Chapter 119 – The beginning of the Story

Timeline: November 5, 1995

It had been three months since I took Peter Parker under my wing, guiding him on his journey as hero; Red Spider, or as the world know him as Spider-Man Red.

Today was a big day for us as we faced this figure right here: a guy in his forties causing chaos with his electric powers. He called himself Lightning Conductor, a name some might recognize from Iron Man stories. But here and now, it was on us, Peter and me, to stop him.

The scene was one of chaos, with panicked cries filling the air as Lightning Conductor unleashed his power upon the unsuspecting civilians.

"Help! Someone help!"

"Stop! We're agents of S.H.I.E.L.D." shouted one of the officers.

As everyone around us panicked, their screams mixing with the chaos, I turned to Peter to explain our strategy. "Red, here's what we'll do. I'll keep him busy, and you look for a chance to stop him. Got it?"

Peter nodded, his determination evident as he replied, "Roger, Spider-Man."

"Good, Red," I acknowledged, sealing our agreement with a fist bump. "Let's get to work."

Swinging into action, we joined forces with the agents of SHIELD who were already on the scene, coordinating efforts to contain the threat and ensure the safety of the civilians.

As we landed amidst the chaos, one of the agents addressed us. "Spider-Men, you're here."

Addressing the SHIELD agent, I instructed, "Focus on evacuating the citizens. We'll handle Lightning Conductor."

With a nod of understanding, the agents set to work, guiding the frightened bystanders to safety.

As I got closer to Lightning Conductor, I tried to talk some sense into him. "Hey buddy, can we just chill with the whole electric shock thing? You're not exactly winning over any fans with this approach, you know?"

Lightning Conductor just glared at me, crackling with anger. "Spider-Man! You!"

I rolled my eyes. "Yeah, yeah, it's always 'Spider-Man this' and 'Spider-Man that' with you, isn't it?"

Lightning Conductor fired a bolt of lightning in my direction,, but I dodged it by jumping aside. As I dodged, he yelled, "Spider-Man, why do you always have to stick your nose in my love life?"

Ducking and weaving to evade his attack, I continued to engage him in conversation, trying to discern his motives. "Love life? Dude, we're in the middle of a showdown, not a soap opera!"

"You!" Lightning Conductor repeated, his anger palpable.

Ignoring his dramatics, I signaled to Peter. "Alright, Red, it's your moment!"

With a resolute nod, Peter, echoed said, "Okay, Captain." before launching himself toward Lightning Conductor with determination blazing in his eyes.

As Peter lunged towards Lightning Conductor, I noticed a smirk spread across the villain's face. "You think I'll just let myself be beaten?" he taunted. Suddenly, shockwaves emanated from him, causing a surge of electricity that rippled through the area, catching us off guard.

I watched in concern as Peter was flew backward by the force of the blast. Rushing to his side, I checked on his condition.

"Red!" I exclaimed, rushing to Peter's side as he was thrown back by the force of the blast.

"Are you okay?" I asked, relief evident in my voice as I rushed to Peter's side.

Peter rubbed his head, a grin spreading across his face. "Yeah, just got a shocking surprise, you know, the usual Monday stuff," he joked, and continued said. "But hey, luckily I didn't become a barbecue! Still in one piece, so let's zap outta here and catch that lightning loony!"

I nodded then I scanned the area, and Lightning Conductor was nowhere to be seen. "Tsk, he escaped," I muttered, frustration evident in my tone. Then, focusing my chi sense, I detected a faint energy signature. "Red, let's go. I sense his chil." I said to Peter, determination fueling my words.

With a nod of determination, Peter affirmed, "Aye Aye, Captain Spider."

With our determination renewed, Peter and I swiftly swung into action, following the trail of Lightning Conductor's chi signature.

As we got closer to where the chi was coming from, it felt tense, but Peter seemed pretty chill. "So, any idea how we're going to take down this guy once we find him?" he asked, looking around for any hints of the bad guy.

"Hmm, that guy can imitate lightning, so it's kind of a pain in the ass since we don't know what he might do," I explained to Peter as we swung through the city. Then, I looked at him and added, "After all, it's not easy to hold back and subdue him."

Peter nodded, his expression determined. "Yeah, but that's what makes us heroes, right?"

