hmm this sequel isn't grabbing me like lord of mysteries did. I'm just getting strung along hoping for little tidbits of familiar knowledge. This is a consequence of the world building being already extremely established, the sense of mystery is less engaging and just an excersize in tedium at this point

its a bit odd to me that he continues to have issues with money. In a city this large, there wouldn't be a lack of tainted aristocrats to clean out. I think his subconscious compulsion to "earn" money through performances is to blame for this oversight

yeah no this logic is bs. power is relative, no matter how much they hop them up on beast cores, there will be powerful monsters to humble them. If there was an issue of needing time to learn to control power spikes then I could MAYBE see it. Fantasy setting or not this outlook gaining any sort of wide spread traction extremely unrealistic

this rule... is actually really hard for me reconcile with the world building so far. Even the beginner villages are getting wiped by hordes, kids are getting eaten by the dozen, and every parent just accepts this? I call bs.
This would give them a fake sense of security seeing that their stat points would drastically increase due to the power of the Beast Cores.
