The guy is going to travel to different worlds, there is no way he can sustain any serious romance, I think he should have a romance with a few girls in each the world, just for fun, without the need for it to be very important to the plot.

He’s being way too cautious. I don’t like when MCs overthink everything to the point of indecision. Nobody said you had to steal the Tesseract. You could simply tell them that you need to study the energy emanating from the cube and channel your senses through it to see if there are any similar artifacts on Earth that could be acting as a beacon to draw other alien forces here. Literally make up any reason to be able to hold it for a while. And they’ll likely let you because of your help in stopping the invasion. Thor needs the Tesseract to repair the Bifrost, but it’s not like he’d be opposed to someone holding it for a while.