"You're damn right, Red," I replied, giving him an approving nod. Just then, I spotted Lightning Conductor ahead and quickly relayed the plan to Peter. "Red, he's over there. Our plan this time is for me to shoot my web at him. I know he'll use his lightning on it, which will electrocute me, but..." I paused, locking eyes with Peter. "That's your opportunity to knock him out, okay? Are we clear?"

"Crystal clear, Captain," Peter replied with a nod, his eyes gleaming with determination. "So basically, you're the bait, and I'm the punchline. Got it!"

I chuckled at his quip, appreciating his lighthearted approach even in the face of danger. "Exactly, Red. Just make sure you deliver the knockout punch with some flair!"

Peter grinned. "Flair? Oh, I've got flair for days, Captain!"

With our plan in place, we sprang into action. As we approached Lightning Conductor, you could feel the tension crackling in the air. Peter's calm attitude rubbed off on me, though, and I started to feel a bit more relaxed.

As we lunged towards Lightning Conductor, we found him in the midst of a rather awkward attempt at impressing a girl.

Lightning Conductor tried to impress a girl by shooting electricity from his hands. He said, "Want to have fun with me?" while winking at her. But things went wrong when the electricity caused a nearby car to explode. The girl got scared and called him a creep.

Stepping forward, I couldn't help but offer some advice. "See? You're making the girl uncomfortable. Maybe you should brush up on your romantic skills. It's just not your forte."

"Shut up!!" Lightning Conductor snapped, launching another surge of electricity in my direction. I deftly evaded, countering with a web shot.

But as my web closed in on him, he grabbed hold and infused it with electricity, causing it to shock me upon contact. Though it hurt, I managed to withstand it thanks to my Frozen Resilience. "Aurg!" I grunted, feeling the jolt surge through me before smirking. "Now, Red!"

Peter wasted no time, seizing the opportunity to swoop in and deliver a decisive blow.

[Meanwhile Peter Parker Pov]

As Michael braced himself against the electric shock coursing through his web, I seized the opportunity to spring into action. With a confident grin, I launched myself towards Lightning Conductor, aiming for a knockout blow.

"Hey, Mr. Electric! Looks like you're about to be... unplugged!" I quipped, delivering a punch with all the flair I could muster.

But just as my fist was about to connect, Lightning Conductor countered with a surge of electricity, sending me flying backward. "Whoa, What the sh---t" I exclaimed, doing my best to roll with the unexpected setback.

As I landed with a thud, Michael called out, "Are you okay, Red?"

"Yep, just recharging my batteries!" I replied with a grin, pushing myself back up. "Let's finish this, Captain Spider!"

With renewed determination, I sprang back into action, ready to take down Lightning Conductor once and for all.

With a nod of agreement, Michael and I launched ourselves into the fray, our teamwork stronger than ever.

Following Michael's lead, I positioned myself on the right as he took the left flank. With impressive speed and agility, he swiftly maneuvered around Lightning Conductor's attacks, webbing him up in no time.

Lightning Conductor cursed furiously as he struggled against the webbing, but it was too late. "Now, Red!" Michael called out.

With a nod, I seized the moment, delivering a powerful punch straight to Lightning Conductor's face. The impact sent him crashing to the ground, unconscious and defeated.

As we stood victorious over our fallen foe, Michael and I exchanged a satisfied grin. Another job well done for Spider-Man and Spider-Man Red.

[Meanwhile]

As Director Loe Halloway prepared to take a brief break from his duties at SHIELD, his son Thomas stood by, ready to step into his father's shoes for the day.

"Father, so I'm going to fill your place tomorrow?" Thomas inquired, a hint of excitement in his voice.

Loe smiled warmly at his son. "That's right, son. Just for tomorrow. My friends and I have some plans for dinner and a bit of fun."

Thomas, curious, asked, "Who's these friend, father?"

Chuckling, Loe replied, "Oh, you know, my old friends. Michael, and a few others , Mark, Chris, Emily and Mary. It's been a while since we've all had a chance to relax together."

Thomas nodded, understanding, pleased to see his father looking forward to the break. He said "Sounds like it'll be a good time."

Loe nodded in agreement. "Indeed. Now, I trust you'll hold down the fort Tommorow while I'm away?"

Thomas reassured his father, "You can count on me, father. I've got everything under control."

...........

