Indigo League

Leaf and Death managed to get through registration for the Indigo League before the first of the fans swarmed over to them "You're Velvet, right? My gosh, you're so pretty" a young blond girl complimented her excitedly, she had short hair and dressed a bit tomboyish, but Death could still tell she was a girl "Wow, those ears look so real." she had a profound sense of awe as she looked at her rabbit ears.

Velvet blushed and seemed genuinely embarrassed by the compliment, and her rabbit ears drooped in response. Seeing her ears droop, the young girl squealed in delight.

"My name is Amarillo del Bosque Verde, but everyone calls me Yellow." the tomboyish girl, who he guessed was 15 years old, introduced herself. Death nodded sagely, having correctly guessed her identity. Unlike many of the other characters that were older and more mature then they looked in the anime or manga, Yellow looked identical to her character from the story.

"Velvet Scarlatina." Velvet answered timidly.

"Wow, you seem to be just like your character in the show even in real life." Yellow commented, then looked at her companions.

"My name is Death Rose, and my companions are Rui Mirei from Sinnoh, Leaf Verdant from Kanto, Serena Gābena from Kalos, and Valerie Maché of Johto." he introduced himself and the other girls in turn.

"Wow, you're from all over." Yellow answered with surprise.

Their chat was interrupted by a young man getting down on one knee near Velvet and grasping her hand out of nowhere "Marry me." he blurted.

"I'm already married." Velvet insisted, pulling back her hand from the man.

Death frowned at the man, not happy with him for proposing to his wife. This wasn't Brock, surprisingly, but some nobody he had no recollection of appearing in the Pokemon series at all. He was wearing fake rabbit ears, and appeared to be one of the fans that became obsessed with Velvet now that she had appeared in the show, and he looked devastated to hear that she was already married.

Many more excited people swarmed them to talk to Velvet, and their group struggled to gradually make it through the crowd and out of the Registration Building to head out to the site of the tournament. Eventually they made it and got away from the crowd as they entered a hotel next to the tournament, so that when it started they wouldn't have to walk far each day of the tournament.

As they approached the hotel check-in, a familiar trio was there ahead of them.

"Pika-pii" Pikachu called out from Ash's shoulder when he spotted their approach.

Ash, Brock and Misty turned towards them and Death noticed Misty react when she saw him by gaining a hint of a blush on her cheeks. He chuckled in amusement "So you made it to the Pokémon League. That's good."

"Death. It's good to see you again." Ash answered and then looked at Rui "Looks like you picked up a new friend since we last met you."

"This is Rui Mirei. I met her in the Orre region, I visited there while waiting for the Pokémon League to begin." Death explained to Ash "Orre is mostly a desert region, possessing only a few cities, no Pokémon League and only one Pokémon Gym where people can challenge, but there is no gym badges and Pokémon are very scarce there. You wouldn't like it."

"Then why did you spend time there?" Ash asked with confusion.

"There were a couple evil organizations there called Team Snagem and Cypher. I decided to use my down time to apprehend those criminals and deal with their monstrous acts." Death insisted "I chose to challenge Kanto's Pokémon League first because I wanted to wipe out Team Rocket, which I accomplished by the way. And by going there I got to meet Rui, so I have no regrets." he smiled at Rui.

Rui blushed under Death's gaze and couldn't make eye contact with him.

Death noticed Misty briefly having a look of jealousy when she realized that Rui was another woman in his life, but it was only for a moment before she was able to compose herself.

"It's nice to see you again, Death" Misty said with a forced smile.

Death nodded to Misty "It's always a pleasure to meet you as well." he was actually sincere when he said it, though. In the anime, he hadn't really cared much for Misty, but she wasn't the same as in the anime, and he actually found this Misty to be quite a bit interesting to be around.

Death stepped up to the counter, since Ash and his companions already had their room key "Ma'am. Reservation under the name Death Rose."

"The Royal Suite." the girl behind the counter said with surprise, obviously not expecting someone as young as him to have that suite.

Death guessed it was because he looked young, but when she spotted Velvet she seemed less surprised, likely recognizing her and assuming he had made the reservation on her behalf. He was not going to correct her assumption though, and accepted the key as she offered it.

