Red Pepper Afraid Of Spicy
Translation is okay but not the best. The reason I dropped the novel is because the mc is too indifferent and heartless. He could literally see a 10 year old child getting raped and tortured on the streets and be like hmm not my problem even though he is much stronger than the rapist. In case the rapist actually attacks the mc only then will he kill him. Of course something like that didn't happen in the novel but I hope you get the gist and understand what type of person he is. I don't expect him to risk his life to help others but he wouldn't even raise his pinky finger even if he is capable of helping. And in case I got some replies like but in chapter xxx he saved the life of xxx. Yeah but his reason was: " I went all the way here it would be a shame to just return". The plot required him save xxx.
Love the story - good world building, smart characters, smart MC and probably the best romance I've read in xianxia. I was fooled by the title expecting another cookie cutter system story with OP MC & dull romance. Completely subverted my expectations though. The MC is a little too low-key but again as an ant among the world of giants, one can't stand out too much. He does grow as the story progresses. Good romance that is slowly built over time from indifference to companionship to romance. Worldbuilding - as the story progresses one understands more about the Great Desolate World & many of the actions which seemed non-sensical or dumb in the earlier chapters are made self evident. All in all a worthy read over the weekend.
This is one of those sign in system genre but with a twist. Instead of silently sign in and got some random chump attacking his signing base, it's his fiancee. This is romance one, not the cold virgin sign in like usual... I had read it in mtl, quite nice but not too much because female lead stories is far better..
just finished the entire book, it's a one of a kind. Yes the MC might be boring (not hot blooded, and thinking the world revolves around him) but it's cause he plays mind games and thinks things through before using his fist 👊 as a last result. and they are more characters, who don't get whole chapters to themselves but through their interactions with MC you'll get to accommodate and enjoy each character for their uniqueness. world 🌎 building is slow and steady which is perfect, no info dump, and you get to figure stuff out with the MC. story :10/10 . anyone who says it's a bad story hasn't even tried read it
It would be more interesting if he actually had more emotions and desires, (Sign In) MC are so boring that it won't change anything if you replace them by a puppet. I got baited by the title "My Girlfriend From Turquoise Pond Requests My Help After My Millennium Seclusion", it seemed like he was more human because he had a girlfriend... It's like changing "One piece" to "I took the sea to become the pirate King but I fell into the pirate Empress's bath". The worst is that they always want to become immortal, but what's the point of living forever if you want nothing... The characters are bland and not developed, instead it's like an animal documentary. Also we literally know nothing about the world, we don't even know that much about the MC's sect... It would be really fun if those (Sign In) MCs were killed just after becoming immortal, to understand that the more important is the journey not the destination. Translation Quality : 5 Updating Stability : 5 Story Development : 2 Character Design : 1 World Background : 1
The Mc unlike in other novels don't get into trouble every other chapter. Also his sign-in system don't give him x years of cultivation only cultivation techniques, items and consumables. And sometimes the system gives him useless items, while in other sign-in novels the Mc always get items the Mc or their companions can use.
Gods and demons are everywhere in the Grand Desolate World. Jiang Lan finally becomes a disciple of Kunlun Mountain; specifically—the only disciple of the Ninth Summit. Knowing the dangers outside, he decides to stay hidden in the Ninth Summit’s Netherworld Cave and cultivate in seclusion. With a unique sign-in system unknown to everyone else, Jiang Lan acquires several divine powers, Dharma treasures, and other aids to enhance his cultivation along the way. His current goal is to keep his actual cultivation level a secret, remain a low-key Kunlun disciple and stay out of harm’s way until he is strong enough to take on any obstacles. Only when he emerges from his cultivation after some time does his Master bring him an important message: Kunlun has found him a fiancée.
Ive read more than a hundred cultivation novels, and I must say this was really a breath of fresh air. The writing isn't flashy or action packed, very slow in fact, but every chapter dragged me in a little deeper until I was completely immersed in this new world. Until I discovered the rarest and most valued heavenly treasure of webnovel, a satisfying ending. I wept like a baby in the best way. Those who slander the pacing and turtle mc lack the disposition required to advance to the sage realm can be safely ignored.
I love this book! The interactions, the little skirmishes at the inn, the beauty of the spiritual courtyard especially those cute ice cicadas, the sly and amusing Martial Aunt Miao Yue with her sinister machinations, the wholesome little exchanges between Jiang Lan and Ao Longyu.... these never fail to amuse me. I love and have enjoyed every little aspect that makes it all the more wholesome. Jiang Lan doesn't speak much but his brevity makes his words have a certain flair... a mysterious sobriety in it that none can ignore. He is definitely not simple. I mean, how can anyone who gains a 20 years of epiphany from just hearing words like, "Junior Brother is otherworldly..", be anything but extraordinary. Wait,.. that's an understatement. This was few of the rare times when the inn owner was genuinely the most dumbfounded in like.. ever. Hahaha... that was just hilarious 😂😂!! I was very satisfied with how things ended, which is very rare when I read WN. I'm very thankful to the author for letting me experience the extremes of emotions. My days have been very blissful all thanks to you!!
