Chapter 8: Angels and Demons

I quickly run towards the school. I wasn't sure what was happening. Jason, with red eyes and a magical sword, just killed a snake looking beast.

I got even closer to school, but then I heard the sound of the car wheels. Somebody opened the door and pulled my arm right inside the car. The doors shut down. I was horrified. I was prepared to scream, but the somebody held my face with two palms and looked right into my eyes.

"Sarah calms down, let me explain everything," Jason spoke really softly. "You have to trust me."

"T...Trust? What, what are you talking about?" my voice was shaking, my mind was flipped upside down.

"I'm going to show you something, let's go." he pressed the gas pedal and turned away from school. I squeaked and tried not to do anything stupid.

"Sarah, you know I would never hurt you. I'm just going to show you something, and then you will decide to trust me or not." He said again, keeping his voice quiet.

"Please tell me what happened... What happened back there?" my voice was breaking.

"These were monogolies."

"Mono-what?"

" They are snake-like creatures that can shapeshift into humans."

"Shapeshifters?"

"Almost," he laughed. "Monogolies are much stronger."

He said as a casual thing for him. So this means there are shapeshifters too?

"Then...who are you?

"I have demon blood," he said coldly "But that doesn't mean I'm Satan or whatever you think that is. You don't have to worry. We are not bad, and we fight for the common good."

The demon? What? Why am I so surprised right now? I used powers to kill that beast in the forest. My leg healed by itself. I had visions, and my necklace was glowing.

"I see," I said out loud, as a conclusion to my thoughts. We pulled up to the same Whale cafe.

"Let's go" Jason left the car and opened my side of the door. I followed him into the building, where the lights were turned off completely. He went to another door and lightly waved with his hand about it. The light red light followed his movement. I heard the locks making sounds, and the door opened. I didn't question him any more. I just followed him. The corridor was a bit longer than I expected. We entered another door, and that's when my jaw dropped. It looked like the future. A lot of led light, many tables were people were sitting. Some were creating the crafts, and others were discussing something. I saw the same dudes that were with Jason behind the school; they were joking and laughing about something together. All of a sudden, all the looks were on Jason and me.

"He is waiting for you at his office," some ginger-haired girl said. She looked very sporty, but her look was so mean. Against her, I looked like a homeless puppy.

Jason held my shoulder and gave me a warm look, which meant that I have nothing to worry about. We entered the office and saw some old aged business looked man.

"Oh Jason, nice to see you, and this is..." His blue eyes looked at me, and he stood for a second. He came up quickly to me and held my head. I felt like somebody entered my mind and was reading it. It was only for a second, but it felt like somebody took a picture of my head with a flashlight. I backed up and began to breathe slowly. Jason helped me to balance on my feet.

"Jason, I need to have a minute with this young lady, Sarah" How did he know my name? How...?

Jason quickly whispered to me, "Everything will be alright, trust me. I will be right outside this door."

"Sorry for not introducing myself. My name is professor Roma. Please take a seat' I followed his orders and quietly sat on the chair. His office was filled with books on the wall—some sketches of various things that looked unknown to me.

"Loss of memory, five years ago, right?"

"I had a car accident, which cost me my memory." I tried to keep it short.

"Or that is what others wanted you to believe," he said with a slight smile on his face. "You don't have human blood."

I nervously laughed.

"What do you mean by that."

"You somehow survived an attack of an unknown beast and came back home. I saw your memory, Sarah. You know you are special."

"I...I...I thought that I had glitches because I stopped drinking my medication."

"The medication just prevented you from discovering your powers," he said with confidence. I covered my face trying to understand what was happening. I looked up at him again and asked.

"What is this place? What are you doing here?"

"I was waiting for you to ask that. This is our safe house from angel creatures and other beasts out there. We train here, recover and discuss our plans. Currently, we are trying to stop one evil plan." He looked away and said, " Somebody is trying to open the gate into the world where nobody should alter, at all. That's were all pure-blooded demons and angels are." Great, we have angels too.

"That's why I'm here? You want my help? Sorry to disappoint you, but I have no idea how to fight with..." I lifted my hands into the air. "With these, with and without magic."

" No Sarah, somebody has also ordered to kill you. Jason was working undercover. He pretended to be one of the monogolies, and they wanted you dead."

"He saved me?" That is why he was talking about the order to that dude in the hood.

"Exactly. After you survived the attack in the forest, they didn't want you to tell anyone what you saw." He stood up and slightly coughed, "I think Jason will be more helpful with the information. He will be your guardian. Here you will learn how to fight, use all the needed weapons and discover more about your powers."

"Thank you," I smiled and was heading towards the exit. I saw Jason nervously moving his foot on the floor.

"Hello, my guardian..." I tried to laugh, but the guild inside of me didn't let me."I'm so so so sorry for ignoring you. I didn't know that you were trying..."

"Shh that's okay, come here" He hugged me, giving me comfort and feeling of being protected. I closed my eyes and breathed out. I felt his heartbeat, and it was so hypnotizing. "Your technically one of us now," he smiled and tapped me on my head.

" Not yet," the ginger-haired girl said while making a full circle around us"Why should we trust her? She hangs out with the angelic garbage."

" I hang out with whom?" Who the hell is she talking about?

"Julia, not now, really. Sarah, I'll tell you in the car." Car, huh, oh crap! I left my phone in the car. I tried to check my pockets, but I was wearing a dress, and I had non.

"Jason we need to go back now, I left my phone inside your car." Jason tilts his head towards the exit door.

We left the building, and it was still weird for me. I slowly began to understand myself and mysterious accidents in this town. As soon as we entered the car, I checked my phone.

"Five missed phone calls from Leo," I said while holding my head.

"About them," Jason clenched his cheekbones and continued, " The reason we don't like each other, is because they have angel blood. Except for Cas, his a pure-blooded human."

"What are you telling me to do now? Pretend as nothing happened? Like I'm still clueless about this whole thing? That's impossible" I buried my fingers into my hair and closed my eyes.

"You have to, that's for your safety." He continued looking at me. " We don't know if they are trying to help the monogolies; some angels and demons want to use the gate to capture the world were the harmony between angel creatures and demons is balanced." I boned, letting him know that I understood and immediately called Leo.

"Sarah, where the hell are you?" Leo's voice was mad. I looked Jason straight in the eyes and said

"Ahh, sorry I felt a bit dizzy and went outside to get some fresh, I'll be coming back soon, wait for me inside."

"You sure you okay? Do you want me to get you?" Now he sounded like he is worried about me.

"Um, no, no, it's okay. Just wait for me by my locker so we can all leave together as a group, okay?"

"Sounds great. Be careful, Sarah, if you see anything suspicious..."

" I will run inside the school, I know I know" I looked at Jason with a straight face while he was holding back his hysterical laugh. " Bye, see you soon" I ended the call, and that's when Jason broke his laugh.

"Oh my god...Leo is a bit late with that suggestion, don't you think?" He laughed even more while saying that. I punched him lightly in the shoulder.

" Okay, let's go, Jason."

"Of course, madam."

It feels like Jason and I are finally on the same wave with each other. He opened up to me from a completely different side today. And now I'm part of the demons group. Where will this all lead me to?
