Living in the forest part 1

A couple of months went by where I would leave my cave and explore the outer parts of the forest. each and every day I would spend subduing beast under the 100 year mark and taking their spirit energy. Sometimes I would stumble upon the same horde and see some of their numbers dwindle. I am assuming that this is a result of being hunted while they were in their weakened state so I took that into consideration and only drained a couple of their ranks so as to leave them protected by the ones I didn't leach energy from.

While the number of beasts I took energy from reduced so as not to weaken the population to the point of extinction, my cultivation speed skyrocketed. I had not used up any of the vital spirit energy from the orb since that first night where I used the energy to supplement my eyes. since none of that energy was being used it kept accumulating and condensing to form a richer and more potent source of spirit energy. Cultivation in my inner world quickly lead to me reaching level 20 and being in need of a spirit ring.

Seeing the speed at which I was cultivating skyrocket under the influence of the orb of vitality, which I had named the ball of energy that was a result of the numerous times I siphoned energy from a spirit beast, I decided that I would continue in this fashion so as to assure myself that my cultivation had a solid foundation.

The fact that it took me a couple of months to fully consolidate my base of cultivation under the influence of the orb of vitality is what clued me in on having to find a more permanent residence in the forest.

Having a super secret layer hidden deep in the woods where no one would find me quickly lead my mind in one direction. that's right I was going to make myself an underground training field with an artificial sky like Urahara Kisuke. Luckily for me Yoruichi was the person who helped kisuke build it the first time around in Soul Society so the kido used where buried within her memories. If I was going to have enough spirit energy to accomplish this task then I would have to use the orb of vitality to quickly assend through the ranks.

It took me no more than 10 minutes to find a spirit beast and slay it to grant me the ability to continue cultivating. The age of the ring did not matter as I could quickly support its growth using the orb of vitality once it was time to choose which abilities I would like.

Once the spirit ring was integrated I was able to feel my cultivation skyrocket a second time and reach the 24th rank. When my spirit energy settled I made my way back to home base where I sat down on my forest green sleeping mat and entered my inner world. I quickly made my way over to the shiny blue orb that was saturated with vitality gained through the spirit essence I siphoned from all the spirit beast this past few months.

Once I was standing in front of the orb I directed a tendril of energy to make its way over and envelope my whole body. After a couple of minutes my cultivation skyrocketed once more as the vitality saturated each and every cell on my body. My mind soon fell into a comfortable sleep as my body slowly used the energy to cleanse my meridians of any impurities. This act ensured that my future cultivation would meet no opposition and cycling spirit energy throughout my body would become smoother than it was before.

After a full day of bathing in the vital energy of the orb I awoke to find a layer of impurities over my smooth delicate skin.

A quick bath in the nearby lake took care of that problem. Once I was back at a hundred percent and my mind exited that comfortable daze it had fallen into I was able to inspect my body. my strength took a qualitative leap and the energy within my meridians became richer and more potent than it was before. I am assuming that due to the rich and potent source of energy that accumulated in the orb of vitality my cultivation became more solid. Rather than just progressing through the ranks the energy slowly consolidated each level of my cultivation to the peak before moving forth and helping me advance to the pinnacle of level 30 so that I not only advanced quickly but I also took a qualitative step forward in my cultivation rather than just a quantitative one.

A quick look at my inner world confirmed my suspicion. The orb lost about a fifth of the accumulated energy. Seeing as how bathing in the orbs energy made it so that all my cultivation levels were rebuilt from the ground up it was no surprise that so much energy was used up. Consolidating 30 levels to the peak in quality would have used up more energy than just adding 6 levels of the same quality that I had before.

The fact that my spirit energy took on a more potent change could be seen in the water in my inner world. It used to look like a misty gaseous conglomeration of spirit energy but now it looked like a crystal clear ocean. I could now see the true depth of my spirit sea and all the orbs of light that store my memories and the memories of my predecessors were more readily available.

Now that all 30 ranks were consolidated I know that the next time I saturate my body and reserves with the orb of vitality it will only cause a qualitative change to the levels i have yet to cultivate.

I made my way back into the woods to aquire my third spirit ring before heading back to the cave to cultivate once more. once I reached the pinnacle of rank 40 I'm sure I would have more than enough spirit energy to replicate kisukes underground training field.
