Announcement

This is an early Easter present for my readers. I normally don't write on the weekends, so I have decided to release this chapter early. I didn't want to leave my readers hanging on Easter, and this will be the last chapter of Marina's back story.

After Marina fell into the sea

What Prince Jacob had seen next, stunned him. Marina had appeared to be engulfed in sea foam, before disappearing completely. Jacob had shouted for help, before tying a rope around his waist and jumping in after her.

No matter how hard he looked he just couldn't find her.

Neptune in tears, "My daughter, she's gone. You humans have gone too far, you are all gonna pay for this."

The Sea became unsteady due to Neptune's rage.

Nereid embraced Neptune before saying. "Hubby. Marina would not want this. She even gave her life so that human could live.. And look at him, he doesn't even know what's going on, and he jumped in after her. Risking his own life for Marina.. He isn't a bad human."

Neptune still furious, accepts his wife's advice saying. "You are right honey, but I cannot just forget what has happened... From now on, no mermen shall have anything to do with humans."

Meanwhile no one is able to see that Marina had ascended into the sky as a Wind Spirit.

Marina is joined by other Wind Spirits, who explain her situation to her.

"Hello young one, we are fellow daughters of the wind."

"You have been spared the fate of eternal death, thanks to your selfless act."

"You will also be given a chance to earn a soul and go to Heaven, if you can help humanity for 300 years."

At Jacob's Palace, after the wedding

Jacob distraught by what had happened to his friend, rushed into Marina's room. Hoping to find something that would make sense out of what had happened. He ripped her room apart, not finding anything. He then spots the desk, the very same desk he had spent many days teaching Marina at.

He then sat in the chair and slumped over the desk. Thinking back to the times he had spent with her, he opened a drawer hoping to find some of her writings to remember her by. What he found was a letter with a heart drawn on it.

Seeing this, it felt as if an arrow had gone through his heart. After opening it, he began to read it, and what he read made him break out into tears. He had found out that he had made the biggest mistake of his life, and that because of his own incompetence. The love of his life had perished never to be seen again.

Jacob had fallen into a deep depression, which had lasted his whole life. However, he was a studious and righteous man. Despite his depression he took responsibility for his mistake by being the best husband, father and King he could be.

Marina had spent the next 295 years being as helpful to humanity as she could be. Then the end of the world had begun, Demons were popping up everywhere. The dead were walking the earth, with their souls being corrupted by dark magic. Famine, war and death were everywhere to be seen. Marina was distraught by all that was happening to the world.

Two years had gone by sincethe Apocalypse had begun, and Marina was just about to give up hope when she was visited by a Lesser Angel.

Lesser Angel, "Marina. I have been sent by the lord of all creation, to give you a message.. The hope of the entire world will be arriving soon.. The Creator wants you to help the one who will arrive."

Marina still not able to speak, thought. 'So all hope is not lost? The creator hasn't given up on this world? Wait how will I know where to go, to be of help?'

Lesser Angel, "There will be a sign of the Savor's arrival.. If you follow that sign, you will find him."

It didn't take more than a day, before a miraculous event took place. Coming from the island nation of Albion, a great light filled with an Angel's choir turned night into day. Marina knew this was the sign of the Savor's arrival.

She used Instant Travel to arrive in a vault filled with gold. What she saw surprised her. She saw a knight and a young Prince.

She couldn't believe her eyes, the young Prince looked identical to Prince Jacob. The only difference between this Prince and Jacob, was the fact that this Prince was a few years younger.

What happened next was somewhat comical, but had told her that it was the Prince, that was the Savor sent by the Creator. She had seen the Prince bless and store all the gold in the vault.

She had then followed Christopher to the "dead end" at the end of a passageway, and was thrown off by Christopher introducing himself to her. as not even her own father had seen her after becoming a spirit.

She was not expecting that since if her own father, Neptune the god of the seas and earthquakes, couldn't see her. How could a human, even if the human had been sent by the Creator himself.

She stumbled about, before remembering she couldn't speak. The Prince had said he couldn't hear spirits, so that had eased her embarrassment. She then tried to show him that there was an underwater passage behind the wall.

The Prince caught on instantly, and ordered his Knight to break through the wall. Leading her to quickly cast Under Water Breathing on them.

After they had left the well at the end of the passage, she had thought her job was done. However even though the young Prince could no longer see her, he still invited her to join their journey.

She was so excited to have the chance to be with people again, that she instantly agreed. Though no one but her knew this.
