Finally Home

Vlad waited patiently at the bus stop until the next one arrived.

As he boarded the bus, the driver greeted him with a nod. Vlad paid his fare and found a seat near the back, settling in for the journey home.

During the ride, the driver couldn't help but notice Vlad's disheveled appearance and the slight limp in his step. Concerned, the driver struck up a conversation.

"Rough day, huh?" the driver remarked, glancing at Vlad through the rearview mirror.

Vlad chuckled softly, nodding in agreement. "You could say that. Just a little adventure in the woods."

The driver raised an eyebrow, intrigued. "Sounds interesting. Hope you're alright, though."

Vlad assured the driver that he was fine, offering a friendly smile before leaning back in his seat, lost in his thoughts as the bus rumbled on toward his destination.

As the bus rolled along the winding road, the driver couldn't help but feel a sense of curiosity about Vlad's adventure.

"So, what took you out to the woods?" the driver inquired, glancing at Vlad in the rearview mirror.

Vlad shrugged nonchalantly. "Just needed some time away from the city, you know? Clear my head and all that."

The driver nodded understandingly. "Ah, I get it. Nature has a way of doing that."

"Yeah, it does," Vlad agreed, gazing out the window at the passing scenery. "Though today's trip turned out to be more eventful than I anticipated."

The driver chuckled knowingly. "Tell me about it. Sometimes, those spontaneous adventures end up being the most memorable."

Vlad nodded in agreement, a faint smile playing on his lips. "That's for sure. Though I could do without the injuries."

The driver's expression turned sympathetic. "You got hurt out there?"

"Just a few scratches," Vlad replied dismissively, though he winced slightly as he shifted in his seat.

The driver's concern deepened. "Well, take it easy, kid. You never know what's lurking out in those woods."

"Thanks, I'll keep that in mind," Vlad said appreciatively, grateful for the driver's words of caution.

Vlad and the driver walked to each other as he reached his destination.

After bidding farewell to the bus driver, Vlad trudged wearily up the path to his home. The injuries from his encounter with the fire crown lizards were starting to ache, and all he wanted was a hot shower and a comfortable bed.

"I will use the elixer after the injuries on my body have healed"

Vlad said as he looked at his herb in the inventory with a satisfying smile on his face.

By the time he reached his house, it was already morning.

After opening the door Vlad remembered some memories of the original owner of the body. The family of three ate together and his mother woke up until he didn't come back.

Compared to the memory right now Vlad felt a little empty looking at his house with nobody else present even though the memory wasn't his own.

As Vlad entered the house he smelled the sweet aroma of food in the house.

He made his way to his room and what he saw shocked him.

There was food prepared on the table with Xinxia sleeping on the sofa beside it, the food had gone cold so it had probably been quite some time since she prepared the food.

The act of kindness from Xinxia moved Vlad and he felt a little warmth in his heart looking at the Xinxia.

Vlad quietly sat down and started eating the food.

"Thanks, Xinxia I was really hungry"

Vlad said as he was eating the food she prepared.

Today's dinner was one of the best dinners Vlad had in quite some time.

After eating Vlad gave Xinxia a blanket to cover her up and went to the bathroom to wash himself up and to change his clothes so as not to show his injuries to Xinxia.

"This time I got the herb because of my luck."

Vlad said while dressing his wounds.

"Next time I might end up in grave danger. I need to quickly increase my power so that I can face the tragedy that is about to happen in Bo City"

Vlad said remembering the episode in which Bo City was destroyed.

"I can't survive with the strength that I possess right now"

Just as Vlad was talking to himself he heard Xinxia waking up beside himself.

"Ah, brother Vlad you are back"

Xinxia said with a smile on her face.

"Yes I just came back an hour ago or so"

Vlad said while controlling his laugh as Xinxia looked quite funny in her morning hair.

"You should have woken me up when you cam..."

Before Xinxia could complete her sentence Vlad burst into laughter as her look was hilarious with her hair looking like she had touched a Tesla coil.

It just looks so funny a beautiful face with a smile with that hair.

"Ha ha Hhahah"

Vlad tried to stop his laugh at the look of the century.

He quickly took out his phone and took a photo before she knew why he was laughing.

"Why are you laughing brother Vlad''

When she asked that I showed her the photo I just took and started laughing again.

After looking at the photo Xinxia's face became became redder than a tomato of embarrassment.

Xinxia tried to snatch my phone to delete the photo but she failed as my arms are larger than hers so even if we both are on the sofa she can't take the phone.

"I ain't letting you delete this photo I am going to set it as my wallpaper"

I said while showing her the photo.

"Please delete the photo, Brother Vlad"

Xinxia said with a pout while correcting her hair while Vlad again took her photo as she was pouting.

"I ain't letting anyone take these photos from me"

Vlad said as he looked at the photo.

Xinxia again threw herself atop Vlad and barely succeded in taking the phone.

"Hehe now you can't stop me from deleting the photo "

Xinxia said with a mischievous smile.

"Well at least get down from my chest or are you planning to lie down there all day? Not that I am complaining."

Vlad said to Xinxia who again had her face red of embarrassment.

"I fight with you brother Vlad"

After what Vlad said she threw Vlad's phone on the table and sharted attacking Vlad with a pillow.

Just as both of them were fighting Xinxia saw bandages on the hand which was bitten by the wold hidden under the Long-sleeved t-shirt.

"Brother Vlad how did you get injured"

Xinxia asked while looking at the hand that was wounded even though Vlad had done the first aid. Even though it was done roughly.

She made Vlad bring the first-aid kit so that she could do the dressing on her own as she knows my skills in the medical field.

"Now how did you get hurt brother Vlad"

She said with a serious look on her face while dressing the wounds.

"It's nothing much I just went on hicking...."

I told her about me being attacked by a wolf in the jungle with a little bit of seasoning mixed in to make it entertaining.

"So why did you go alone in the jungle?"

Xinxia asked with anger evident on her face.

Vlad hesitated for a moment, contemplating how much he should reveal to Xinxia. He knew she would worry, but he also didn't want to burden her with unnecessary concerns.

"I needed to find something," Vlad finally replied, choosing his words carefully. "It's... something important to me."

Xinxia's expression softened, her concern shifting to curiosity. "What were you looking for?"

Vlad hesitated again, unsure whether he should divulge the true nature of his quest. But looking into Xinxia's earnest gaze, he found himself wanting to confide in her.

"It's an herb," he admitted, deciding to trust her with the truth. "An elixir that can help me... become stronger."

Xinxia's eyes widened in surprise, but she didn't press him further. Instead, she simply nodded, understanding dawning in her eyes.

"I understand," she said softly, her voice filled with understanding. "Just... be careful, okay? I don't want anything to happen to you. As there aren't many people close to me after my mother left"

Xinxia said with tears brimming in her eyes.

Vlad offered her a grateful smile, touched by her concern. "I will, I promise I will not do something so risky again. And thank you, Xinxia. For everything."

After doing her things Xinxia went out to her room while telling me to see a doctor soon.
