accumulating power part 2

after confirming that all the ugly little beasts where down I quickly made my way down the tree. with a little hop of my beautiful feet and with a soft hum of air signaling my landing I was directly behind the horde. If anyone where to ever say I landed with a thud I would skin them alive, no that would get my beautiful fingers dirty. I would hog tie them and beat them with a piñata stick for insinuating that this personification of perfection was fat.

the poison i coated my senbon in were meant to incapacitate them not kill so with a quick flick of my asauchi i killed the ugliest of the beast and was rewarded with the hum signifying the release of a spirit ring. A 50 year spirit ring quickly condensed in front of me.

I stood in place and opened up my asauchi to take in the spirit ring and within a couple of minutes the spirit ring was assimilated.

I took a deep breath and quickly threw my consciousness into my inner world. others might refer to this as a soul sea but due to all the memories that accompanied me due to byakuya and Yoruichi I was unable to refer to it as anything other than the inner world that I shared with my asauchi.

in front of me was a world filled with twinkling stars as though the heavens decided to sprinkle shimmering gold over the sky above. I was standing over the surface of a vast body of water that spread as far as the eye could see. if one where to dive into the water they would encounter a vast number of floating balls of light in which my memories and the memories of my predecessors reside. at the center of my inner world was a floating 50 year old spirit ring with a blank rectangular space hovering just below it.

with a tap of that button I could see countless abilities that I could pick to insert as the spirit ability of the ring but a majority were a dull gray. I am assuming that the more power the ring has the more powerful an ability i will be able to aquire. right now the only thing I could choose would be a low level kido or an E-ranked jutsu.

I quickly exited my inner world and looked upon the countless beast just sitting there waiting to become my suppliers of spirit energy. slowly I approached the nearest beast and began to siphone its spirit essence into my inner world. after a short while a small floating orb of energy was suspended in my inner world. from there I would be able to choose whether to supplement my eyes, my body and its reserves, or the age of my spirit ring. Deciding that I could worry about which option to pick later I siphoned as much spirit essence from all the unconscious beasts into the floating orb first. One by one I made my way through the horde. I took enough energy to make them feel weak for a couple of days, but once that moment of weakness passed they would be fine as if nothing had ever happened.

I chose to siphone the energy slowly instead of killing all the beasts and taking in the spirit energy from the spirit ring in a matter of seconds because I did not want to go on a masacre and shorten the already dwindling population of spirit beasts even more than it already was. after finishing off all the beasts and removing all the senbon i quickly made my way to the tree tops and went in search of the next horde of beasts.

the next horde I encounter were ugly little garlick monsters. since I already had a ring and did not need to kill until I was at level 20 I quickly took out the senbon and prepared to spend the next two hours repeating the process I did with the group before.

with each beast whose energy I siphoned the ball of spirit energy in my inner world would expand to a certain point before condensing into a more potent source. slowly but surely that ball of energy was getting bigger and richer until I could literally feel the vitality from it even without having to cast my consciousness into my inner world. after finishing off these beasts I made my way to find the last group of the day.

once I had finished off the third horde I knew that I needed to find a secluded location to cultivate because in about an hour and a half the sun will set and I will have to spend the rest of the night looking over my shoulder for any sneak attack these beasts might attempt.

I made my way towards the East where I had seen a couple of caves during my trip earlier. Within a couple of minutes using shunpo I was directly in front of the biggest cave on the cliff wall. Using my spiritual sensing I was able to confirm that the cave was empty. Walking in I could feel the dampness on the walls. The humidity in the air was a clear indicator that water had gotten into the cave from the last time it rained. with a quick kido I was able to evaporate all the moisture in the cave. Once the cave was nice and dry I cast a kido barrier to hide the entrance and stop water from getting in.

with a couple more kidos to provide light I took out the sleeping mat from my backpack and laid it on the now clean ground. I sat down on the forest green material and quickly entered my inner world. the vitality coming off the big ball of energy that was suspended in mid air was very comfortable. if I were to cultivate near the big mass of vitality i could tell that my cultivation speed would skyrocket and within a couple of days i would reach rank 20 or I could use the energy to supplement my body directly and have a breakthrough within seconds but then i would lose some of the energy in the floating orb and i would need to repeat today's process over again.

while breaking through would be nice I had already made up my mind on what I was going to do with all this energy.

with a quick mental comand a tendrall of energy left the floating orb and directly connected with my eyes. slowly the energy was used to supplement their growth and little by little the ability of my eyes to perceive the world around me grew be leaps and bounds. the range of the 360° vision grew from one meter to two meters until all the energy was used up and I could see 100 meters in all directions with perfect clarity. once the floating orb had been diminished to the size of a marble I stopped siphoning the energy into my dojutsu and took out a blanket ready to sleep for the night.
