Finale pt.3

"So with your satellite down, I am guessing you can't track us for now?"

"I don't intend to." Howard said, "People move out of their houses when they're 18, but I am still glad to see you finally moving out after 80. I mean, you guys are millennials before millennials. It's too early but you'll get the joke in a couple of years."

"So one last job, huh." Victor and James looked at one another.

"Umm...I don't mean to be rude but what am I supposed to do in there? I mean, I can't fight those monsters." Sameer hesitantly said.

"You'll do what you do best, show your talent as a spy and keep them hidden, teach them to mix in and leave the flashy part of fighting for them," Howard said, "You three would make a great team and if in 2 years you're still alive and impress me enough, I have a better work waiting for you."

"I see." Sameer nodded as he glanced at James and Victor, "I'll try my best then, but I'll make it clear I am not that good at fighting super soldiers."

Victor laughed patting his shoulders.

"So what about our identities? It's time, isn't it?" James asked

"I think it's best if you travel without one since you're moving out of the country anyway." Howard said as he took out a pair of chains, "So instead, I have got more of a brilliant plan."

"Dog tags?"

"You don't know how long I have waited for this." Howard said, "You know, I created this when we first went into the Civil War, but I never got the chance to give it to you."

"Don't make us sound guilty for staying home." Victor grabbed his chain, "Sabretooth?"

"Mine says, Wolverine."

"You'll use code names now, much easier than going on with changing your name every time." Howard said, "And in case I need to find you in the future, it will make it easier for me as well."

"So this is it, huh." Victor said wearing the chain, "What are you going to do from now?"

"Well, I need to control whatever is happening to me first, so I'd like to stay out of fights." Howard said, "And then I'll change my identity once again, and continue with business as I always have. So it'll be easier to find me if you ever need to."

"Then we'd better head out soon." James stood up, "The sooner we fix this, the quicker we can get back to our normal lives."

"Define normal..." Howard said with his head full of doubt, well both of them needed to grow up on their own but deep within he was sure that without him, both of them will get into a lot of trouble. Both of them were like wild horses, and he was the rein keeping them grounded and giving them direction so without him both of them were very likely to run amok. But he couldn't do anything, after all, he had a lot to deal with on his own.

"I like the code name but don't expect an emotional goodbye though!"

"-And that's how the war ended."

Three days later, after sending off Victor, James, and Sameer on their mission the rest of them returned back to London. The traitor was locked inside the basement while Ares remains were safely kept, both for future research.

Artemis was already sure to follow him and Diana too decided to stay with him. According to her, Howard was the single greatest threat alive at the moment so she needed to keep an eye on him. Though she didn't mean it in a bad way, Howard was glad regardless because, at the moment, allies mattered to him the most. And unless he got a little control of his power at least enough to not go insane or berserk him fighting out alone would be reckless.

So having two beautiful swords by his side, he had been living quite well. He had been locked up in his room working on a brand new satellite with much better function and technicality that the previous one until he got a letter. Sneaking out of his own villa without letting anyone know, Howard ended up at the bar where someone was already waiting for him.

"I am glad it all worked out."

"I am glad that you made the right decision, Steve." Howard glanced at the spy, who looked the same as always. the brave guy had been hailed as a martyr by both the American and British intelligence for stopping Ludendorff and Maru and for helping contribute on stopping the war that could've been dragged on for much longer due to their actions.

"Yeah, but seriously a martyr." Steve chuckled drinking,

"Well, the world can't know about a God trying to kill them yet and I needed a good foundation for The Irregulars." Howard said as he demonstrated the topic in a news reporter's voice, "Steve Trevor, a member of The Irregulars, a now private organization helped saved millions of lives and got rid of the threat of a looming never-ending war by sacrificing himself. A true hero and a martyr we will never forget."

"Now it should be just, Steve Trevor, a werewolf or a Lycan." Steve laughed, "I never knew immortality could be this- this boring, I mean you can't even get drunk with normal alcohol."

"That's the sad part, my friend," Howard said, "So have you thought things through?"

"Yes." Steve nodded, "I'll head to Budapest and connect with the other Lycans, I have my story straight so mixing in wouldn't be a big deal. The harder part is to not get hunted by Vampires."

"Correction, both sides are pretty butt fucking insane, so living with the other Lycan's wouldn't be pleasant too. And Silver, they can be a bitch." Howard said, "But just in case, I'd like to apologize to you if you were to die on your very first day."

"Why?"

"You know, you have grown up like a normal human being and now I am shoving you with the responsibility of spying of Lycans and Vampires alongside immortality. A lot of people would kill to have eternal life but believe me, it gets quite sickening after you cross a decade or two." Howard said, "But stay alive. Long enough to enjoy life after all this is over between the Lycans and Vampires."

"Another order? You sure are a tough boss." Steve said, "But it's okay, it was my choice, to begin with, so I'll try my best to see my job done till the end."

"Then I will be working on making you silver resistant till then." Both of them clinked their glasses.

"To hard work and staying alive!"

"To Steve Trevor, the immortal spy!"

Gulping their drinks down, Steve asked, "So what's the Merchant of Death going to do next."

"I have a party to attend to," Howard said, "The end of the war party."

"That's the name?" Steve chuckled, "Who is throwing the party?"

"It's not a person, but a club." Howard said with a strange smile, "The Hellfire Club."

A/N:- The chapter turned out longer than expected but anyway this marks the end of the first volume. I might do some POVs of other characters before I start with the second volume but not sure if I'd do that or not. But do let me know which character POV you want to see...
