The Eternal Sanctum

"A mirror?" she wondered, rubbing the smooth surface with her slender fingers. "What's so special about it? It looks so ordinary." "Just not a plain mirror," replied the grandfather. His gaze distant, his voice was hoarse as he explained. "It'll change your life to the deepest core. Here, since it is your sixteenth birthday, I'll pass it to you as a present." "How will it change anything?" she retorted, tapping the pristine yet dull surface. "You must be joking! Always prancing about how I need to be more vain, so mean!" "You will see in due time," was the reply. You will see in due time. Just how a single, useless mirror will change your life in many ways unexpected by anyone. Grandfather was indeed correct. An Fei could not help but admit it. The mirror had completely changed her life, just as he had said. Only, was she presented hell, or a new life? Because.... ---------------------------------------------- "My dear wife, I particularly enjoyed those soft cries and croons you prepared last night. Husband wants to eat meat again!" A handsome man dressed in black robes patted her on the back, softly whispering into her ear. That handsome appearance combined with his devilish allure, he would torment her night and day without pause, tethered by a tender string of sweetness. Definitely in hell. No doubt about it! - //Hello! This is another project of mine! This one will be incorporating themes of historical, transmigration, romance, and xianxia themes. Hope you enjoy!

Author shamelessly giving their work 5-stars. This is my first time writing a novel. What I am writing is something mainly for me. I want to write something that has everything I want in a novel. It may not be exactly what you want, but I will try to keep everything interesting and make sure there are no plotholes. I want to share my journey with others which are part of the reason I am posting it on Webnovel. The other reason is to keep me motivated. If I have at least 1 person willing to spend their time reading my novel every day, then I can also stay motivated and spare my time to create more chapters every day. My goal is to complete the story. Then I can go back and read through my novel and enjoy a novel that was tailor-made for me HAHA. Hopefully, people can enjoy reading my story as much as I enjoy writing it. I will do my best to upload chapters every day and any feedback you have, I will take them into consideration. Thanks for checking out my novel and I hope you enjoy it. Thanks!!

I'm not really one for in-depth reviews, but I think this novel deserves more attention, so here goes. I’ve read up to chapter 97, and I’ve got to say—this is a very enjoyable novel. It has many elements that the traditional cultivation stories have nowadays, but with a more realistic feel to them, which I find surprisingly refreshing since not many stories have detailed descriptions about strength development and whatnot, so it's honestly a nice aspect about it. The characters are portrayed nicely as they all have their own distinctive backstories and motives, especially the protagonist, Mira. Her backstory and past lives make you feel for her, considering how dark and brutal they are, so be prepared for her aggressive personality when you begin reading, but that’s what’s honestly good about her IMO. Especially her strange but close friendship with Maria, which always cracks me up!😂😂 I’m not picky when it comes to grammar, but I think it's still really good and easy to read, but hey, I’m not that good myself. I guess the only bad side, but this could be counted as my opinion as well, is the lengthy paragraphs, which takes up an entire page and more, but again, it’s my personal preference, so many might not mind it overall. Update stability is good, and hopefully, it stays that way, which I’m guessing will, considering the consistency up until the current chapter.👍 The world background hasn’t been explored that much yet, but it's still enough to give you a feeling of how vast and significant the world is, which is a big plus in these types of novels. Not much else to say, really, since I’m not one for these kind of reviews. So keep up the good work author!😃

Great Novel but I came her to read Mira’s story not Maria’s ever since she came on this journey the story start going downhill for me, I don’t care about her character at all because I didn’t click on this novel for this. The synopsis made me read this and it’s completely different. She’s just getting babysitted by our MC…. Great premise but ruined because of the insertion of the typical female MC companion that follows her on her travels. This cliché is even worse than young masters in my opinion. I don’t know why but the moment we first saw her I knew this would happen but I continued reading expecting for a development of the plot instead of making a useless girl one of the main characters of a story. She has no place here… A couple of grammar errors but is still readable, doesn’t bother me. Author please respond to me, will Maria stay as a main character or will we finally focus on Mira? If yes until when should I read?

Just thought I should write this review to share my thoughts on the book up to where I'm currently at chapter 210 the current latest chapter. The writing quality is quite decent for this site (webnovel) only a couple spelling, punctuation errors here and there throughout the chapter. the update stability is quite good and the chapter length is not bad around 1500-2000 words each chapter. The story development is really what sets this story apart though as it's really quite new, interesting and its not repetitive and relying on a romantic sub-plot to actually give the story some depth, I also like that so far that the story is strictly NO ROMANCE, and that if the author did add romance it would have to be Yuri or the whole plot/story would be ruined due to breaking character design and story development due to how they've written mira's character and her background (strictly hates men and has been toyed with and abused by them her whole like such as raped beaten etc.). I really like how the character design was done such as it hasn't really been done before (kinda crazy and evil but not completely unhinged). the world background is also not bad and it's therefore helping the story development with all that's going on right now in the plot where they're in the secret space/realm. So my biggest concern about this book and would like if it could be clarified by the author is: Will this be kept as Strictly NO ROMANCE or will you add a Yuri romantic sub plot? or will you completely destory the plot and storyline as well as story development and add a man as the romantic love interest because if so I would like you to give a warning so I don't have to watch this amazing story turn into an absolute train wreck and be completely ruined! personally, myself I really hope you keep this story as a NO ROMANCE novel, but if you really want a romantic sub plot you at least keep it as a YURI 1v1 relationship. Yours Truly Avid Reader and Crazy Mira Fan :)

This novel is wonderful. However, it's a pity that my favorite character Maria was almost completely eliminated out of the story for almost 300 chapters. I think this was a wrong decision. It’s good that Mira sometimes think about her, but it’s not enough. For me, she is the second main character and deserves a lot more time (maybe 25-40%), even if she does something separately. In addition, she is a character, who needs significant development and growth. And this cannot be done without devoting time to it. I think that some of the necessary triggers for this have already been laid down. In any case, I like observing Maria much more than others in this story.

