Chapter 7: Dance

Today is Friday, the dance day. Right after classes I rushed home to get dressed and meet up with my friends. I try to avoid my mom as much as possible, my medication is hidden in my locker at school, so she shouldn't question or bother me about it anymore.

"Sarah I don't like your company." My mom said very seriously.

"You don't even know them, come on. They are great, and we are going to the dance together, me, Cas, Leo and Suzie."

"You can go with Cas, but hell no to Leo and Suzie, they have bad influence on you."

"What are you talking about? What bad influence? How can you judge people so easily, I knew them only for one week."

"Mother instincts."

"Not to be rude mom, but I only trust my guts, and they tell me that those guys are great." I quickly run up stairs to avoid more conversations with her. After our big fight, our relationship was ruined completely. We were never on a good terms, and she was never a good mother to me. I felt like I'm her thing she owns.

       I picked a black dress, the length was slightly higher than my knee cups. I curled my hair and slightly fixed my face with makeup. Then, I decided to fix my necklace that was gifted by one of the doctors. I looked at it, it was so pretty. Then I got hypnotized. The picture around me became unclear. All I could see is the rock inside the necklace. The white light broke through and I lost conciseness. Same thing as last time when I saw the moon. The fight flashed before my eyes. Screams, pain, and sadness. Then I saw my self in the mirror, wearing white light dress, my shoulders were uncovered, my hair was long. I tried to touch the mirror but it got all broken down and fell on the floor. I looked down and saw my reflection, which was different. One of my eyes reflected an animal eye, a yellow eye, while the second one was still normal with a blue colour. All of a sudden I opened my eyes in my room.

       My head was hearting and I was really confused. My necklace was still glowing , until the light disappeared completely. I don't believe in coincidences anymore. Sooner or later, I have to find out why I keep seeing this flashbacks, how the hell I survived that monster, why can I heal so fast. Knock knock. I saw Leo, Cas and Suzie knocking on my entrance door through my window. I quick run downstairs so my mom wouldn't be able to see them, but I was too late. She opened the door first. They didn't say anything to each other. Leo and Suzie changed their happy face to the terrified one. My mom slightly smiled and called me.

"Have a wonderful night darling"

"Uh, thanks." I said without any emotions. That looked so fake .

"Don't worry, we will look after her" Cas said enthusiastically, while the other two were still terrified. We went straight to Leo's car.

"Can I ask you a question?" Suzie said while looking at me.

"Sure, why not"

"How long have you lived with your mom in Chicago?" That was a completely random question.

"I don't know, for the past five years for sure haha" I laughed really carefully, since I wasn't sure what was going on.

"What do you mean in the past five years?" Leo re asked me. I always try to avoid these kind of conversations, about the accident that took away my memory 5 years ago.

"I...lost my memory." I said while looking away. "Five years ago I got into this huge car accident, and survived. It costed me my memory. The only thing I remember is waking up in the hospital room with many bruises and cuts. That's it."

"Wow. You are so strong, I would go crazy." Cas replied. The truth is, it's driving me crazy that I have no idea who I was 5 years ago.

Once again I felt tense in the air between Suzie and Leo. Maybe I should spy, or ask Cas about them later.

"Are you guys ready to dance?" Suzie asked.

" Not really" I said "I'm more excited to leave this place and go chill with you guys"

"Me too" Leo replied.

We exited the car. Everyone were dressed up. Girls did their makeup, and most of the guys put gel in their hair. Various dresses, and costumes. Different smells of perfume.

We entered the school and went straight to the gym, where the music was blasting. In the crowd of students and teachers, I saw Jason with his company. Sooner or later, I will have to chat with him about what happened. I avoided him as soon as he showed up on the horizon, I was scared to find out the truth. All of a sudden I felt Leo pulling me towards him.

"Stop standing, just dance" Leo tried to over-scream music. I laughed I danced with him. Suzie wasn't really happy about this, I couldn't tell. Maybe she likes him?

The music changed and we went to get some water. I looked at Jason and his company again and i saw how they were leaving the building . They looked suspicious to me. Without telling anyone I followed them.

They went outside of the school to the back garage, where we were keeping all the gym supplies, extra tables and chairs. I stayed hidden behind the wall, so they couldn't see me.

Then suddenly, they pinned one of the dudes to the wall, and blocked his body. He began to growl at them and his face changed to...to something horrible. It was something dark red with black, he had snake's eyes, and they were green. I gasped, and quickly covered my mouth. This is not real, this is not real.

"You think you can just walk around in this school like nothing? You son of a bitch!" Jason punched his face, and that beast began to laugh hysterically.

"There are thousands of us, you can't stop us. We will find the way to open the gates." monster said, with a snake voice.

"Jason, what should we do?" One of his pals asked.

Jason went quite for a while, he looked up at the monster and said.

" I will kill every single one of you!" All of a sudden, his hand began to shine. Then, the long sword appeared and he sliced the beast with it. Jason's eyes were red, and he looked mad. This time I squeaked a bit louder, trying to hold my fear back. Jason noticed me. Shit shit shit. I began to run for my life.
