I loved system novels more than anything, loves the darker side oft he universe and then i found this. I am sure need to get my diabetes checked as there is too much sweetness here. Yet i like it. Till date the story is full blown rollercoaster taking a pure sweet kid to a dangerous entity who i shall not name. I have fun reading it whenever i read way too much into the dark novels. So a must read and thank you for reading my rabble.
I came here from reading another story by the same author. I'm surprised by the different style but I like this as much as The Liberal Assassin. I'll try to write an unbiased review here but I think this author is seriously skilled. Both books are very different in genre but there is this unique style of writing that lets my know it's definitely the same person writing. There is two main difference from Ball of Nothing and The Liberal Assassin despite both being great stories. 1. Ball of Nothing is a more relaxed setting and open ended question and the fun is the journey, not the ending. 2. Ball of Nothing gives a more pacifist vibe than The Liberal Assassin. (obvious reasons) I'm not saying I prefer one over the other seeing how they're very different. However, I think you can see how much the author has improved since they started writing. Season 1 is rather choppy but you can see how the skill level in season 2 is closer to that of The Liberal Assassin. Granted, this author has a very interesting plot that doesn't let you go once you start. However, I like to read something that doesn't have strange phrasing or grammar errors that are glaring. The typos have decreased after the author had the help of a proofreader and I'm thankful for that. It's not error proof for sure but I can accept this level of error. I'll rather not comment much about the plot seeing how many people have already done so. However, I would like to bring this to the author's attention. The pacing works well but the chapter length needs more consistency. Some chapters look as if they ended in a hurried note like the author couldn't wait to get the arc over and done with. It makes all the previous effort of giving your side characters life go down the drain so you should pay more attention to the minor details. It might be slightly difficult because of how many charcters you have but if there was one point to improve on, I think it would be this. That aside, I think it's a great piece of work and everyone shouldgive it a try. Season 2 is much better so if you can live through season 1, I think you'd stay till the end. It's definitely worth spirit stones if the author gets contracted in the future (not surprising seeing how the anks and views are rising steadily) but I hope the author doesn't charge us 10 stones a chapter or something that ridiculous. Free readers will be lost by high pay walls.
I've read the revies and I was skeptical. However, I agree with most of them. It's a read worth following. I don't really like this kind of genre because OP MC means lots of concessions but I don't get that from here. True, the MC has a great advantage but he doesn't 'abuse' it. There are still trials that are hard on him. Power isn't everything here and it is interesting to see how the subject of 'humanity' is being discussed in a very subtle way. The author is very skillful at balancing out the seriousness and lght-heartedness without losing touch with the main plot. Sure, there are distractions like side arcs, introduction to new minor characters but even those distractions give flavour to the overall plot. It's not like the Naruto or Bleach fillers. It literally contributes to this massive castle of a story. Think of them like a sneak peak to the interior decorations and parties hosted there. Don't think of it like playing in a first person when you read this. It might sem that way when you first start out but in the secnd season, you get to see it more like a movie. The MC doesn't have to be there at all times but you woouldn't be confused by the change of scenary. If anything, it makes it easier to understand what's going on around the MC. The MC may be the reason why the author wrote it but the story doesn't revolve around his existence. It's what I find most unique here. Every character is a MC in a way. They're as real as you can get and I enjoy reading the different perspectives and thoughts although I'm curious to know the thoughts of a character that would hate the MC. So far, that character hasn't appeared but I would definitely love to see something like that happen. If you want something relatively relaxing to read without the high ******* but something more than a slice of life, I think this is the story for you. Fantasy is a very abstract genre, much less multiworld in an alternative setting. However, I think I can easily settle in this despite not knowing everything. The author has a habit of creating the unknown so I don't have to think too hard about it. I just accept what it is and move on while enjoying the delivery and plot.
I'll be honest. I wasn't expecting much but this blew me away. The first few chapters were fast reads and I didn't take the time to let it sit in. It amused me but it wasn't anything worth remembering, I was just looking for a way to pass the time. Then things kicked up a notch by the time Zero gained his human form. Initially I was skeptical about the appearances of the Gods. I knew they would come at some point from the story description but it was simply too fast of a progress though I found out that the progress isn't really all that fast on a whole. The self actualisation part of this journey hooked me. I believe that many other teens may be in a phase of their lives like "I don't know what I want to do in life" and this is exactly how the MC felt. Maybe worse considering how he has no knowledge about the world or about his past. However, it was nice to see that he had a different mindset as compared to all us troubled teens. I'm not ashamed to claim that I look up to this kid as my life's role model. I'm not exactly inspired to pop random mushrooms in my mouth just to know what it tastes like but you get what I mean. I don't know this author personally but I don't regret giving this book a try. I see that it has gathered popularity lately so my congratulations to the author. I'll not be commenting much and all during the story but I hope you read this review and know how much of an impact you had in my life, not to sound dramatic or anything. Keep doing what you do, fam! I got your back.
Not for the narrow-minded for sure. This story has a perfect balance between serious and fun. The author has mastered the art of manipulating our emotions and I swear there aren't enough updates. Normally, you would expect something major to have happened by the end of a hundred chapters but this author is a master at foreplay. Even at chapter 100, the MC is still 'preparing' for his adventurer. Yet, I find myself surprisingly interested to know what's next. The pace isn't draggy at all despite the slow progress. It's all in the journey I suppose. It's as if the author isn't in a hurry to have the MC engage in battle or show his powers. I mean by chapter 20 everyone already knows what the MC is capable of. It's no secret. One thing I really like is how the MC is not the hero type. If anything, it reminds me of a hamster that needs to be protected from all harm. It may seem sickeningly sweet at some point and I admit I'm tempted to throw it down. However, the concept and plot were just too interesting so I couldn't do it. You could skip it if you don't like it but I promise things will get better if you grit your teeth and just read it. All the important information are hidden in those chapters for later so you have to read it all. Writing style gets better in season 2 (yes, can you believe it is already developed so far and still so unnoticed?). The author certainly put in the effort to give us lengthier chapters and fuller side arcs. The experience is completely different, not that season 1 isn't great. However, it might require effort from the reader. I find myself re-reading some parts because the author drops us breadcrumbs that are easily overlooked. Think of it like a mystery book where the reader is a detective except this isn't a crime and thriller genre. On the whole, I'll continue reading this. I have high hopes for it and I heard that the author is applying for a contract. All the best and keep it up!
I really like it. The start was very interesting and the story is still growing without losing its uniqueness. The MC still has a lot to learn, so there might be some things that will make us go 'Why do that?!' or something, but this will make the story more interesting and fun to go through, right?!