Since they had been journeying the last week and a half, Misty, Brock and Ash hadn't been able to watch the latest two episodes of RWBY, so when they got up to their room they accessed the computer there and watched them.

The first of the two hour long episodes was Jaundice Part 1, and even possessing extra that wasn't in the cartoon with an assist from his system, especially focusing on things from Velvet's perspective. The Second was Jaundice Part 2, and was likewise extended to by a full 48 minutes (one hour after commercial breaks were included), and had a bit more Velvet at the start but then shifted focus back to Team JNPR, and Jaune in particular.

She, of course, recognized Velvet as the girl with rabbit ears that had been with Death as well. Misty found herself wondering if Velvet was also one of Death's lovers.

The next morning the preliminary rounds started with Ash's first match in the water arena, Death's first match was in the Grass Arena, Leaf's was on the Rock Arena, and Gary's match was on the Ice Arena. The four won their matches, with each of them easily dominating against their first four Pokémon.

After all four of the Preliminary matches, Ash's first opponent was still Ritchie, but Ash actually did not lose this time. Firstly, since Ash was a much more competent this time around, so his Charizard actually respected him and did not ignore him, so his victory was obvious once Charizard appeared on the field for the first time.

This concluded the 3 vs 3 rounds, and put Ash into the top eight with Death, Leaf, and Gary who also won their matches.

Ash, however, had exposed a lot of hidden cards while Death had not even shown Genesis, Revelation, or Tsunami (The Suicune) in his first five battles that were three vs three.

Ash, Gary and Leaf both dueled random Pokémon trainers while Death was set to battle someone he was familiar with. It was none other then the Poison-type trainer, and daughter of the Fuschia City Gym Leader Koga, Janine.

Janine was no joke as a trainer, and was the first to give Death a challenge, using Crobat, Drapion, Tentacruel, Roserade, Toxicroak, and Gliscor.

Death, who had used weaking Pokemon before, used Zephyr, his Dragonite, then his Tyranitar, Khione the Aurorus, then Rasu the Charizard, and he publicly revealed Mega Charizard X for the first time and took down Gliscor, which seemed to be Janine's strongest Pokémon, ending her advance through the Pokémon League.

They had another night off before the top four, with Ash being paired off against Death and Gary against Leaf.

Death battled Ash first, with Ash revealing his team over the course of the battle. Venusaur, Blastoise, and Charizard had already been revealed, but Ash also revealed the Dragonair that had evolved from a Dratini that Death had given to Ash to train along with his own Gengar and Pikachu.

Dragonair and Gengar had not appeared previously in the tournament, since he had swept his previous opponent in the six vs six with just Venusaur, Blastoise, and Charizard.

Death had lead with Tyranitar, then Dragonite, and these two swept Ash's first four Pokémon, with Gengar knocking out Dragonite right after it came out. Death then chose to disregard type advantage and sent out Revelation, and Mega Evolved it into Mega Mewtwo Y with the Megastone his system gave to him after defeating the one and only gym in Orre.

After overcoming type disadvantage and beating Ash's Gengar, Revelation also beat Ash's Pikachu and moved on to the finals, to battle Leaf after a couple hours rest, as she had bested Gary in her battle against him.

The reveal of Mega Mewtwo Y shocked a lot of people, but he simply did not explain at all.

Ash was actually quite the amazing Pokémon trainer, but still was not a match for Death.

Death knew that he was at an advantage against Leaf as she only had 6 Pokémon and he knew all of them, so he decided not to use Revelation of Rasu in that battle. Instead he decided to use Mega Gengar, his shiny Umbreon, his Shiny Clefable, his Tyrantrum, his Lucario, and Genesis, his Shiny Mew.

Leaf had Saur, her Mega Venusaur, Nidory, her Nidoking, Wiggly, her Wigglytuff, her Greninja, her Clefable and Tsunami the Suicune that he entrusted to her (hence why he never used it himself).

This final battle proved to be the most epic of the whole tournament. No one expected Leaf to stand a chance against Death, but it ended up going back and forth, finally ending in a brawl between Genesis and Tsunami.

Death managed to win in the end, but Leaf really made him and Genesis work very hard for it.
