Chapter 3

'Adventures of Violet Potter the Girl Who Lived!'

It seems like Harry Potter did not exist in this universe. Or he did and this was some sort of 'wrong child who lived' universe where he would come with dark magic under his command and start destroying anything or anyone for imagined slights while bitching about his parents 'abandoning' him while somehow ending up with all the girls which somehow included his sister even while being a whiny bitch who hurt others to satisfy his ego that was definitely compensating with its sheer size.

Dear Presence's mysterious ways and Lucifer's piano bar, I hope that I wasn't in a lousy fanfiction world like that.

"I see that the book has gotten your interest." Mcgonagall's voice took me out of my thoughts and I looked up to the magical teacher who had a sad look in her eyes. Though I felt like she wasn't looking at me specifically but at something only she could see at the moment.

"We can buy it if you want but you should take anything you read in that book with a grain of salt. It has no truth in it." Mcgonagall said and I put the book back before turning to her.

"What do they mean by, the girl who lived?" I asked because I needed to have an excuse to know these things.

Though it seems like I have somewhat upset red Mcgonagall as her shoulders dropped and then she took me to what was basically a cafe, but magical.

"This… isn't a story that I like to tell but now that you are entering our world, you too must learn it." Mcgonagall said with a somber tone.

"Years ago, our country did not have the peace we enjoy today. Instead we had the looming threat of a Wizard who decided to… go bad. So bad that even today people are not willing to speak his name. Instead we call him 'You Know Who' or 'He Who Must Not Be Named'." She said as she took a sip from the tea cup in front of her.

"His acts were terrible beyond understanding. We have lost many friends and families to his wand until ten years ago when he tried to go after one particular family. The Potters." She said before sniffing, her eyes were tearing up.

"I am sorry it's just… I knew the family well and even today their loss is one that effects me deeply." Mcgonagall said as she used her wand to conjure a tissue out of the thin air and used it to swipe her tears off.

"Where was I… oh yes, he turned his wand upon Potters and killed both parents, Lily and James Potter. But when he tried to do the same to their young daughter, Violet, he somehow failed. No one knows exactly what happened but somehow a curse that kills without question and have never failed in all history… failed. The curse backfired on the dark lord and destroyed him, leaving only a lightning bolt shaped scar on the girl's forehead. That is why we call Violet Potter, the girl who lived. In a way she is a symbol of hope to our people." Mcgonagall said as she finished her tea.

Through all of her talk I had to wonder how exactly things ended up like this. I never bought into the 'love protection' shit they used in the books since if it was that easy there would be many more children who survived curses that never left survivors. So the most likely thing that happened was that Lily Potter had used a ritual with her death as the catalyst in order to protect her child but there was one thing that truly bothered me.

This was no just Harry Potter. So why didn't the magical heroes help the wizards out?

Sure if we went by the timeline Giovanni Zatanna wasn't exactly a hero yet since he was just a showman who used stage magic as I had found out but Kent Nelson, aka Dr Fate, should be still around since the Justice Society was a thing in this world. So why didn't they help?

I had a half mind to ask but if these people knew of heroes and the heroes really didn't help then it probably would be an awkward question with less than a pleasant answer and honestly… I did not want to deal with that kind of drama today.

"I think I have bored you enough with history today mister Richards." Mcgonagall smiled at me sadly and then we went back to the orphanage.

The time until the start of the Hogwarts passed within the blink of an eye. Most the time was sperrt on reading the books of the lessons and I think it would have been a lot harder if I didn't have Hyperstorm's genius.

It still took quite a bit of time and I was still reading while sitting in the Hogwarts Express.

For some reason being inside the iconic red train was somewhat exciting. No idea why.

After all I had memories of fighting against the most racist villains and destroying them with Omega Level powers so the train should be irrelevant and boring at best. But it wasn't.

Before I could question the non boringness of the train more, the door to my compartment was opened.

I had to stop myself from staring because the girl who entered the compartment looked too young to start Hogwarts. No… not too young, too small. I could see it now, even her clothes looked a size too big for her frame as her shirt dangled loosely from her shoulders.

She had short messy black hair that barely reached her shoulders along with green eyes hidden behind thick glasses. Even without looking at her forehead I knew who she was.

"I'm sorry, can I sit here?" Her voice was shy and slightly trembling, almost as if she was afraid to talk.

Violet Potter was in my compartment.
