CHAPTER 29

20 days after diving the dungeon---

2 hours had officially passed in the real world and thus it had been 7 days since Michael died without any trace.

His body and everything exploded to pieces and no miracles were bound to happen.

The casualties due to the war was 350 for the demons and 45 for the humans.

Karthikeyan's squad had lost 10 members including Michael. Now it stood at just 20.

With Michael gone , Sophia didn't feel well for the next few days and her performance in battle was sub optimal at best.

Nevertheless as a week passed she got somewhat better and fought with a new motivation and a desire to get stronger.

Michael was one of her friends and she been with him for the 3 months straight. So the impact of him dying was quite strong.

Others even though were not that much affected like Sophia were still affected. Nevertheless they also got through it and were on track.

During this week , except for small skirmishes , Karthikeyan's party which was now 60 didn't experience any major difficulties.

Due to the presence of strong individuals like John , it was estimated that the humans now stood no more than 150 .

100 people had died in just 20 days.

Even though Levis was a righteous man and kept his previous squad under control, due to them taking massive casualties , they began to form their own faction to get more loot and so on.

According to the scouts who were sent to the village which was now only around 3 km away , it was seen that the defences now became somewhat less tight.

Due to this Levis and the other strong dudes began to formulate a plan although it was met with opposition from the newly formed faction.

"I will not accept this" rejected the man who proclaimed himself to be the leader of this new faction. He was level 13 himself and was quite strong.

Due to his AOE skill and quite high talent , he had managed to level up 2 times during this dungeon raid.

Nevertheless a plan was soon formulated and put in motion.

*RUSTLE* *RUSTLE*

The air was windy and the time was night.

The leaves of the bushes rustled.

The defenders who stood on top of the walls didn't pay attention to it as they thought the air caused it.

Although true , it was not completely as the humans were also causing the rustle of the bushes.

Slowly they surrounded the walls of the town from every side and every blind corners.

The gate of the wall was closed as no visitor was expected in this time of the night.

"Bro" a demon who looked quite lanky called out to a demon who looked like his elder brother.

"What happened ?" the elder brother questioned

"Bro don't you think the leaves are rustling quite much?"

"Hmm?"

He then looked at the leaves rustling. Although it was much , it was more likely due to the wind, so he didn't pay it much heed.

"The air is windy , Samuel , there is no need to worry, be at ease" he told with a smile

"The invaders will not dare to attack after taking a massive casualties on their side"

"Is that so?" the demon still not convinced replied.

Nevertheless he then went on with his work patrolling the tower.

"We are ready" said a man who looked like an assassin into a walkie talkie.

Levis who was on the other side confirmed the status and gave them the green signal.

The man after getting the command , led his other 2 assassins and slowly approached the storage area of the wall.

It had a entrance in the form of a door and was guarded by 2 level 10 demons as it was quite an important place.

It was where food , ammunition and weapons were stored for quick access for the demons guarding the tower.

The said demons who were guarding the wall amounted to around 200 , a massive number.

Taking out silenced pistols , they quickly aimed at the demon's skull.

As a single shot would likely not be enough to finish their lives , they injected some mana to increase the velocity and thus increasing the overall damage.

*puk* *Puk*

Soon the 2 demons unable to react to the speed of the bullets fell to the ground with a thud.

Fortunately , it didn't catch the attention of the other demons of the tower as during this time no one was around this part of the tower.

During this past week under Levis commands , every information about every guards patrolling the walls were noted by the scouts and assassins.

It including their patrolling time , their designated area, their levels , possible class and so on.

Class signified their jobs, that is swordsman , mage , healer and so on.

Soon quickly incinerating the bodies of the demons with a Mana intense fire spell , that lasted for no longer than a second , they soon entered the storage area.

They didn't worry about devices installed inside that detected their presence as they had checked that with their own mana driven devices that was specifically made for this purpose during their previous visits.

It detected whether or not there were devices of said origin in the vicinity.

Soon after 5 minutes.

"Its all Set up " the man remarked in the walkie talkie

"Have you all distanced yourself to safety? " Levis questioned in an indifferent tone.

"Yes"

"Proceed"

As soon as those words escaped from Levis , the man on the other side quickly got to work.

He took a remote that had many buttons.

Not heeding the other buttons , he quickly pressed the button he wanted.

*BOOM* *BOOM*

Explosions shook the entire wall in different places.

It was so powerful that it didn't just stop with the walls and spread through most of the village leading to mass destruction.

The reason for this explosions were dynamites that were placed at different parts of the wall.

This was only possible as the demons had built a tunnel inside the walls that gave them quick travel between different parts of the wall.

The wall was quite big estimating 10 meters in length and 100 meters in width.

As the demons had ammunition , they also had dynamites leading to the trio using it.

And just like that more than 50 percent of the village was destroyed and razed to the ground.

As the explosion died out , the main squad soon entered the village to plunder it.

Karthikeyan entered a small hut that had no doors.

The smell inside was that of baked bricks.

As expected the left side of the hut had a furnace for the said purpose and on the right side...

Were 2 demons who looked like dwarves kneeling on the ground shivering in fear. One looked like she was the mother and another looked like she was the daughter.

They had heard the invaders infiltrating the village late at night.

They were not fighters and thus as they couldn't defend themselves , they had hid themselves inside of their pathetic house that offered no defence.

With his cold eyes Karthikeyan looked at them.

His mask being illuminated by the moon light that seeped thought the window bars.
