Chapter 17: beauty sleep

****third-person P.O.V.

"Please no.... *sob* have mercy" She pleaded to no avail as she got dragged by a group of four men into an empty alley.

The alley only had enough space for 3 people to walk at the same time.

The men seem to be enjoying her act of crying and pleading as they laughed at her. She lamented at her bad decision to drink that glass of alcohol in the bar without really knowing the person. Now because of the drug mixed inside it, she couldn't even put effort into her resistance against these men.

" Don't worry, girl. Just think about your crush while closing your eyes and you will come to enjoy it" One of the men remarked as he pinched the girl's cheek before patting her cheeks.

" Please don't.... *sob* I will scream", The girl tried to muster any protest left in her body as she warned.

Sadly it had the opposite effect as all the men started laughing loudly which made her confused.

Suddenly the man from before slapped her hard which made her fall on the floor. He then pulled her hair hard so that her face would be close to his as he leaned forward," Bitch, do you think these bumps on the street would help you after you scream? do you think they don't know already about our presence here? "

He then released her as he turned toward the entrance of the alley and spoke with a raised voice," they are completely aware of what will transpire now with you but they don't have the guts nor do they care about you that much to risk their lives for you" and the group started laughing again.

"Will you please just shut your bloody mouth? You are interrupting my sleep. " A frustrated voice came from the roof of the top of the abandoned house whose wall made the alley.

The group stopped laughing as they and the girl looked at the origin of the voice. Before they could look carefully, someone jumped from the roof.

*** Kar-el P.O.V.

It hadn't been even 3 hours after I got to sleep and some idiots came to disturb my beauty sleep. It had become so tough for a sigma male to get his beauty sleep these days.

I jumped from my rooftop cum bed after they started laughing like hyenas. They were a group of 4 men that seem to become overconfident enough to attempt rape just under my bed during my sleep.

The girl was of Asian-American descent with more profound American genes that seemed to be highly terrified of current events as a normal person would be.

The leader of the group seemed to still have some rationality left in him as he seem to look at me with caution after how I easily landed on my feet from the roof.

" who the fuck are ya?" snarled the leftmost guy in the group.

" This alley is mine, you lot go somewhere else to spend the night," I told while leaning on the wall as I pointed at the alley's exit.

" you dare!!" he screamed as he tried to walk to me but the leader blocked his path with his hand as he smiled at me.

" C'mon guys, no need to be angry. he is right after all. we are the ones disturbing his sleep, let's go somewhere else after all we caught delicious meat today. No need to waste our time fighting with him when we could fight with her." he told his gang of thugs as he kept his eyes on me who was still behaving as if he didn't care about the difference in numbers.

The others grinned at that as he signaled them to flow him. The leader and one of the guys moved first while the other two picked the girl before following them. The girl lost the hope in her eyes that was awakened on my appearance.

When they were just 3 steps away from me while facing me, I remarked," I only said to leave to you thugs, when did I say that you can take the girl too. leave her behind. " while looking at the leader of the group as I stood properly.

" You give them an inch and they try to take a mile. " the leader remarked distastefully while raising an eyebrow," Make quick work of him, I don't want to wait for long now" he ordered the others.

Two of the guys started walking toward me with a distance of a step between them. The one on the left reached me first as he punched at my face, I lightly dodged the blow enough though it was unnecessary before I punched him in his diaphragm which pretty much folded him as he fall flat on the floor with a silent scream.

The other guy suddenly started to think about his life decisions as he stopped in his tracks while observing his friend squirming on the floor like a fish out of water.

He looked at me before gulping once as I waited for him to come at me too.

" what are you doing gawking at him? if he is good with his punches, you have a knife. " the leader screamed as he pulled a knife out of his pockets while stepping forward to encourage the guy, " we are more than him. let's see who wins: his hand or our knives?"

Both lunged at me with knives in their hands, the leader swiped at my stomach while the guy tried to aim at my face at the same time.

I just took a step back silently to get out of the reach of their knives.

Knives were one of the toughest weapons to use against a skilled person because an amateur couldn't output its full potential because of its low attack range.

I quickly put my arm on the guy's hand and twisted it which forced him to drop the knife which I caught with another arm before stabbing it on the leader's palm that he was using to hold the knife. Before he could scream like a pig, I grabbed his head under my arm and pressed a vessel around his neck that quickly made him unconscious before I let him fall which might have broken his nose too.

The alley became absolutely silent as two men were on the floor while others were terrified that if they tried anything, the result would be the same for them too.

"Empty your pockets and theirs and put everything on the floor including your jackets and you could go," I told the men that were still standing.

They quickly followed through and left everything on the floor including their jackets and knives before picking the fallen and running quietly.

I observed my loot that included 3 brick phones and a few gold and silver lockets and dog tags except some cash before turning my attention on the girl which seemed more terrified than before as she huddled herself on the corner into a ball.

"hiiiiii!!!" she squealed afraid as she shivered due to fear or cold or maybe both as I looked at her.

" What are yours inside this?" I asked her in an authoritative tone while pointing at the stash because I didn't think she would reply if I asked her kindly in her state of mind.

" Please... take it all *sob* just leave me alone," she told me fearfully while sobbing.

I shook my head as I looked at the traumatized girl before turning around to walk to the entrance of the alley and sitting there while leaning at the window.

" Looks like I won't be getting much sleep", I muttered silently to myself after sighing at my bad luck as I looked outside the alley to beware the street rats from doing anything wrong.

After a few minutes later, I spoke loudly without looking at the girl," the night would be cold. put those jackets below you and wear one yourself if you don't want to have pneumonia." before closing my eyes.
