight? Sleeping? I don't know really..." He just said what he had been doing in the past few days.

"Games... And swordfight? Hmmm..." Brynhildr thought how uninteresting those were. But understood where he was coming from. A kid who just discovered swordsmanship and had a talent for it.

"How about you join a mage-knight school?" She suggested.

"A mage-knight? What's that? Shouldn't it be a samurai or something? It's Japan after all." Otto couldn't recall anything about mage-knight in Basara's show.

"It's a school designed for Blazers."

"Blazers?" Otto thought of the word familiar in another anime.

"They are special individuals that could be found in one in a thousand, they're capable of manifesting their soul as a weapon and wielding magic powers."

Otto started to think this world wasn't as simple as he thought it would be...

"Blazers could wield amazing powers that would go as far as against the natural laws of the world. And that only limit to how much magic power they could use, because a person's magic power is fixed the moment of their birth, meaning it can't be increased by doing training." Brynhildr explained which more or less made Otto gain interest about it.

"Is that so? Then am I blazer?" The things she yapped about only applied if he was a blazer though.

"You certainly are, your magic power itself is way out of the charts. You probably can get to any academy you want to enroll in." Brynhildr could feel Otto's magic power already surpassed Bismarck's or even Jin's magic power.

But his control over it is messy. It wasn't leaking outside his body, but it was constantly running wild inside him. It also made her wonder how he managed to keep that going without getting any pain.

"Would they even accept 10 year olds?" Otto asked since it was logical as there was no way a school would let children fight each other at that age.

"Wait... You're ten?" She sounded surprised.

"I mean is it obvious?"

"You certainly don't look like one to me! I was under the impression you were like thirteen to fifteen or something." How could someone have this build be a 10-year-old kid!? I heard gossip along the way, that he had killed an elder of this village.

"Tsk." Otto moved on and packed his things to leave.

....

After a few hours, Otto was done packing some food, money, and his ID.

He is now dressed in a long white robe, a haori, and a black turtleneck undershirt.

"WAITTT!!" Kurumi called to Otto who was about to leave.

"What do you want now?" He turned around to Kurumi who was catching her breath.

"hufff- I just. I just wanna say sorry. Okay?" She bowed to him.

"What for?" Otto looked confused as to why she was apologizing.

"Huh? I thought about what had I said earlier, and figured that I had gone too far." She said.

"Too far? To me not really, whether you said those or not I still won't change my mind. I'm still leaving the Village."

"Huh? Then you're still upset." She concluded.

"I'm not though. Why would I be? This place is boring." Otto wondered, even if he complained a lot, he wasn't angry at anyone at all.

"You are! Look how calm you are! It's like you couldn't help but hit me."

"Heh, I think this little girl likes you." Brynhildr teased Otto in his head.

*Sigh* "Think what you must, I'll get going now." Otto turned around and left her.

"WAAITT! You haven't accepted my apology!" Kurumi shouted as she once again ran to him, grabbing his haori.

"You're persistent aren't ya?" He looked at her for a moment.

"Fine I forgive you-" He said dryly as there wasn't even any reason to forgive someone who didn't do anything wrong.

"Mmmm... You're still mad." She pouted. "Where are you even going?" Kurumi thought that he would be lost the moment he stepped outside the barrier.

"To the city of course."

"Why would you even want to go there?"

"That's why I'm going there. To find it out." He wanted to visit different Dojos and academies that specialize in raising blazers.

He wants to be strong. Without using his authority.

"Can I join you?" Kurumi asked, as she was also bored in the village and wanted to explore Japan a bit more.

"No." He immediately refused, as he wasn't willing to babysit her. Not to mention it was almost snowy season in Japan.

"Why?"

"Just no, besides won't your sister be worried about you? Now go back, I already forgave you." Otto shooed her away from him.

'You sure you don't her to join you~?' Otto could feel Brynhildr giggling by herself like she was watching a drama.

"Otto, wait up, you forgot something." Bismarck was the one who called to him this time.

"I'm sure I packed everything, old man."

"I forgot to give this to you when you got Brynhildr." The old man gave Otto a gold necklace that had what looked like a golden sword as a design.

"What is it?"

"It's a pendant, that was with you when you were a kid." Bismarck took it from the basket when he was a baby.

Otto thought that this had to be some kind of a creepy coincidence... This necklace was similar to what Luocha had.

"Don't go too wild out there." As soon as Otto received it he turned around and walked away.

"Are you trying to be cool old man?" When Otto said it Bismarck flinched for a moment before leaving in embarrassment.

"Is he your father? He seemed to be a good one." Brynhildr asks.

"Adoptive father to be exact. And as for him being a good father? In my opinion not really..." In his perspective, Bismarck was just an old man who just wanted to see another perspective of life, back when Otto was just a baby on that rainy night.

Bismarck was nothing more but a hunting dog that kills when he's told, mindlessly killing the targets that he'd just met, just because of that they started treating him as a hero like Jin. Encountering Otto just gave him a reason to try and change that.

But after many attempts of parenting, in the end, he gave up and just let Theresa raise him, and just went to his previous ways. Neglecting Otto altogether and just letting him do whatever he wanted. He could rape the maids in their house, and Bismarck wouldn't even bat an eye at it nor was he going to lecture Otto about morals, since he didn't have any of it.

For Otto being neglected? He didn't mind it, after all, Bismarck did give him what he wanted. A life of luxury and a noble position in society, though he's not currently known.

All in all Bismarck, in Otto's eyes. Is just another piece of shit that did whatever he wanted.

"Really? You seem to care a lot about him." She said.

"Of course I do. He's my wallet after all." He casually replied as if he couldn't even hate the Old man. Making Brynhildr wonder what kind of person her new master is, and why she has a strong compatibility with him.
