Wishes

"Oh, no I'm no God."

As I turned to look at him, he was looking at my body, then I turned back to look at my body, we stayed silent for a couple of seconds, I was waiting for him to continue.

"To be a God you will need to be perfect, only a perfect being is deserving of the Title of 'God' but there's no perfect being. There are people that are strong that install fear or other emotions into people and those people will come to be worshiped as Gods, but they are far from being perfect beings, they do however control some of nature's laws, but that's all they can do. So yeah, I'm no God."

"Then what are you doing here?" I asked.

"We are called Destiny Stones, what we do is change destiny itself."

"Doesn't that make you a God, you are able to change Destiny."

"No, we are able to grant wishes to those that are forgotten by fate, as you can see, you were never part of your past world, thus your existence was denied, even in this world you weren't supposed to be here, however, you not being part of the fate of your past world, you came here, tie your soul to a body that had its feted end. Thus, allowing you to live a second life."

As I heard what he said, the memory of the women leaving the baby on the street came into my mind, what I understood is that before the women left the baby, the baby had already died, however due to my soul going into the body, she didn't notice.

"So, if you aren't a God, what are you?"

"We are called Destiny Stones, but we are called differently throughout the planets and eras, some call us systems, others bug, Goldfinger's and many others, we are not bound to the rules of the universe."

"Why me then? You said it, I'm not supposed to even be here, so you should save someone that is from your world."

"like you said, you weren't supposed to be here, yet here you are, it's amazing yet pitiful. However, there's only one of use in every universe, and I'm at my last breath, so the moment you went into the baby, I went with you."

"Why?"

"I don't Know, called it fate…hahaha…ironic isn't it, you were forgotten by fate, however fate brought us together…hahaha."

"So, what now? Do I die, or can you save me?"

"Like I said, we make wishes, so if you wish to be saved, I'll save you, but I'll only be able to grant you a couple of wishes, due to my lack of energy once it depletes, I'll disappear."

As soon as he said that we fell into silence, I didn't know why but it made me feel sad, I guess it was because he was with me since the beginning.

"I'm Sorry."

"You don't need to feel sorry, in a couple of millennia another Destiny Stone will be born, it is a cycle, we are born, we live, we die, and everything again."

"So, tell me what you want."

Once he asked me that I didn't know what to ask for, I could ask for love and family, but I wouldn't know if the love they have for me is genuine or a product of magic, but I thought of Olivia.

"I want to be with Olivia."

Once I finished my sentence, white light shone in front of me, then everything was normal again, I looked around, but nothing had changed, however the embodiment of the Destiny Stone looked dimmer.

"Ok, your fate has been tied to that of her, however I do want to remind you that your existence will have an impact on her life."

"What you mean."

"You will later find out."

"Tell me your second wish."

I turned to look at my dying body and said.

"Can you somehow fix my body?"

Once I finished saying that he looked deeply at me, then smiled and spoke.

"Ok, I'll fix your body."

By this point he was already semitransparent, I count help but feel guilty, thinking that because of me he will cease to exist.

"What's your next wish"

I look at him.

"what about your body?"

He just smiled and said.

"I have lived for a long period of time, I created kings and emperors, I ended empires much greater than your imagination could think of, stars were born because of me, but everything has its end, and mine is with you, you don't need to feel burden by my death, you should think wisely what you would want, I think I will only be able to grant you one more wish."

We again fell into silence, from what he said, I'm guessing that he is looking forward to his end.

Think of what I could ask for, I couldn't help but think of all my favorite characters, the people that made me forget the loneliness I had back then.

Some of them weren't from the good side, they had to live in darkness because they weren't accepted by society, they didn't represent what good look like to the people of their world, society had force them into the wrong path, and they decided to fight back, that probably what would have happened to me if I have had the strength to fight.

But I can't deny the effort the good guys put into their fight against evil, they risked their lives just to protect others, sometimes doing things that they didn't want.

As all of them kept popping on my head, I turned and looked at the almost visible man in front of me.

"Bring them here!"

As if he understood who I was talking about, he kept quiet for a few seconds then said.

"You know that's a big move, right? It will alarm a lot of people, this planet may be a small piece of dust in a corner of the universe, but it doesn't mean it will always be like that, are you sure about that?"

I was fighting my inner demons that kept telling me not to, but at the end my desire to meet them was greater.

"That's ok, that's why they will be here."

We again stood in silence, when all of a sudden, he started laughing.

"Hahahahaha you are right, you are right, they will be here, that's true, let go big at the end, right? And who cares if they look for the one responsible? I'll be gone, right? Hahahaha"

He said that in a loud voice I noticed that his once vanishing image was becoming more solid, I was about to ask about it when he asked.

"You know there's a lot of them, I can't possibly bring all of them here, so choose, who do you want?"

I started to think who I wanted to meet the most, but there were a lot of them, so I looked at him and said.

"Why don't you choose."

He just smiled and said "Ok."

Suddenly a blinding light covered my field of view, this light lasted for more than 5 minutes, way more than the previous 2 times.

"All done, there were some issues, but it will be fun like this."

As he said that, his image started to fade at a quick pace, he smiled at me and said.

"It looks like I have to go, your wishes will have a great impact on this world, so just remember to never regret your decision, this is a goodbye Bruce, I hope you like my present, farewell."

Once he finished saying that he completely disappeared.

Everything started to go the way it was, as my field of view returned to my body, the paint made me frown, as I was laying down, I looked at the sky, there a red dot was fast closing on me, very quickly it became a ball of fire, it looked like a meteorite, next thing I know it landed a few meters from me.

As the impact sent me flying, I started to lose consciousness, but I was able to see some black goo slowly crawling towards me.
