I feel like the author is going a bit too hard on midoriya, he’s a child who’ been systematically beaten, bullied, burned, and discouraged by everyone around him except his mom since he was four years old. Expecting him to actually do things like working out to improve himself is naive considering that while he has hope he can be a hero he never actually believed it to be possible, in fact he was constantly told it was impossible.
I honestly consider this chapter the best one so far, the most normal one too. Honestly all the previous ones were unnecessarily dark and full of unnecessary intrigue for a world as happy as MHA is, It has its dark parts but they are only when there are villains involved which until now there weren't any, but still the story was dark, not dark from the blood but the general feeling of constant despondency which was constantly irritating me, the prologue which should have given me context about the MC felt a heavy burden to read. I don't know if I am expressing myself correctly but this chapter was the first where I felt that the MC had a bit of freedom and room to breathe, It doesn't mean that the previous chapters were good and this is character growth, no, I still maintain that I didn't like the previous ones and I wish they were more "lighter"
