Chapter 9: Attack

We arrived at the school where the music was blasting, and the lights were playing colourfully.

"I'll see you tomorrow," Jason said. He opened the door for me, and I stood for a second.

"Aren't they dangerous?  can I trust them? "

Jason was stunned for a moment, and then he slammed the door behind me.

"If they try to hurt you," he immediately picked up my phone and wrote his phone number, "you know where to call."

"Jason."  I paused briefly and continued, "Forget it, I'll write to you tomorrow when I'm free," and jumped out outside.

Panting, I was still trying to digest all the information I had received in the last 24 hours.  Monsters, demons, angels, the gates.  It all exists.

I ran to school and immediately reached my locker, where my angelic company was already waiting for me, well, almost angelic.

Leo ran up to me right away

"Sarah, how are you feeling?"  he took me by the elbow as if I were about to fall.

"I'm all right. I'm just not used to such big parties."  I immediately saw Susie from behind, squeezing her jaw with anger.  She likes Leo, but suddenly I appear out of nowhere and taking all his attention to myself.  I quickly pulled away from Leo.  "Now, let's go to a real party."

"Oh Yes," Cas picked up on my idea.  He quickly took Leo's keys from his pockets and ran to the yard.  I ran after him while Susie and Leo were proceeding the information.

The two of us took first places in the car, while Leo and Suzie ran from afar. I decided to use this moment and answer one of my questions.

"Suzie definitely likes Leo," I pretended to say it jokingly.

"Of course," Cas replied while laughing. "She's been hitting on him for a long time, I already have my brains soaked with stories from her about Leo." then he fell silent abruptly and continued, "But now Leo has set his eyes on someone else."

"I wonder who" I finished this topic. So, I was right. I don't want to step between them. Plus, I need to deal with all these sects of demons and angels right now.

"You assholes," Suzie said, opening the back door of the car.

"Seconded," Leo added. We all laughed together and drove to Leo's house.

At the house, we quickly grabbed the blankets and made some popcorn.

"Leo I'm going to buy some pop drinks from the gas station, you coming with me?" Suzie blinked with her eyes. She wanted to go with him alone.

"Nah, stay here. I need to get something from the gas station, too," Cas answered instead of Leo. Suzie gave a fake smile.

"Okay, let's go."

They left. There was only me and Leo left in the house. We went to the basement to grab a few more blankets.

"Okay, hold these." Leo gave me a large number of blankets and pillows. I was barely balancing myself.

"If I'm gonna trip and die, I will hunt your ass." After that, Leo laughed.

"Don't worry. I won't let that."

He grabbed a few more staff and tilted his head towards the doors. "I think that's it. Let's go". I followed him but accidentally stepped on the blanked and tripped. Leo quickly rushed to help me. "Gotcha," he lifted me with one hand. "So you really want to hunt my ass," we laughed. That's when I realized we were too close to each other. My stomach dropped as I felt his eyes on mine. He leaned forward a little bit, and then I felt a hot sensation on my lips. It was gentle and slow. It felt like he was studying my lips, or he wanted to see my reaction. I wasn't sure if I was doing the right thing, so I pulled away.

"I'm sorry, I don't want to be between you and Suzie."

"Between Suzie and me?" He said quietly, almost whispering to me.

"Yes, and there's...there's something else, but I'm not ready to share yet." I get guilty. I knew the truth about his angelic appearance. I couldn't tell tel because I promised Jason. Shit, Jason. I might have fallen for both of these assbuts.

"Hey, hey, hey..." Leo pulled my hair away from my face and looked directly into my eyes. "Firstly, nothing is going on between Suzie and me. We were friends since diapers, nothing else. And you can share anything that is bothering whatever you ready." He hugged me. It felt like I would say fuck it and go for another kiss, but then...

"We are back!" Cas happily screamed. Leo and I ran upstairs with a whole bunch of blankets. Suzie looked at us but didn't say anything. We finally played the DVD and watched a comedy. I was sitting between Cas and Leo. I couldn't focus on the movie knowing that Leo kissed me in the basement a few minutes ago.

BAM

All four of us looked at the window. BAM BAM. The glass began to break.

"To the basement right now," Leo calmly said.

"But what is..." I was trying to ask, but then Leo screamed, "I SAID NOW."
