Review Detail of KiwiNuko in Ball of Nothing

Not for the narrow-minded for sure. This story has a perfect balance between serious and fun. The author has mastered the art of manipulating our emotions and I swear there aren't enough updates. Normally, you would expect something major to have happened by the end of a hundred chapters but this author is a master at foreplay. Even at chapter 100, the MC is still 'preparing' for his adventurer. Yet, I find myself surprisingly interested to know what's next. The pace isn't draggy at all despite the slow progress. It's all in the journey I suppose. It's as if the author isn't in a hurry to have the MC engage in battle or show his powers. I mean by chapter 20 everyone already knows what the MC is capable of. It's no secret. One thing I really like is how the MC is not the hero type. If anything, it reminds me of a hamster that needs to be protected from all harm. It may seem sickeningly sweet at some point and I admit I'm tempted to throw it down. However, the concept and plot were just too interesting so I couldn't do it. You could skip it if you don't like it but I promise things will get better if you grit your teeth and just read it. All the important information are hidden in those chapters for later so you have to read it all. Writing style gets better in season 2 (yes, can you believe it is already developed so far and still so unnoticed?). The author certainly put in the effort to give us lengthier chapters and fuller side arcs. The experience is completely different, not that season 1 isn't great. However, it might require effort from the reader. I find myself re-reading some parts because the author drops us breadcrumbs that are easily overlooked. Think of it like a mystery book where the reader is a detective except this isn't a crime and thriller genre. On the whole, I'll continue reading this. I have high hopes for it and I heard that the author is applying for a contract. All the best and keep it up!
