Concert

Reaching the dinning room, Tommy sat on the chair across from Edward and beside Casey. His focus directed at the pancakes decorated on the table.

"Tommy, are you ok? I heard the big news..." Edward started in an awkward tone and Riele turned to Tommy, but then...

She stared at Casey.

"I filed an FIR yesterday... Shouldn't we cancel it?"

Casey shrugged, pancakes already stuffed into his mouth.

After three minutes of chewing and swallowing, Casey replied. "I already did..."

Pausing for a while, he added.

"The police also demanded his attention by 4pm today."

Tommy immediately giggled saying. "They still think that I'd be kidnapped again."

The dinner room fell into a complete silence for ten long seconds before Riele broke the stalemate by raising her tablet and looking into the screen. Her jade green eyes ignited by the lighting screen.

"Hey, Wittney White is showing up in school today!"

Her voice was laced with surprise and Tommy froze.

"Wittney White? The popular singer? I heard one of his concert broke the ten thousand rap song in five minutes." Edward said causing an emotion to bubble within Tommy's stomach.

"He's performing? I wonder if Principal Garrett invited him over?"

Tommy blinked.

"Hold on guys... Time is of the essence, if we waste time discussing instead of heading to the school, we might miss the show." Tommy was pushing his breakfast aside.

"Dude... Wittney White's not performing until 2pm today." Edward said brushing his hands over his red hair...

Casey didn't bother with them, his breakfast was of utmost importance.

Riele stared at Tommy once again and it seems like she realized something.

"Tommy, no offense but... you used to look rough, a little bit bad looking... and disheveled, before..."

Riele paused, hesitating and Tommy's face flushed in anger.

"Is she serious?"

"No, I mean... You've changed."

Tommy was dumbfounded.

"I have?"

Riele nodded adding:

"Doesn't your skin look even smoother?"

Edward turned towards Tommy and said, "right? I noticed something off with his sudden glow..."

"Or, did being kidnapped changed you?"

Edward and Casey burst into laughter...

"Very funny guys!"

Tommy grabbed his jacket from the sofa from yesterday and Edward's face blanched.

"You're really a bad dresser. Didn't you already wear this jacket? How will girls drool over a guy who wears the same set of clothes for two days?"

Tommy rolled his eyes.

"Forgive me daddy Eddie... besides, this jacket is the only thing from yesterday."

Tommy puts the jacket on, not minding any comments.

"Guys, you just ate a few. Did I cook plenty or did you all simply eat less?" Casey cocked his head to the side staring at the heap of pancakes on their plates.v

Tommy shrugged.

"Save the rest for later..."

He picked his backpack from the floor heading out of the door with Riele and Edward trailing behind him.

A small Bentley pulled up in the school, "Echelon High School," leaving tyre marks across it's trail.

A moment later, Edward, Tommy and Riele stepped out.

"Tommy, do not follow that pathway leading towards Williams Pool's Bookstore. I've warned you about that place... Don't forget V—"

He did not complete his statement and Tommy jumped in.

"Vikings built their nest along that side of the world I get it. Bye dad."

Casey rolled his eyes and later offered a small smile as he glared at the departing figure of Tommy and his friends.

...

"I can't believe this... Tommy, she asked you out and you simply said no to such beauty?" Edward was shocked and flustered.

"I'm not in the mood for all this. I'm trying to figure out why I'm transforming from my initial pathetic state to my current glow. Is it Transcendence?"

Tommy had a confused expression. But Edward suddenly sneered realizing the weight of the statement Tommy had made.

"Does Transcendence just start from a dormant soul? Have you not heard of Transcendents, they are akin to gods in this city.. and they are so influential that it's very hard to locate them."

Tommy quickly said:

"I know Transcending is off the trademark for the moment, still... What if I'm simply awakening?"

Edward looked at the massive sign board, about making a comment regarding Tommy's question but paused realizing silently; Wittney White's Concert... 2PM today. Buy your tickets.

"We have to buy tickets for the concert???"

Tommy's eyes widened.

"Why?!"

Edward ignored that question as he opened his tablet. When he used the link to buy ticket, he Instantly sighed, depraved.

"Tickets are sold out."

Tommy's face darkened. "Sold out? What are we going to do about this? I have to see Wittney perform, he's like... My favorite celebrity singer."

"There's got to be a way. Let's check on Riele. She stopped for some Ice cone earlier. We're gonna find out if she got these tickets... If not, we wait for next year."

Both Edward and Tommy walked along the hallway amidst lockers and onlookers.

But, Principal Garrett walked right into the hallway staring at Tommy with very strange curiosity.

"Hey you..."

Tommy blinked.

"Me?"

"Yes... Come to my office. Alone!"

Tommy was dumbfounded. Why did principal Garrett want to see him? Is it the issue of his kidnap? How on earth had it spread?...

Tommy gave Edward a glance but after receiving only but a shrug, Tommy walked away with Principal Garrett and they disappeared out of sight inciting the onlookers awe.

In the office, Garrett stared at Tommy and then, at the strange duo... Beautiful faces, glowing skin, silky smooth hair.

Infact, they had an almost flawless beauty.

What exactly is happening?

Tommy glanced at the Principal waiting for him to begin talking about why...

Shivering, Tommy managed to listen... If at all they'd be any one speaking to him.

But, his body stiffened hearing one out of the beautiful strangers ask.

"Did he awaken?"

'Awaken?'

'They are talking about awakening? Did I really awaken?'

Principal Garrett stared at Tommy.

"Mr CrossWood, have you been experiencing any... offset of... Uh– inhuman skills lately? I mean... Super strength, super speed... Basic skills that humans have but not definitely above the inhuman level???"

Tommy's eyes widened again.