[Meanwhile Mark side]

Mark Taylor and Emily Hawkins, known by their aliases The Nightwing and The Lady Vamp, had just finished their vigilantism against the vampires.

Mark Taylor, donned in his Nightwing attire, turned to the Shield officers, his stance confident yet relaxed. "I leave this to you, officers."

With a nod of assurance, the Shield officer responded, "We've got this under control, Nightwing."

"Good," Mark acknowledged, his attention shifting to Emily Hawkins, his partner and love of his life, who stood nearby in her Lady Vamp attire. "Let's go. We need to prepare our clothes for tomorrow."

Emily smiled warmly, her eyes reflecting both determination and affection. "Yes, darling." she replied, falling into step beside him as they made their way towards their next destination.

.........

[Meanwhile Chris Hilton Side]

Chris Hilton, seated in his office at Hilton Company, was accompanied by his 35-year-old son, Lucas Hilton. Despite his 63 years, Chris appeared much younger, thanks to the serum he had been using alongside Loe.

Lucas addressed his father, "Father, do you want me to handle the company as the temporary CEO?"

Chris replied, "Yes, indeed. My friends and I have an appointment—a one-day reunion. We've all been so busy lately, and we need some bonding time."

Understanding his father's need for a break, Lucas nodded. "Alright, Father. I'll take care of things here. But what about meeting someone special during your vacation? It's been a while since Mother passed away, and I already have a son and daughter. You shouldn't be alone."

Chris chuckled, shaking his head at his son's teasing. "Stop teasing your old man. Let me handle my love life. Now, let's change the topic. Get ready for tomorrow, because you'll be acting as CEO."

"I've got this, Father, and besides, it's only for a day." Lucas grinned confidently.

[Meanwhile Michael Pov]

After our victory over Lightning Conductor, Peter and I found ourselves alone on a rooftop, the cityscape stretching out before us.

Peter broke the silence. "Mike, what's our agenda for tomorrow?"

Summoning my resolve, I looked into his eyes and began, "Pete, there's something I need to tell you."

His expression turned wary, sensing the gravity of the conversation. "What is it, Mike? I have a bad feeling about this." he said, his concern is showing.

Taking a deep breath, I explained, "I won't be suiting up as Spider-Man tomorrow. I've made plans to spend time with some old friends."

Peter's response was immediate, his worry evident. "So, I'll be on my own tomorrow?" he asked, his voice tinged with uncertainty.

"Yes, but just for tomorrow," I reassured him. "You're more than capable, Peter. You've proven yourself time and time again."

His doubt lingered, reflecting on past mistakes. "But I've messed up back then." he admitted, his self-doubt surfacing.

I gave him a comforting smile and a light pat on the shoulder. "Hey, don't be too tough on yourself," I said, my voice calm but firm. "Sure, you had some rough time but think about all the times you've managed to overcome them."

I watched as a flicker of realization crossed Peter's face, a glimmer of newfound confidence taking root within him. "You really think so?" he asked, his voice tinged with hope.

"Absolutely," I replied without hesitation, offering him an encouraging nod. "I have every confidence in you, Pete. You have what it takes to handle whatever comes your way, solo or not."

Peter nodded earnestly. "Thanks Mike and also you deserve a break, Men. Have fun tomorrow. Don't worry, I'll hold down the fort and keep the city safe while you're away."

I smiled gratefully at Peter. "Thanks, Pete. Oh, and by the way, you'll be the temporary Spider-Man, not Spider-Man Red," I clarified with a chuckle. "See you the day after tomorrow, the one and only Spider-Man!" I grinned, feeling confident in leaving the city in Peter's capable hands.

[Meanwhile Norman Osborn]

In his hidden base within his mansion, Norman Osborn battled silently. A menacing mask whispered to him, its dark promises echoing in his mind.

"Just let me in, Norman." the mask urged, its voice a sinister whisper.

Norman's resolve wavered as he fought against the insidious influence. "Enough!" he growled, his voice tinged with frustration.

But the mask persisted, its words like sneaky snakes slithering into his mind. "You want power, Norman. I can give it to you." it whispered.

"I won't let you use me!" Norman retorted, his voice strained with defiance.

The mask chuckled, a chilling sound that echoed through the room. "Your predecessors all succumbed to my influence, and you are no different." it taunted, its words dripping with malice.

And with that ominous exchange, the stage was set for the beginning of the Green Goblin Arc.