Story reviewed preemptively at Chapter 88, will most likely be taken down by myself and redone again when I reach the middle part so know that this might not be exact as of later chapters. I'm doing this now to give the author my take on the story and some (constructive) criticism as it seems like there's only been praises so far, and no one has told them any actual negatives about the story. Before anything else, I'd like to point out the most major thing keeping this story from being a solid 4+ stars, and that is that it suffers quite heavily from the violation of the "show, don't tell" rule. For quite a lot of it, we are told, not shown. For example, in chapter 88 when Maria was fighting our protagonist. "Mira got into range and made a move like she was about to roundhouse kick Maria in the upper thigh. Maria decided now would be a good time to take a swing, but immediately regretted this decision", we are never shown in details what is happening, only told of it. Wording is important in fights, much less the story itself, and so is a good repertoire in vocabulary. It makes it so that you can show better what is happening instead of making it seem like it's being told. It's something required for the reader to be able to empathize with characters and immerse into the story. Which brings me to the second problem of the story, it lacks exactly that. Which, to me makes it feel like the reader is disconnected from the series, unable to empathize with characters and their struggles. The details feel too little at times, and too much at times. Never "just right", we're barely shown facial expressions, emotions. and such at the end of dialogue, it ends with just. There is little gravitas included, and I feel that if these problems were to be fixed, the story would become much more enjoyable than it currently is. Personally saying, I'd advice you take a look at your earlier chapters and remake them a bit, improve them and make edits that will make the story early on more enjoyable before fully focusing on making new chapters. Even if later on it gets much better, people won't be motivated to read that far in if they can't enjoy the first parts of it, no? Anyways, besides those problems the story has been quite enjoyable so far, the pacing is good. Most of the time it's neither too fast nor too slow and there hasn't been any moment so far I felt like there has been no progress and that we are at a standstill. The world is great for something that is Xianxia/Xuanhuan, and there are some nice spins to it that I can really appreciate. The cast of character so far is really nice, and Maria, even if she can at times be unbearable or too generic, gives a much needed source of character interaction and positive atmosphere to the story, and acts as a counterbalance to Mira's character- no matter how much I love her. TLDR; as of ch.88, a great story that is weighted down by the violation of "Show, don't tell", and the lack of repertoire in vocabulary.

This is definitely one of the best cultivation novel on this site. If you like a very independent OP female MC with a fascinating history who kills without hesitation giving "death goddess" vibes and constantly works hard to improve themselves then this is the right novel for you!

Frankly not much to say. (50 chapters) A story with potential but ruined. We have a character who joins the mc who is forced, the person sucks but gradually becomes a genius out of nowhere just with a little practice. As soon as she faces a problem she can't solve it, so she fails but then bounces back each time, boring. The biggest problem is that the mc is supposed to be 100 times stronger but there is no diff and it's always on its lower cultivation. Another very annoying thing is the kilo and km units, they are so exaggerated that it loses all the immersion. Problem in the mc's emotions too (SPOILER: The mc is all happy, then loses his parents and becomes cold and does not smile anymore, not logical it seems that he did not have the life experience of his last lives.) AND last and huge concern we do not see the interest of her last lives... Whether it is in the understanding of the dao of her weapon or just on the dao in general we have the impression that she discovers it while her former life was devoted entirely to learning his scythe and cultivation. I'm only quoting that but there are many other misunderstandings... Not to mention the repeated shots either. If I should say something positive, it's that we don't find the never-ending coincidences that we normally find in this kind of novel. Not that there aren't any, but they aren't too forced. Conclusion: Kill Maria or make her leave. And highlight her former lives more, because in the end they are only reflected in the fact that she has a cultivation method and she has a weapon. I say a lot of negative but if you pass these problems which may not be for certain, it is still a good read to pass the time.

Good novel, i wouldn’t delve deep into the story but the MC is refreshing something new in those seas of stupid novels. The evolution and struggles of the MC and those around her is amazing to say the least the plot isn’t repetitive, the pain and saddnest that accompanies every her decision is reflected onto others not forgotten by the plot, and I love the fact that the characters aren’t circling around the mc withot any self-development. The Mortal Realm world bulding is still vague, other than the continent she in we have no imporant clue about other continents, but the story is fulfilling. The story is starting to get interesting and exciting, I can only wait and fantasize about the battles to come. But the thing I love the most is that the mc race change is something more unique like a fox for example now all the novel I see that have race change are following the routine: human -> dragon or like getting the innate body of chaos or something similar, but this one has finally chosen something unique. The romance and emotions she has closed of for thousands of years aren’t destroying the plot but making it more unique and stable. I recommend reading it
