07. The 11th Division

Meanwhile, under of everyone attention, Sai had made his decision.

"I am." Sai decided to accept the offer.

As his low key plan had gone to scrap, he might as well just go for money. Afterall, the seated officer paid better than normal shinigami.

Even though he can reject the offer, how can it be the same as never receiving the offer. The eyes were already on him. Nothing would change if he rejected the offer.

"Good. Good. Even if you reject my offer, I would still have my way to get you in my Division. Buahahaha."

Kuruyashiki laughed as he left Sai and returned to his seat.

"Yo Shiki, is he that impressive?" Kyoraku who was sitting beside asked.

"Of course he is. If it's not because of me who had spotted him first, that old Sasakibe would have recruited him for our chief. Hehe" Kuruyashiki grinned with satisfaction.

If he hadn't coincidentally walked around the academy that year, Sai might have gone to Division 1 by now.

"Still, that 5th seated position, can he really handle it?" Kyoraku asked again.

"Who knows? It has been years since I saw him." Kuruyashiki grinned.

"Then why..?"

After the commotion by Kuruyashiki, none of the Captains stepped out to recruit anymore. It seems that the other captains had only came to accompany him, or only to see what kind of person that can attracted Kuruyashiki to recruit the students by himself.

The allocations then proceed smoothly without any disturbance. After receiving the allocations, the students completed their graduation and followed their respective leader of each divisions.

Sai and other students who were allocated to 11th Division also followed Kuruyashiki to go to 11th Division compounds.

"Hey buddy, how strong are you to receive that seated position your first day?" An arm was placed on his shoulder as Sai was asked.

Turning to his right, Sai knew who this student was. One of the elite students, Morikawa Kenji.

"Strong enough I guess. We'll know after a fight" Sai grinned.

"Of course. Of course. As combatants squad 5th seat, you should be strong enough to protect you position. Hahaha" Kenji said and laughed.

"By the way, I'm Kenji."

"Sai."

"5th seated? From the new recruit?" On 11th Division meeting hall, the members were discussing after receiving the news about the new recruits.

Although it wasn't unprecedented that to have a sudden seated officer, but the position of 5th seated was very important for the division.

Not to say, there were many members who had been eyeing the position since it was vacanted.

To be snatched by a recruit all of sudden, many were unconvinced by the decision.

'Clack.. Clack.. Clack..' sounds of footsteps were walking to the hall.

Leading by Kuruyashiki and his vice Touma, the new recruits followed into the hall.

"Here are our new members. Naoki, is everyone here?" Kuruyashiki stood at the front and spoke.

"Yes captain. Everyone is here since this morning. Especially when they heard that our 5th seat is opened." Naoki reported.

"5th seat is opened?" Sai was suspicious with the sentence.

As a new recruit who immediately sat on the position, he refused to believed that everyone would applause him after waiting for a whole morning.

"Really? Good. Then let's go to the field." Kuruyashiki grinned and led them.

The members of 11th Division walked and followed their captain. The new recruits including also followed with many thoughts in their minds.

Reaching an opened field, Sai saw some nonmembers from 11th Division were also there. Especially the ones with captain haori and their vice captain.

"Captain, why are we being called here? Aren't we usually bring those new recruits back to our division after their recruitment? Why are we being called here instead?" Asuna asked Kyoraku. She was the 3rd seat who usually handled the recruitment every year.

"To watch some shows." Kyoraku smiled and lied down on his back.

"Show?" Asuna was confused and turned to her vice captain for explanation.

"Unlike our division, 11th Division had different systems for their members. It was said that every 11th Division would operate differently depending to their Kenpachi.

As a combat division, 11th division must always be at their optimal strength. Under Kenpachi Kuruyashiki lead, he set up a method to the same purpose.

And the method that he set up is to re-arrange his seated officer every year after the graduation of new recruits.

Every officer from 20th to 10th seated would lead their own members for training and executing missions l. Meanwhile the 9th to the 3rd have operated differently independent under the Captain command." Mikoto(vice captain) explained.

"So, they do this every year as a normal routine. Why would we come and watch today?" Asuna asked again.

"Because the 5th seat that had been vacated since 6 years ago had been filled today, by a new recruit." Mikoto answered.

"Recruit?" Asuna was surprised. She looked towards other locations and saw, not only the members from 8th Division had arrived. The 9th division lead by Captain Takoto, the 5th Division led by Captain Youtou, the 7th Division led Captain Hoshi and the 3rd Division led by Captain Osamu were also here.

"To attract these crowds, what kind of elite this recruit is?" Asuna asked.

"A normal student from Class 2." Mikoto answered.

"What?"

Not only Asuna, the shinigami who were standing behind her also felt the same.

As Asuna wanted to ask more, the gate of field was opened.

Led by Kuruyashiki, all members of Division 11 arrived.
